  1. there's no filter inside the gas tank. I would check the fuel lines though. My Z actually had a nasty nasty kink in the fuel line that would only allow enough fuel to let the car idle and run REALLY lean (it would rev fine, but put any load on it and it would get really pissed off)
  2. haha nice grumpy, it's a wheel boot for the steering~!
  3. my favorite style of motorcycle. Good luck on your project!
  4. I don't think you can edit a post after a certian amount of time. as for your AFM (the proper name for it) I don't have a cover on it. AIR won't hurt it, but WATER will. it'll corrode the contacts and screw it up. and since you're in Washington, I suggest you do seal it up (I'm in AZ, corrosion doesn't exist >_>) get yourself a 9v battery and an injector plug, and see if you hear the injectors clicking. if you hear a click when you plug your battery in, it's opening. I would change your fuel filter too. Also, take the hose off the input for your fuel pump, and clean the screen out. (it doesn't hurt to put a Fram G3 filter in there too, incase you have a dirty tank like I do) change out your main fuel filter if you haven't already.
  5. I THOUGHT something was different! Congrats grumpy
  6. yeah, but a 426 hemi is quite a bit shorter than an inline6 I've seen bugs with blown V8's crammed into the FRONT of them haha (though iirc, they had to move the firewall back a bit, meaning slightly less leg room) anyways, i dion't know all the exact dimensions, so if you checked them all then maybe it can fit in the back where the seats go. dunno what kind of trans you'd hook it up to though.
  7. Kennedy Engineering is the company that makes adaptors. as for putting the engine in the passenger compartment, the engine is so LONG that even that wouldn't be easy. if you put the engine inside, the front of the engine would come right up to the back of the front seats, and the back of the engine would most likely sit almost right at the firewall. it's also so long you can't fit it sideways. if you tried putting it in the rear, you'd have the last 2 cylinders sticking way out the back of the car, and if you tried putting it in the front, you'd have the same problem. basically, a straight 6 in a bug can't happen unless you did something like strech the car a few feet.
  8. I think the L series is quite a bit too long to be able to shove it into a bug. V8's fit well, but that's because they're short, and even then they aren't easy to fit.
  9. pulling the injectors isn't that hard. it should only take 30-45 minutes to do it. or maybe it's that I've done it so often I can do it in less than an hour haha
  10. I can see the resemblance to a JGTC car. it's an edgy wide body kit that alters the entire shape of the car for the most part. I think the panel job could've been done better. I like how it was done on the rear tail lights. had he gone for a more subtle look it would've overall looked much nicer.
  11. what head/block combo are you using? for that low of PSI I'd say that's pretty good.
  12. now THAT is how you build a sleeper! and yeah, 11s at 130mph major wheelspin at the start for sure. I bet if he put some slicks on it and a wheelie bar at the back to reduce weight transfer it could drop a couple seconds off its time.
  13. the difference was his 15 second time was with his destroyed cat plugging everything up lol
  14. multiplication, then division then subtraction. -47*100 is -4700 -4700/100 is -47 147+(-47)=100 simple order of operations stuff from pre-algebra (elementary stuff basically...)
  15. I always make sure to close the lid THEN flush otherwise it'll get clogged.
  16. nah, it's still hidden. figuring out which mess of wires it is if you can find it isn't easy. I'd rather have a kill switch hidden in the dash or something though that cuts all electrical power from the battery
  17. it means that she's a chick and doesn't like awesome sports cars. none the less, it's a scam 100% the line that annoys me is this what does THIS have anything to do with being a woman?and by "we" she means the buyer and seller will use the ebay protection. (which is a lie)
  18. you can get near 30mpg with an L28et if you tune it right with megasquirt. I think for a high performance turbocharged car that's pretty damn good. I'm not sure what it would do to the handling, but from what I understand, a stock Z with the stock engine is pretty close to being 50/50, so lightening the front may upset that balance. you can probably find a lot of answers to your questions by searching a bit.
  19. my hidden kill switch is the fuel pump wire under the passenger floor mat lol though, having one that kills the starter would be much nicer.
  20. I don't really think it's a "soul" but certian cars do have a very strong personality on the verge of being a soul. Like my car enjoy's cheering me up whenever i'm feeling depressed that in the year I've owned her I've not been able to register and drive her, by doing things like showing a bit more of her emerald hidden under all that ore (like when I realized my wiring harness has never been hacked into, and is still fully held in place by 30 year old duct tape, or little things like that, that make me realize I've got quite a gem) I think it's because of that personality my car has that makes me not want to make it a perfect looking car. I don't mind if it looks a bit ratty and unrefined/unfinished, I like that about it. of course I'll change things to make it look more pleasing (like the san andreas dash) but I doubt I'll do something like a full paintjob or rebuild. I think most old cars are like this though. They all have their own personalities and quirks that make us like them more. I don't think many newer car's have that same...what's the word...oh, the same trait as older cars do, but some also have that strong feeling that they have their own personality
  21. lol yeah, I hardly pay attention to my own posts. I was reading some older posts and suddenly I noticed it hahaha I should be more observant.
  22. o-O when did you guys change my user title again?! Ugh you really reminded me of this horrid dream I had last night.
  23. Yep, I need to fix my fuel gauge. it reads half full when it's full, and it reads below E when it's at E. and I dont even know how much gas it has when it does hit E. I tend to just figure out the milage and estimate from what the gauge says. I should fix it soon.
  24. wow...that's like a mechanics dream house or something hahaha. That place looks so awesome.
