  2. live in round rock worked by a media blasting place awhile ago its where howard and metric meetin that wharehouse district bunch of shops over there think it might be on benchmark or the street after that from what i was told you need to bring the whole car in not just parts hope this helps
  3. how did you mount the seats I have been looking at sparco seats for my 76 please let me know if you bought an aftermarket mounting kit and if ay modifications are needed through the stock mounts thanks
  4. I live in Round Rock neither one of my cars are running right now so no cruisin for me currently

  7. wow! your driving that Z for a daily driver dude how do you afford the gas!? i drove mine in high school when it was like a buck fifteen and was still hurtin couldn't imagine driven my 81 like that anymore
  8. had a buddy with a 260 and was driving behind him as we were taking a turn and watched his fuel spill all over the road due to brittle or dried filler hose which wasn't hard to replace but you should have a drain plug as stated earlier by austin 240z just remove the straps and vent lines do you know where the gas is coming from?

    Fuel Tank

if you don't mind do you know where that fuel tank came from thanks
  10. ok i've seen them on MSA's website and I keep going back and forth about the stock hood and the cowl hood. I really like the stock hood on the 76 280z but I also like the picutres i've seen on MSA's website. so please let me know if anyone has any pictures with this cowl hood installed on their s30 thanks GH
  11. if you have an unlimited budget and a full comprehention of building then i would say buy a used formula block and assemble it with the stroke, lift and all the other ratios you need for a high rev but consider this, the original l28 blocks and are easy to modify and cost far less then finding and salvaging an exotic engine. my personal opinion is that the l28 has all the highreving and sound you want. drop some carbs shorten the stroke, add the mikuni's or webbers (tuned right of course) and add the velocity stacks with the right exhaust and you'll have the sound you've been hunting for theres a dude that claims he's stroked and bored his to a 3.1 on youtube.com his sounds great and i think thats the sound your looking for with out the weight and cost i have an 81 z that will get close to 8k without popping and sound great with an open exhaust (no cat) good luck
  12. isn't stupid how a 500-1500 body will end up costing thousands to get it close to what you want and then even more for what you really want?!
  13. thank you much mr. pparaska almost done with school so my wife is gonna give me the go to start on the car soon trying to get all my info straight to make it a little easier.
  14. do you know of a good source to buy one of these for a good price and which one in particular i saw the 240sx mentioned earlier. rear ends are a new subject for me, and i'd lke my project to have as little failures as possible the body is almost done and the engine will be built this summer.
  15. ok i see that this one has been pushed along for a quite a bit and its still alive so i don't feel ashamed for asking this. 1. did we ever get a final note on the obx setup 2. i have 76 with what i am assuming is a longnose r200 in it. I will have over the 400ft-lbs. mark due to a v8 swap so should i go with the obx or start saving now for the quaife? 3. what was the final verdict for what is needed for the obx swap to the r200 (washer placement, halfshafts, cv's etc.) thanks i've read through all of this but there is so much to breathe in!! is this a sticky by the way?
  16. i know that this is kind of a old topic but has anyone put a 9" wide rim on the rear or their 72-78 280z and had a good outcome or will they even fit? thanks
  17. 600 is a steal depending on the condition and how much clean up is needed. but still a really good deal someone should strike on those soon
  18. those carbs come up on ebay everyonce in awhile and most of the time they just need to be cleaned and rebuilt end up being half the cost of new and then you could send them out to get coated or polished, brakes are a good way to go though if you making more power you should always increase your stopping power. its the adult thing to do!! LOL also check you head options i have an 81 with a snyder mid range cam and it pulls pretty hard at about 2k-6k
  19. not sure if its called this "squirt" its a manual EFI system that you tune yourself and everyone that I have seens install this component seems to to be very satisfied. if your going with a bigger stroke don't forget the exhaust. If you make your engine breathe more the more it needs to exspell the exhaust. if you go with the carbs and are knowledgable on them I reccomend the tripple webbers, they'll make anyone cream.
  20. currently talking to marc at ARB about the air locker setup sounds like it will take some serious torque and for the price it seems like a good deal. after that install is taken care of i'll install the half shafts and get the adapters from MMA and the mounts will be aluminum once i get to this point i wil update everyone with the results
  21. I will intentionally stay above the 10's in the Z plus the tires i'll have on it won't be able to hook up and launch hard without breaking the tires loose. I've already got a 9 sec track car so i'm good there this Z project is mainly for the street, track days will be few. the big principle aboout this car is the handling I have an 81 that I bought in high school and have always loved the handling capabilities of the Z's hence the reason why I bought the 76 would the phantom grip product eliminate the pin problem or would the ARB locker work as well still want to hear from someone with one of these two products installed thanks for the input
  22. oh and if someone has used the ARB setup please let me know how the install was and what the general outcome was like or dislike
