  1. Well, if reliability were the chief factor, I'd get a Toyota 2JZ-GTE (blasphemy! ) I had a 1983 Supra. I sold it with 240,000+ miles on it 4 years ago. I still the see girl I sold it to driving it around town.
  2. That is insane http://www.hybridz.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=21415
  3. Are there any major differences in the engines?
  4. RB25DET is an option. What is the difference between: R32 Front Clip: $5,500 (RB26DETT) R33 Front Clip: $6,500 (RB26DETT) R34 Front Clip: $8,000 (RB26DETT) other than price?
  5. Just for giggles: The Ultimate Hybrid. How about a Rolls Royce Merlin V12 powered '55 Chevy Belair? (3000 bhp)
  6. P.S The "Anvil #136 Anvil Cotton Deluxe Solid Panel Brushed Twill Cap" is a nice cap, and available from many custom logo apparel companies. They run about $5.50 a cap. (without custom logo)
  7. Time to throw that old floor-jack out.
  8. After a little bit of photoshopping:
  9. I too would be interested in a couple T-shirts (White, Gray or Black) I would also be interested in the ball-caps, but only if that are not those cheap mesh backed type, or the type with the stiff front panel. Good cap type = Looky here: http://www.lids.com/pid/1111353 Bad cap Type = or
  10. I like 'em both. But I fear that the car outlines would not show up on ash grey shirts.
  11. This will not help you at all, but this is how Ztherapy say they do it...
  12. I’m sitting here dreaming about a powerplant for my Z. I say “dreaming†because at the moment I haven’t the money to do any serious planning. Now I am focusing on body- work, interior restoration, brakes, drive-line & basic suspension items. I want 300 to 350 HP (flywheel). Getting 300+ HP out a L28 may be possible, but not very streetable in a fair-weather, daily driver kind’a way. I love the smooth power of an inline 6 and the thump of a big V8, but I do lean towards the inline 6. I’ve narrowed my options down to either a LS1 or a RB26DETT. I THINK the LS1 would be, in the long run, the less expensive option, but I really love inline 6’s and I really want to explore that option.. My questions for you RB’ers are… Where did get your RB26DETT and about how much was the cost? Where are you getting parts for these engines? What modifications are required on the engine to make it work in a Z? What modifications are required on the car? I read that the RB oil-pan must be replaced or modified. Does anybody sell the correct or modified oil-pan? Do you know of any website that gives good, detailed information about the swap? Thanks, Boob…
  13. Here's a good link to the head light relay mod... (pparaska's site) http://mywebpages.comcast.net/pparaska/Headlight_Relay_pg1.htm
  14. Here's another rattle can job. The flat black does have an intimidating look about it.
  15. Just in case nobody saw this at the bottom of a previous post.... You can also make your own. (you can get round acrylic rods here )
  16. Who said anything about a one shot deal. I will use mine to disaasemble the car, grind, sand, media blast, paint, and reassemble the car. Plus any other home projects that come up. Example: This fall I plan to overhaul and re-paint my lawn-tractor. Most of these car projects take years. Why buy a decent socket wrench set when Visegrips will do the same job for less. Why stick your self with substandard equipment that will barely do the job and won't last.
  17. Look here... http://www.soda-blaster.com/services.htm
  18. I have friend who does a LOT of auto-body work and he swears by DeVILBISS paint guns. (HVLP or otherwise) Are far as compressors go some things I've been told to look for... Large reservoir tank. 60 to 80gal min. --- Less pump cycling = Longer pump Life. Two stage pump. With cooler. --- Higher air pressure. (175psi) --- Higher Air Flow (17CFM @ 175psi) --- Dryer air out-put = Longer tool life & Better paint jobs. --- Lower Pump RPM = Longer Pump Life. --- Less pump cycling = Longer pump Life. Oil System. (Avoid Oil-Free Pumps!) --- Longer Pump Life Magnetic Starter. --- Will save you from replacing the pressure switch many times. I am very seriously considering one of these Air compressors at $1000.00 it is expensive, but you get more than you would get with other similarly priced compressors.
  19. I didn't say they don't look good. But I truely believe that they are trailer lights.
  20. Direct link. http://www.momentummotorparts.com/pages/mmpangels.html $139.00 USD a pair.
  21. They look like a product of home engineering and boat trailer lights.
  22. My first 240Z was rattle can flat black. (bought it that way). I called it either the "Stealth Z" or the "Moonshine Runner." Kind'a liked it that way. I never re-painted it. I just touched-up the fading spots occasionally. How many cans did it take?
  23. I think the only ones that would work are from the MK1 MR2 as all the others have wrap-around tail-lights. Not a great deal of difference than the stock tail-lights.
