  1. your backhoe must have like, rotars and con rods and ♥♥♥♥ doesn't it!?
  2. man, I'm glad I got a 170 (?) peice craftsman set for x-mas. also, flare wrench's are your friends. I even used it to take off my fan to make sure I didn't screw up the little nuts holding it on.
  3. yeah, I've always thought that turbo subies wore out headgaskets pretty quickly
  4. you can always just find out the diameter and length of the stock springs, then go to basically any spring manufacture, and order that length/diameter you need. I'm sure a company like Sway-a-way would have springs in teh size you need.
  5. Yep, that's exactly what I notice. I try to avoid going up to 6500, so I usually shift just a tad after 6000. in 3rd I do feel a slight dip in power like you said. Actually having to rev it up to 6k to get a good pull out of 4th reminds me of the block brace spoon made for the honda civic. it makes the engine run smoother and bring its useable rpm range up to near 10k. you won't make much more power by reving it that high, but it helps since when you shift, you stay right inside the strongest point in the power band. but anyways, that's off topic... 3rd gear will top out a 90mph at around 6k I think, maybe a bit higher, so yeah, shifting into 4th wouldn't be much of any use. But because of that I sort of want to put a 3.70 into my 78 instead of the 3.545
  6. the little plate in the engine bay says it makes peak power at 5600rpm. makes sense too. My 78 pulls hard up to 6k, then dies. 6k is basically the shift point. but it will rev up to 6500+ (but it's not a good idea to)
  7. sounds like the bands are getting worn? we had a 1993 blazer 2wd that did that and had to get the transmission replaced (instead of rebuilt we swapped it with a newer unit my uncle had) my 1990 bronco II's overdrive was totally shot, then it got worse and if starting from a stop it would act like it's in neutral and rev to the limiter then launch. eventually the transmission went 100% dead. your transmission is on its way to a rebuild. stop using overdrive and take it easy till you can rebuild it.
  8. Agreed I'm also quite biased towards subies. Get it! it's a pretty sweet looking little car. Not to mention the SOUND of the subaru is amazing, and comes second only to the sound of a screaming stroker L-series in my book.
  9. I don't think so. From what I understand a diffuser is in place to clean up the turbulent air under the car, straightening it out so it exits the underside better. that second part is actually what the diffuser does. it cleans and directs the turbulent air under the car, so it gets sucked out of the low pressure wake just behind the car.
  10. Yeah, we know the seller. and I don't think anyone likes his stuff.
  11. Here's how I see it. There can be hundreds of C63 AMG's, but there's only ONE Aziza. EVER there will NEVER be another aziza. once it's gone, it's gone, and what you get to replace it, is a fancy expensive suit that a bunch of other guys are also wearing. Why not keep the fancy suit that no one in the world has? but that's the reason why no matter what I go through trying to get my car to run good, I will never sell her. My blood, skin, fingerprints, will be engraved on her till the day she dies. That car has become an extension of myself. Selling it would be like cutting off my own limb.
  12. sigh...I wanna see how fast my Z will go on the roads again, but that won't happen for a little while. Oh well, I'm still pleased that I got it up to 115 in 4th at around either 5000 or 5500 (I can't remember right now which it was but I'm sure it's just around 5.4-5.5k with the stock gearing and the tires I have) but I'm with you on that mikelly lots of bs haha
  13. Yeah....I think to run 180mph it takes what, 500-600+ hp in a stock bodied Z? hmm...I remember a website there's a guy with the world land speed record on a 1500cc engine. it took over 600hp in a 1991 mr2 body, to go 205mph. considering how much more aerodynamic an mr2 is, I think it would take quite a bit more power to get a Z up to the same speed http://www.bobnorwood.com/The%20Fastest%20Little%20Sports%20Car%20in%20Utah.htm there it is. It's a really good read too.
  14. not just that, but he looks like a pretty freakin good driver to be able to handle that huge car like that. I mean, those things were basically built just to go straight really fast haha.
  15. ah, so, since you've shown that those cylinders won't work with those injectors, have you switched the location of the injectors to see if the problem follows the injector as it moves to a different cylinder? I thought I had a similar problem, except the problem didn't move from injector to injector. I found out that cylinder 3 was leaking out the exhaust valve very badly.
  16. I don't get why so many people are hating on it. I mean, there WAS an inline 6 option for them when they came out. bunch of morons they are.
  17. color of that paint doesn't look too bad either. kinda reminds me of the 240zg in a way.Awesome find too!
  18. I havent tried this so I can't remember, but if you send money via paypal with money ALREADY in your paypal account, then paypal won't tack on that fee right? so if it's a big dollar transaction, wouldn't it be helpful for both parties if the buyer sent the money to his paypal, then sent it to the seller? I know it takes almost a week to do, but in the end it can save both parties some money.
  19. nothing! Hurry! I used to buy/sell paintball parts a lot on a particular website, and most of us would tack on the paypal fee to whatever price we had set just to make it easier. the only additional fee would be shipping (but for a lot of things shipping was included) the only one who would know there was a paypal fee would be the seller if they didn't say anything.
  20. they have pics of their duals I like that you can change the color of the needles. Ya know what, I really think I might switch all my gauges to ones from these guys one day. I really like them
  21. They do make custom gauges. I would shoot them an email and ask if they could do that. I'm sure they could!
  22. yeah, that just doesn't look right on the Z
  23. Ummm fix your broken doors. I'm sure fixing whatever is causing them not to close will be over 9000% easier and over 9000% better looking.
