Well, thanks all, but the point is moot. I just received the seats and they are darker than they appear in the photo. No need for a dye-job. They are also in excellent condition.

I do like the new 350Z, but is not what I was hoping for. I would have liked it to looked more like the 240Z. Like what VW did with the beetle. You look at the new Beetle and you know it's a Beetle. You look at the 350Z and you think "nice car, what is it?" The V6 was a mistake as well. They had a pefectly suitable engine in the RB26 series. I came to within one day of preordering the 350Z. I had worked out a deal with a local Nissan dealership, and I only needed to come in a sign the papers. But, I backed out on the last day. I had my 240Z sitting in my shop gathering dust, and I really needed a truck or SUV (country living). So, I went the praticle route and dropped the 350Z idea, sold my Impreza RS and got the SUV. Now I'm spending all my money on the 240Z, and I only get pangs of regret on the few occasions I see pictures of the 350Z. On those occasions I try to imagine spanking a 350Z with my hybrid 240Z, and I feel better

I agree. The 575 Fsrrari is closest to what I imagined the new Z should look like. With some minor changes. Lose the shark gill side vents. Lose the hood scoop, and give it the Z hump. Give the quarter windows a little classic z shape. Maybe shorten and lower the tail (more drop-off) a bit.

What would be the optimum Rear end ratio for the following configurations: 200hp NA L28 / 280Z 5-Speed 300hp L28 Turbo / 5-Speed 350hp LS1 / T556. The car would mostly be used as daily driver / street terrorizer. Note: I have a Z-Car 5-speed, but I have no idea which one.

Thanks pparaska, I think I understand now. R200LSD + 280Z stub axles + RossC's CV shaft adapters + 280ZXT (or 2+2) half shafts = drive train that can handle 300hp - 350Hp? Thanks denny411! Wow, 12 of them. Who'd a thunk it! I have searched www.car-part.com for other parts before. But I hadn't yet searched for a LSD. When I'm ready (got the money) I'm sure I'll go that direction.

You forgot one part... Looks good, last long time,best of all, doesn't make a mess of your clothes, COST MORE MONEY. I would rather do the re-upholstery job myself and save the bucks. I also forgot to mention that I work in a Aircraft service / refurb center. I know dozens of people who are very good at upholstery. A few of which who do auto-upholstery on the side for considerably less mulah than the pro shops. When I get back to work tomarrow I plan to pick a few brains about this re-dye subject.

Hey thanks for the info SpeedRacer, I think I'll give it a try. Is there some sort of special upholstery soap I should look for (brand name)? I figure worst come to worst, I'll have to re-upholster the seats. I kind'a want to do the leather thing anyway.

Yeah, I've become an eBay addict. I have at least 10 items on my watch list at all times. I check it at least twice a day. I keep my MSA and VB catalogs beside the computer so I can compare prices. Good example: VB list a new passenger door pull for $29.95 + $4.00 shipping. I got one (new as well) off eBay for $25.00 + $4.00 shipping. Saved $4.95. Yeah, those are the two things I was worried about: Streaking (un-even color) & rub-off. I'm betting the "cloth" is some sort of poly-synthetic-stuff, and would'nt take dye very well. I just bought a set of 1995 Mazda Miata seats for my 240Z. Does anybody know of a good way to re-dye them? The color is dark enough that I could probably get away with then as is, but I would like to dye them jet-black. They are cloth. I guess I could search for Miata seat Upholstery kits, but I'm cheap.

Yeah, "Japandy" is sort of a celebrity in the ricer community. If I could find clear and concise info on the Z32 R230LSD swap I would go that way, but so far all I've seen is vague at best. My plan as of this moment is to either... 1. Find a JY R200LSD from 87-89 300ZXTurbo or... 2. Get a JY 280Z(XT) R200 and buy a "new" LSD.
