Did some research. Comm is ground. So that goes to a switch or thermostat then to ground.

My guess is 85 and 86 are coil? Comm is 30?

My niles relay is on the right. Thanks!!!

I plan on using an electric fan for my 280z along with a relay/fuse. My question is the relay I want to use(niles 30A) looks different than the typical wiring . I have a schematic with typical relay wiring and then the niles relay. Can anyone tell me what the ports are. Example ....port 30 is comm on the Niles relay etc. Thanks

Idling woes but not the usual (77 280z)
rickyellow zee replied to dashpot's topic in Trouble Shooting / General Engine
i scrapped all the idle control devices and put a ball valve inline and never looked back. Works like a charm. Looks silly but who cares. http://forums.hybridz.org/topic/118330-aar-deleted-heres-how-i-controll-idle/- 4 replies

Ignition timing for 10lbs(L28ET)
rickyellow zee replied to rickyellow zee's topic in Turbo / Supercharger
Arigato!!! -
What timing are you guys running with stock L28ET's at 10 lbs? I'm running 10 lbs and want to know if I should adjust timing to compensate. Motor is stock. Is there a rule of thumb that you alter timing as boost is increased? Thanks.

BC camber plate question
rickyellow zee replied to rickyellow zee's topic in Brakes, Wheels, Suspension and Chassis
This is what I need to know. So the shaft has to be 12 mm thick. Does the nut have a sleeve that fits into the bearing or does it just lay on top of the bearing? Some bearings like the ones in the megan camber plates have the nut that has a shaft that fits into the bearing. I will take pics of what I mean later and post them. Either way 12mm......Thanks. -
I have a couple of questions regarding the 3 and 4 bolt camber plates. First off will these work with other coilover setups besides BC coilovers? I have S13 coils (upgarage) for my 280z and need camber plates that dont require allot of cutting or welding as I plan on doing the install myself. These look great, fit the description perfectly. Also what mods need to be done with using the 4 bolt plates. Do I just need to drill 2 additional holes and use the 2 factory holes? Anyone using them on their setups please chime in!!!!Thanks Rick

Thanks! The rears I can do but the fronts are beyond my abilities. I dont weld or have the cash for the work. Bolt ins would be best. -
S13 Up Garage Coilovers for 280z.
rickyellow zee replied to rickyellow zee's topic in Brakes, Wheels, Suspension and Chassis
I think I have found the answer after hours of searching. ZCCJDM sells a kit for the s13 to s30 conversion. All I need is the weld in camber plates, not the sleeves.....I think. http://www.zccjdm.com/catalog.php/azcarbum/dt94735/pd2117800/ZCCJDM__280Z_CUSTOM_MEGAN_S13_COIL_OVER_SUSPENSION_ADAPTOR_KIT_ -

S13 Up Garage Coilovers for 280z.

Up garage -
I recently bought a set of Up Garage coilovers from a local guy and need some help with getting the final parts for the setup. I was told that they are S13 coilovers welded to 280z spindles. Seems about right. The top hats have me concerned. They appear to be S13 and I guess I need 280z top hats and camber plates to finish off the setup? Not sure though...thats why I ask you fine people to have a look at the pics and chime in on what needs to be done to get this up and running. Pics.

Spindle pin club

Onto the other spindle today......Retaining pin out with no problems. I started hammering the pin but this time with a claw hammer as my sledge is at work. Its out to the point where the end of the threads are flush with the casing. Using a long bolt to tap the rest out is proving hard with a puny claw hammer so I wait till I get to work and commence the beat down with a manly mallet. Soaking in more PB blaster till I get to work. I will win....oh yes....muahaha! -
Spindle pin club

Good to know. Thanks. BTW whats level 1 removal if Im level2? -
Im in the club, where my shirt? I tackled the dreaded spindle pin this afternoon after buying my coilovers(already welded in). I soaked the spindle pins in PB blaster for an hour or so then started to operate. The retaining bolt and key came out with 2 whacks of the hammer. I backed off the nut so it was flush to the end of the threads then gave it 2 whacks. Out she goes. at that time I gave the spindle casing a bunch of mild taps to loosen the pin and break up the corrosion. I then put the hub assembly in a vise. I threaded both nuts on the spindle and tightened them together flush with the end of the threads. I then proceeded to hammer away. At first the spindle pin did not budge. I sprayed more pb blaster and let it sit for 20 minutes. I also tapped the casing again to loosen things up. After 20 minutes I started hammering again with a mini sledge. Boom she started moving its way out. No problem. I used a rod to continue tapping the pin out of the casing. The pin looks good and after I run a tap over it she should be re usable. Tommorow round two. Pics!

A local guy is selling some Ground Controll coil overs for a 280z. He sent me a pic and Im trying to figure out what the spring rate is. Hes unsure as he bought them used. They are still new in the box. He sent me this pic with the part numbers. Anyone have any idea what the spring rates are by looking at the pic? I just want to make sure that they are for the 280z not the 240 also. Thanks
