Whoa! I dont care what state of completeness the bodywork on Porker is in, you drive that thing over here even if you have to wipe some peep holes through the bondo dust on the windshield :D As for bringing wives and G/Fs, does not matter to me. Typically the other guys do not, so if she gets bored hanging with gearheads.......

No. I am talking about this coming Sunday 11/26.

Folks, 240Z Turbo (James Thagard) is coming to Orlando next week and will be stopping by my home on Sunday afternoon. Been a while since we had a get together and there are a lot of new Orlandoans on the forum that have never met each other. This is an invitation to come on over on Sunday and do a little socializing and meet some of the faces behind the keyboards. Nothing formal has been planned except we could shoot for about 3pm. Let me know if there is interest although Jim and I will be hooking up regardless.

Interesting concept. I am sure the I/C flows enough to satifiy what you plan on doing but I would have a concern about the I/C being physically attached to the radiator tank and being IN the engine compartment. The concern is heat transfer from the radiator and heat soak for the engine compartment. OTOH, I am really picky about an I/C and have different requirements.

Folks, I planned on using a 3.5" electric cutout on my car but decided to dump my WG to the atmo instead. It is up for sale on eBay if anyone is interested. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=8014182638&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMESE%3AIT&rd=1 Most of the cutouts are 3" and this one is a monster 3.5". The kit includes a 3" to 3.5" adaptor if you have a 3" Y-connector.

I never go to the "Announcements" forum much and did not realize this old post was brought out of cobwebs. Ron, apologize for not seeing and acknowledging your thank you, so thank you for the kind words. I have had a string of bad luck with the "new" car and need to hang a fresh bundle of garlic over the garage door Do not regret making the switch but have to admit that every tme I have a problem I do reflect on the past. The car is a Caddy compared to the Z and has even registered 33mpg cruising back from a Reynolds trip last night. If I did not have witnesses I would not have believed it myself. As for performance, the niggling little issues has the car struggling with a best of 10.70s @ 128 but I am a long way from maximum boost/tune so there is still hope to hold off some of the young 'uns Do not post as much and not as active since a medical issue last new year but still happy to know I contributed to the Z community by introducing or making popular things like SDS, NPR, SVO injs, DP for a stocker among others. There are some brilliant minds on this forum and combined with the classy attitudes and willingness to share, it is the absolute best technical forum in existence, BAR NONE! Even when I am trying to turbo my wheelchair, I will still be hanging out here.

A cowboy walks into a bar and no more than two steps in he realizes it's a gay bar. "What the heck," he says to himself, "I really want a drink." When the gay waiter approaches, he says to the cowboy, "What's the name of your willy?" The cowboy says, "Look, I'm not into any of that. All I want is a drink." The gay waiter says, "I'm sorry but I can't serve you until you tell me the name of your willy. Mine for instance is called NIKE, for the slogan 'Just Do It.' That guy down at the end of the bar calls his SNICKERS, because 'It really Satisfies.'" The cowboy looks dumbfounded, so the bartender tells him he will give him a second to think it over. So the cowboy asks the man sitting to his left who is sipping on a beer, "Hey bud, what's the name of yours?" The man looks back and says with a smile, "TIMEX." The thirsty cowboy asks, "Why Timex?" The fella proudly replys, "'Cause it takes a lickin' and keeps on tickin!'" A little shaken, the cowboy turns to two fellas on his right, who happen to be sharing a fruity Margarita and says, "So, what do you guys call yours?" The first man turns to him and proudly exclaims, "FORD, because 'Quality is job One'" Then he adds, "Have you driven a Ford lately?" The guy next to him then says, "I call mine CHEVY...'Like a Rock!'" and gives a wink! Even more shaken, the cowboy has to think for a moment before he comes up with a name for his manhood. Finally, he turns to the bartender and exclaims, "The name of my willy is SECRET. Now give me a beer." The bartender begins to pour the cowboy a beer, but with a puzzled look asks, "Why Secret?" The cowboy says, "Because it's 'STRONG ENOUGH FOR A MAN, BUT MADE FOR A WOMAN!!!!!!"

