  2. Adding the output of the relay to the existing starter wire will not cause any problems, it would be the equivalent of adding a remote starter. You could disable the starter wire in the column and connect that directly to the relay and utilize the factory wiring.
  3. I do not think they are the same, jmbranger Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada smokin-geez Hudson, Quebec, Canada I don't buy anything on e-Bay that is not listed. I look at as being lazy, "I have a crap load of parts, but don't feel like listing what I have"
  4. You can find them on yahoo japan on occasion http://auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/
  5. Here is one on e-Bay, I talked (e-mail) to the owner if it was a actual Fairlady. He confirmed that it has a Fairlady Z emblem on the dash. He had it listed the first go around for $1500.00 (reserve not met) as of now 01/12/09 for $1000.00 (reserve not met) http://tinyurl.com/7aqa9a

I am going to address the rear end issue then get on the engine. I guess I need to pull the lifters and clean them, do the timing belt and water pump and heed NissanEgg's advice on the seals. "Looks like you got a great deal! If there are any parts you need, my brother and I are parting out an 84 ae, so if you need anything we probably can help you" I do need some interior pieces "Nice buy. Looks from the pictures that your definitely going to need to replace the rear quarter window seals. And be sure to check the spare wheel well and driver side rear for water damage. Pretty easy to do, done it on 3 of the 4 Z31's I've had" The wheel well is good, but I noticed that the rear right side has bolt in panel that needs to be replaced. Overall this car does not have major rust issues! When I get the suspension/rear end issues and the engine clatter gone. I will be finally be able to drive it for more than 100 yards. The PO stated he had a good bit of service done to the car and was to furnish a stack of receipts to me, but could not find them. He was a little vague about what was replaced and when, so It went through one ear and out the other. In that stack was new timing belt and water pump receipts. Is it easy to discern a recently replaced belt, or is it not worth risking? Arnie
  7. "Eurospec complete Quarter Panels just waiting for my 76 Fairlady Z 2/2 restoration" Tony, what is the "Eurospec". Is the only difference no provision for side markers? "Eurospec" vs. JDM? please elaborate
  8. Can anybody tell if that S30 is RHD? It looks like the fender emblem is masked and it has rear side markers. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8aR9VFo4GEE&feature=channel_page
  9. "I am currently building a second subwoofer for parties primarily, but it will sit between the two main speakers under the projected screen... conceivably it could just stand up in the corner of the room, but I think I would have to secure it somehow. The specs read: Freq Range 26hz-200hz (-3db) Drivers: 880 watt RMS, 1760 watt peak Max SPL at 100 watts - 130db Amplifier: 1024 watt RMS 8 x 10" Subwoofers 4 x 4" Mid Bass (the sub will also serve as a center speaker...) 4 x 3" Tweeters (the sub will also serve as a center speaker...) Outside dimension... 96"x30"x24". Approximate weight... 400lbs. I have about $750 invested in this bad boy. Hopefully it doesn't sound like crap when I am done." What kind of drivers are you using? Are the 4" divers closed back? How are you wiring it ? Mono, Stereo or LCR? What are you doing for crossovers? That thing needs wheels! "I will add a small sub later to pick up some of the low's, don't want to muddy those 685's. Any recomendations?? " HORN SUBWOOFER Here is a idea to give you a little "Low End" http://www.royaldevice.com/custom.htm Best album to "break in" some new speakers!

I finally drove the car today, I replaced the master and slave cylinder, and did the damper mod. It was rather depressing, it sounds like the diff mount is shot, springs and struts feel really bad. It had a little valve/lifter clatter when I first got it home, I changed the oil and it is now louder? Has anybody built a solid diff mount for a Z31?
  13. i have hundreds of good used 240z 260z 280z 280zx and 300zx parts for the 1970 to 1989 models years available. both trim and mechanical. please contact me and i will be happy to list your specific part if i have it and also provide an accurate shipping cost with tracking to your zip or postal code. to comply with ebay listing rules, this auction is for a picture and shipping cost quote of your part needs. if you are the winner of the auction when i list the item for you, i will deduct the cost of THIS auctionswinning bid from your specific part ebay auction invoice. this way i can keep my selling prices lower than if i listed 50 to 100 items individually. thanks jim So what happens when you win the $.99 auction and he does not have the part you need? That has me thinking.... http://motors.shop.ebay.com/merchant/jmbranger
  14. I do not have a cover. Have you tried the high beams? Put a meter or test light at the headlights? The combo switch could have issues, I may have a working one for you, from a 73. Did you actually ever see the clock work? I bet that 60% of S30's don't have a working clock.
  15. Steve if your harness is butchered, I have a non molested one for you. It still has the plugs for the radio intact.
  16. 1973 Opel Manta Rallye 4 speed with wide Libre's. Drove that until "I" paid for my first car in 1983, 75 Fairlady Z, that someday soon will be on the road again.
  17. Here is a recent thread addressing some of the issues involved in a LHD to RHD conversion. http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=139387
  18. That is exactly what would happen to me except the U turn driver would call 911 and report that a "drunk driver" had a accident. Too bad the driver doesn't know about the video, he may have been cited for "failure to control speed". I got one of those on New Years day, many years ago.
  19. Do you get excited when UPS delivers her a new purse, shoes, earrings, etc.? Same thing, but different.
  20. Somehow you are feeding the constant 12 volt for the hazards back into the the fuse box. Are the hazards and blinkers working correctly?
