  1. I could not agree with you more!!! But in a perfect world, I'de say it would have the power to push it into single digits. In most cases though, it probably would not happen.
  2. And that kind of power can easily be made without the juice, HAH Single digits for sure with it.
  3. The plug on the alternator has 1 wire, and needs to be plugged in. The other end of this wire connects directly to the PCM. The PCM control's the alternator this way. The big red wire connects to the back of the alternator, and on my car directly goes to the starter post, then directly to the positive post on the battery. I don't whats up with the harness's that you bought, but if they connect the same way then you'll be fine.
  4. You can see ALL my swap pics here... Enjoy! http://home.tiora.net/davidc/?path=Datsun%2FV8%20Swap
  5. My guess would be somewhere in the mid 400's. I'll get it dyno'd eventually. Other guys with my same set up, with the exception of long tube headers make anywhere from 440 - 480. I guess a lot depends on the tune, exhaust, ect. Regardless of the number I make, it feels damn good on the butt dyno!
  6. Oh ya... Here's an external view of my car that a buddy took.
  7. Just the hoop is a bolt in auto power roll bar, I welded in a harness bar, 2 bars that extend to the rear, and then 2 side bars. The seems pretty stiff the way it is now. I would hate to drive the car 100 miles away and have something break. Eventually I want to get some kind of tow vehicle and a trailer. Would just be way easier to pack up tools, jacks ect...
  8. Thanks guys! The people in the crowd yelling at me were my friends. Haha As far as mods go, I have the PRC stage 2.5 5.3 heads offered from Texas-SpeedPerformance. Hardened pushrods, MS3 cam with 113LSA (because the 112 was out of stock). Fast 92mm intake with PTM 92 MM throttle body. JTR headers, 2.5" exhaust that Y's into a single 3.5". 3.5" intake pipe with cheesy cone air filter from an autoparts store. The bottom end is still untouched, same bottom end I ran the turbo on. Thats really it, I tune the car with HP tuners on my own and use a Zietronix for a wide band. Seems to be getting the job done.
  9. I've got an 8 point cage, welded / bolted in. And a front strut tower brace, seems to be alright so far.
  10. Tell me about it, closest 1/4 mile is over 100 miles away. And extremely packed whenever its open.
  11. Hey thanks! My best trap of the night was 102mph The MS3 is a sweet cam, idles way nasty, and the car still has plenty of mid range, and lots of top end. Leaving a stop, Lets say.. Below 2k rpm the car will hicup slightly. But that could also be tuning. But does not bother me at all. Its a race car, suppose to run best at WOT.
  12. So after ditching the turbo, I decided to go the N/A route. Got me some CNC ported heads, biggie cam, and a Fast 92/92 set up. The car drives awesome now!! And I'm happy with my decision. I took the car out to the track a couple days ago and took some in car video. Its my first time editing a video so go easy. These runs are all on pump gas, tuning done by myself, running M/T ET drag's 26x8.5x15 Anyone who knows about Qualcomm knows that its a slip and slide and is hard to get decent 60 ft. times. Anyways... Enjoy! FYI, there is a little bit of swearing in the video. I have a potty mouth.
  13. Mine did 7.1 @ 98.4 with a 1.58 60 ft. my best MPH of the night was 99.7mph I was putting 411 to the wheels with these runs. If your dyno numbers are correct, then your car must weigh quite a bit more then mine. OR your dyno numbers are not accurate. Either way, When you spin less tire, you gain more E/T and MPH. Throw some slicks on there and see what that bad boy will do!
  14. I don't have a P/N for mine, but its an earls hose. Even guys in Vette's and Fbodies have this problem to. Its not a big deal.
  15. That's what I thought too, even my friends C5 ZO6 with 40k miles on it makes the clutch fluid turn black.
  16. My fluid does the same as well. I've probably flushed it 4 - 5 times in the last 3k miles and the black color always returns within a day or two. Its got to be something in the slave cylinder causing it, because the same thing happens regardless of master cylinder choice. Still works great for me though.
  17. Whats really common on DSM's is blown off, or almost blown off Intercooler piping. When you get under any kind of boost the car bogs and won't accelerate. The stock turbo's on 2g's do take a dump due to how tiny they are. But on top of that, I've seen a few blown head gaskets causing the oil smoke as well. Any updates on the car?
  18. Well.... I pulled all the turbo stuff off the car this last weekend. I blew out another exhaust manifold gasket. I bought some bling carbon steel exhaust gaskets just for this reason, and they took a dump in less then 100 miles. This is the second set of gaskets that I've put on the car in less then 200 miles. If I'm already have problems like this after only a couple hundred miles... I don't want to even imagine the kind of issues I'm going to run into after a couple thousand. Anyways.... I'm converting back to N/A, I hung onto my heads for just such an occasion. I'm going to try and make as much power I can like this, and see if I can accomplish my goals at the track. Everything is for sale BTW! If you want any particular pieces, let me know.
  19. Ya, I really like the whole build process part of things. And now that I'm done with the turbo build, I'm craving something else. How about 1,000$ plus shipping?
  20. Well, its official. http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=144206
