  1. 3" inlet / outlet. This is the same intercooler I've got, except this one has 2.5" inlets / outlets.
  2. Hope you don't plan on running more then 6psi of boost with those 60 lb injectors. at 8psi I was at 98% duty cycle with my 60lb siemens deka injectors on a 5.3L. This was at 43 psi base fuel pressure. I've also got a twin Walbro 255 set up with a -10 feed line. I've recently upgraded to 80lbs The intercooler I am using on my Datsun is a 20" x 12" x 3". Fits perfectly between the openings on the side of the core support. Its always hot / warm on one side and very cold on the other. Data logs don't show IAT's rising excessively either. I paid 130$ for it off of Ebay. Pics:
  3. The cage really isn't anything special. And I'm sure it wouldn't get passed through on a "certification" It was kind of a mix of, a little bit of experimentation / getting the guys at tech to pass the car for a quicker E/T. Which ended up being the same E/T that BigDeez was allowed to tun!!! I did notice the car being stiffer after welding stuff in. But even after that, I still have problems closing the passenger door.
  4. Its basically an Auto power bolt in hoop. The one that bolts into 4 spots total. And I welded two bars that go back off of it. And then two side bars. I don't really have any pics of it, sorry. Could take some if you were interested.
  5. You should hook one of these up to the Slave, then just run a SS line into the bell housing. So it looks like this: I actually have an extra fitting, like shown in the first pic. 5 bucks and its yours.
  6. Thanks guys! Hanns, Your car is a monster!!!! Love the wheelie pic. Eric, Can't wait to see your car back together and back on the dyno. Should put down some impressive numbers and run some impressive times.
  7. 6.96 @ 103mph. 1.7 60ft. Here's a little youtube video: http://www.youtube.com/user/ColtGT4g63?feature=mhw4
  8. What exactly did they look at before certifying it? And where do you go to do something like this?
  9. Hey Thanks! It drives around pretty good, and the turbo sounds amazing! So far the trans hasn't taken a dump either. I plan to race the car next Friday night, so there will be some video' after that.
  10. I used a piece of metal on my upper radiator hose to join two different rubber hoses together. The ID of the piece of metal was probably close to 1" if I can remember. Never had an over heating issue at all. Coolant doesn't flow nearly as fast as your intake / exhaust. So a small restriction won't be the end of the world.
  11. Its aliiiiiiivee!!!!! Here is the extent of my exhaust! Surprisingly not that loud.
  12. The Line that goes into the Evap. solenoid is a vapor line that comes from the gas tank. The solenoid regulated how much vapor is purged into the intake system. It is probably taped to the fuel line because both lines go back towards the gas tank anyways. You can cut the tape and remove the Evap. without affecting the fuel line.
  13. Of course we're interested! Plan on coming back with lots of pics of the progress.
  14. So I pulled apart the LS1 a little more, found another piston in there with broken off ring lands. #7.
  15. Haha! The entire long block with both manifolds, fuel injectors / rails, throttle body, coils, all sensors, flex plate, alternator, ect... cost me 350$ Which I may be able to get close to back after selling off all the crap I don't use. I purchased the BorgWarner turbo a while back off of "theturboforums" for 450$ shipped. I will be using a TH350, I have already disassembled it, replace all the clutch's / seals, and installed a shift kit. This will be my first time experiencing a high horse power automatic car. I picked up a BW S400 with the 75mm compressor a little while back. Exhaust side is a 1.32 with T6 housing.
  16. Well... Picked up my 5.3 iron motor over the weekend. Need to get some head gaskets and arp hardware, then its re-assembly time. This time when it goes back in, it will be auto and have a different turbo hanging off the front.
  17. When doing my swap, I only put the engine in once and never had to take it back out. That is.... until I blew it up.
  18. I see, I have several holes drilled in my T stat, warmest temps I saw at the track were.. 180* roughly.
  19. Why in the world would they call that thing a steam tube??? And how would that cause, in any way, damage to the engine?
  20. Thanks for the input and option suggestions. I have located a 5.3 long block that I will be picking up this weekend. I will be throwing my Ported heads off my LS1 onto it and throw it back in the car. I am pretty capable of tuning the car already, but of course the more time spent tuning the the better off you are with it. My AFR at WOT 5-6psi of boost was 11.0-11.2:1, as boost went up to 10psi the AFR goes down to 10.2-10.4:1 and holds steady to red line. Too bad the spare 5.3 motor that I had intended on using as a back up for the Datsun, went into my truck! haha
