  1. I should clarify that I live in San Diego metro where parking and space is limited. An RV isn't really ideal, haha. Side question: what does a track-loaded trailer generally weigh? Sorry, new to this.
  2. Curious to know what you guys are using as a tow vehicle. My project is almost finished and it's very track-dedicated, so I need to start considering options. I want to buy a new daily soon (looking to spend under $15k....not financing) and it'd be nice if I could find something that could do both. Main problem: I'm not a fan of trucks. Any 4runner/VW Toureg/etc out there that could do the job? Another option: I buy a daily I actually want and a very cheap truck that gets the job done. Recommendations if I go that route?
  3. Excuse the shotty hardware...had to go through the scrap bin at the new shop. Rear window is a lexan one provided by Benchmark with hardware/straps. Overall very impressed with the quality the hatch. There was a couple of waves that required a few hours of work, but I'm sure that's to be expected with most FG parts.
  4. Followed Tube's suggestion. Turned out well and lined up decent enough with a bit of weather stripping. Two 1/4 pins on each side using nutserts. Used the existing brackets for the aerocatch rods and added my own ugly brackets/welds to stiffen them up.
  5. Replace the bolt in question. As someone else pointed out, it looks cross-threaded.

  7. Ah, thank you for the info, and for the warning. I'll probably just pin it, but we'll see how I'm feeling in the next week or so.
  8. Bought Aerocatch pins ages ago back when I thought I was getting a FG hatch from ______ with hinge provisions. Just got my hatch from Benchmark Composites last week and it doesn't look possible to run the stock hinges...right? I have no real need to open the hatch on a regular basis and not against pinning all four corners, but I'm still running hinges/two aerocatches in the front and had it in my head that I'd do the same for the back. I've typed this out and it's rather obvious now, but hey, I typed. Photo of
  9. Not the car I'd build, but we're all in it to do our own thing. Nothing but respect, Riley; the car is amazing. Psyched you ride, too, haha...so random.
  10. Amazing work. I know it's personal preference, but that dash is just too much. Everything else is so understated and thought out...
  11. Looks awesome. Roll that thing outside and lets get some all-encompassing photos.
  12. Not a week. Dash is pretty dust-covered, but it's back in for a bit.
  13. Decide what you want out of the car the car first. If you want to do a full restore, resell it...you'll get 700 back. If you want to put a few grand into it and have fun, just rip it around.
  14. I've moved my flares around quite a lot over the few years they've been on. First mounted with screws, then nutserts. When one nutsert hole failed/ovalized, I cut out a square, patched it, and reinserted it (I eventually ended up welding 'em in).
  15. Re-do them? Flares definitely look really generic to me. Where'd you get them?
  16. I would gladly re-order the fiberglass parts from another vender if they were available.
  17. No. Dude is a scam. Here's a stickie I had saved on my computer while my order was in limbo. Info gotten mostly from whois.net domain info and searching bits of information from there : James Jenns 2015793077 - (number he uses for Datsun Fiberglass) 50 Spring Street Ramsey, New Jersey Wayne Tile Co (also located at 50 Spring Street. I called them and they verified there was no auto business in their block. 18. However bad you think it looks, it's probably worse. I put 28 different patches/pieces of metal in my car...took around six months, working off and on. I suggest you search. Lots of people have done the repair work and documented it.
  19. I got my hood from here. Good quality. http://www.up22.com/GTO_Anglia.htm Ordered my hatch (picking it up next week) from Benchmark Composites. Same as in this post: http://forums.hybridz.org/topic/121065-280z-track-car-by-performance-motorsports-fabrication/
