  1. My M3 has an electric throttle mode where it is more linear (aka feels more sensitive). I always use it, because I am just used to it. I was test driving a new Corvette Grand Sport and I killed it starting off. It really felt like I had to mash on the gas pedal to bring the revs up! I bet I looked like a newbie driver lol! I'd suggest just getting used to it, once you are, you'll never notice it.... until you drive something else lol..
  2. Anyone see anything that could be added to the cage. I'm going to add bars to the front strut towers and sheet metal gusseting to the body when I get around to it.
  3. The humid shop was where the cage was put in. Im surprised how long its been bare metal and still wasn't bad, till now anyway..
  4. Yes, that makes sense. Safety should be the number one concern. Perhaps the OP could mount it under the car or in the engine compartment. Is fuel starvation even an issue with the stock fuel tank?
  5. Whats wrong with mounting a surge tank in the car? It is the same as a fuel cell with less capacity.
  6. And here is the blue 280Z that I replaced the head gasket on and sold.. looks way too good! Now Silver.
  7. Monkey bars are in! Looks like it's pretty humid in the shop. damn rust.
  8. I'd like to pick up some new hardware for the body panels. Most of which broke/stripped/got thrown out and lost when I took them off. Does anyone know what sizes are used for fenders/cowl/access panels.. etc.. those are the main ones I need. Thanks a lot guys. I was going to buy a random metric kit, but they only have a few of each.
  9. There was probably 7 RX7's (assorted years and progress) and a that RX3 and another RX3 coupe. Pretty neat.
  10. Roll cage being welded in!

  11. Wow, this guy does some really awesome work!! He said he'd like to get some more business so I should spread the word. I was very impressed with all the welds and projects hes working on. A lot of the people funding the projects are short on cash, so he has a lot of works in progress to check out. Check these out! AMAZING I have no doubt my cage will be awesome. He's even making engine frame rails from sq tubing for me. Hes really into the RX7's and rotarys.. VERY COOL! If you're in the Wisconsin/chicago area and interested in how to get a hold of him you can PM me.
  12. Okay, I found an add on craigslist while I was searching for Z06's for fabrication. He said he has lots of experience with roll cages, and other related stuff, so I inquired about how much it would be to weld my 12 point cage in my car. I got an E-mail back, he said $500, everything perfectly notched and TIG welded. Wow, that's a great price. Then I got to thinking, hmm, I bought a Miller TIG welder for this project, and I can weld with both hands tied behind my back, but I dont have any experience fitting tubing. So I asked how much it would be just to fit the cage and tack it, as I could do the TIG welding myself. He said it would be $200 for notching and tacking everything. Or if I still wanted him to do it, $350 for the whole thing done! Wow, now that is a great deal! Im borrowing a trailer to take it down sometime. I have so many projects going right now, I just don't have much time for anything! Pics soon.. lol, like within a month.
  13. Hmm.. If I bought a couple of $200K+ cars those wouldn't be on the list.. :/
  14. Update! Well I finally got all of the racing tires from the E-bay seller. Only took 5 months to complete my order, but I guess I didn't exactly need them right away. It is always nice to get what you paid for though. My GF decided we should remodel my office area (She calls it the baby room ). So she's already got a list of other stuff to do, and I put my foot down and said, "After the office is done I will be painting the 260Z before starting any other projects!". LOL So I have to put in the crown molding yet and fill a bunch of nail holes and give it another coat of white paint. I'm really getting into this whole wood working thing, pretty neat. Then some quick body work on the Z, and fabricate some sort of seat mount, and some other minor things and it should be ready for the "tremclad" paint job. I'm doing semi-gloss white, and flat black. Here is the office nearly completed..
  15. because of how you lean to turn a motorcycle less air pressure makes the tire flatter and makes the bike feel very heavy and sluggish.
  16. They sure are a pain to get at also. Are there any trick tools to make it easier to get at??
  17. I bought some rustoleum oil based enamel and lacquer thinner. But on the paint it says to thin with acetone or mineral spirits only. And you thin it 4 parts paint to 1 part lacquer correct?
  18. When I dissassembled my 6 liter z I noticed that the driveshaft hardware had stretched or somehow loosened. 480hp > cheap hardware
  19. Free wheels for anyone local.. http://appleton.craigslist.org/pts/1622509093.html http://appleton.craigslist.org/pts/1622499986.html Not a whole lot of new progress.. winter sucks..
  20. Awesome price!! I just wish I would get my but out in the freezing garage and use my Syncrowave some more. Not a prob for you in Florida huh. Lets see some updated pics of your project sometime.
  21. Easier to use on my iPhone. But the pinned topics are hard to differentiate.