Hinson does not have a car that even comes close to running low-8s.

You should be able to get cheap flights into Atlanta. Fly in and hop down to the next SEZ if you wanna hang with a couple of hundred hybridZers.

I forgot which shifter you have but most B&M ratchet shifters use the same cable brackets. Note I said brackets because they supply "one-fits-all" brackets so using the proper holes on the bracket for the cable end AND the bracket that bolts to the pan is critical. Here are the instructions for the Pro-Ratchet I used on the GNZ. If the brackets look different, then back up on the URL to "products" and find the instructions specific to your model. http://www.bmracing.com/media/products/pdf/20.pdf

Car has tons of potential and crowd appeal. Needs a line-loc for better burnouts, better foot brakes (rear) or hand brake to take advantage of that stall, fix the shifter problem, get the AFR down to about 11.50+, and a little more seat time and the car will break into 10s w/o touching the boost, and at 20psi Mike has not even gotten the attention of that turbo yet. Not to steal Mike's glory but to add to the frustration of the day, I broke on the very pass. Got there early to do an easy shakedown pass and left the line with a lazy launch (1.94). Started feeling a nasty vibration at the 1/8-mile, eased off the throttle a little and the rear driveshaft u-joint let go big time at the 1000'. Coasted thru at 107mph and the car still went 11.50. Gonna have to revist my driveline alignment as it seems something is awry as this is a 3" steel shaft with the big Spicer joints, same as I used in the GNZ. Big time KUDOS to Speeder for taking time from his day to drive me home to get my P'uP workhorse and tow me home. Nothing like having friends ready and willing when you ned them. Despite the frustration, it was great to hang with a bunch of Zers once again. Lets do this more often. Not to forget, congrats to Ken for getting Carlos' stock L28ET 240Z down the track nicely with a 13.75 and 13.73. Hey bracket racer . For a Zer, it was great to see Ken and Mike line up and run. Mini-SEZ.

WOW! I have to come over and check it out in person.

Gabe, I do not think anyone here and the HybridZ community as a whole would mind the exposure I think folks would get a kick out of seeing that noisy LS1 TransAm being owned. You know the one. BTW, I went back and dug up that timeslip to see the 60' and it was a 1.45. Dang, it looks so slow on video.

Glad to see the SEZ making it to someplace like Steetfire where the world can see. Great flashback seeing the GNZ casually ripping off a 10.18 :D. Whoever submitted those to Streetfire, THANKS!

Double WOWs. Thanks John.

John, not trying to convince you one way or the other, but be aware of some of the other expenses of a TT setup that could make this an expensive venture. Things such as custom exhaust manifolds, downpipes, BOV(s) if not running an automatic, 2 turbos, I/C and plumbing, custom EFI intake/TB or carbureted setup, engine management system, etc, etc. etc. The above could easily add $4K-$5K to the cost.
-
How fast are you looking to go? Do you want a TT setup just because it is different? If you are just looking for power, why not a 427ci stroker kit? Probably end up costing less than building a TT setup.

I would hold off on doing any 2-steps, DIS-6, et al and put the money in a turbo upgrade. From my old L28ET experience, I would roast the tires badly with the stocker and could not get out of the 2.0x range. I upgraded the turbo and first time out, the car did not "feel the same" off the line but the 60' was 1.74! However, I had already made the decision to do the swap and did not pursue it any further. I think the bigger turbo will allow for a more controlled launch as the stocker has too much of the opposite of lag. I know that is a weird way of saying that but hope you understand what I am trying to say. You have pushed the stocker way beyond its limit and you really need the bigger turbo anyway. -

Jersey, CONGRATS Would love to see what the car would do with a T3/T04 upgrade. -
OK. Stand corrected.
