  1. they all seem to be older than 86. I have seen 5 or 6 in the junk yards, and i get all happy untill i look at the door tag or spin one wheel....no LSD
  2. that is the thing about candy paint it is dark untill the light hits it and bounces off the metalic. here is a darker blue Kandy, see how the close up of the tank looks lighter. the green car in my old post is all one color. that is what i like about it.
  3. I dont know if black will work. But dark silver would. If you go to a paint shop that sells House of color you can see the book they have with all the colors. PPG also sells tinted clears. this is what mine looks like in the sun. yours? Kandy Blue
  4. The paint is 3 stage paint (candy),House of Kolor Kandy. you paint it a metalic first in any color, then you use a tinted clear, then clear it. I used metalic blue then clear green or as House of Kolor would say Kandy.
  5. if it is an 87+ you should grab the LSD diff too
  6. So you guys have fixed up Z's and bikes, I had to sell mine to pay for my RB26DETT.
  7. I had bikes for a long time this was my last one. I just sold it to a buddy before I killed myself. Now he wants to sell it back to me.
  8. Electric superchargers are the best thing since sliced bread! just kidding. but take a look at this one. it might work. more info here http://www.turbodyne.com/products/1500.html
  9. I am going to a local junk yard tomorrow that has a Z31 sitting there. Just wondering what to grab for this new CV swap? CV's and the stub axle? I was planning on getting the R200 as well. Thanks.
  10. SP-1 is what they call an RC51 in Europe. I just did a lot of mods to it and painted it as well, don't like red
  11. with a light color, a lot of people black out behind the gril. so you can't see the sides. I am going satin black, because of all the mods that I am doing under the hood i would more than likley mess the paint up.
  12. STONY looks good, just a tip, at the body shop supply store you can get this paper that is sticky on one side and stops the spark from burning things, like your head liner and glass. I think it is made by 3M. it helps alot when working on a nice car like yours. I e-mailed you back about the sump but my e-mail is down today. and Its my work e-mail so i dont get to see it on the weekends. so if you have any questions or answers to my questions, you can post them on this forum if you want.
  13. yes it is a Z31. I would hold on to all the ZXT shaft parts that you have, just in case.
  14. 11.2 is good, but you need some more traction, you should be in the 10's. the power must come on hard with twin's and nos. what kind of tires did you use for that run?
  15. The ZXT shafts are getting hard to find. The people who rebuild them do not have any. just to let you know, but Ross C is working on a 300ZX CV kit and that is what I am going to go with.
  16. it is just like a racing fuel cell with the pickups on the bottom like that, so i don't know if it would be a problem. here are some photos of fuel cells with the same pick ups
  17. Just made a fuel tank sump for the stock Z tank. If any of you are interested, my friend that owns a custom metal fab shop will make them for 60$. They are laser cut and tig welded, and come with any two Earl's fittings you want welded to them in any location. if you go to this page you will see some photos. This one is for my RB26 swap it will have two -6 fittings on it http://www.rb26dett.freeservers.com/photo.html

  19. with your new CV set up you will be in the 10's, with out a problem. Scottie-GNZ tells me that .1 sec in the 60' = .15 sec in the 1/4. so if you can get your 1.90 down to a 1.6 that = .3 in the 60' and .45 less in the 1/4... so 11.2 - .45 = 10.75!! and if you "stop granny shifting and start double clutching like you should" Quote from The fast and the Furious. LOL that might be good for another .1 or .2 I understand shifting like you do with the old shafts still in the car. looking foward to see you hammer it with CV's. and getting my RB running.
  20. House of Kolor “Kandy Organic Green? that is what i went with. http://www.rb26dett.freeservers.com/images/z-siderb.jpg
  21. Oh, and Scottie-GNZ What size fuel line do you have? my new pump's inlet is -8 and exit is -6 and it is rated for 700HP. I'm in the middle of making a sump on my stock gas tank. i was going to dump out of the sump with two -6's in to one -8 into my filter then through my pump and exit the pump at -6, to the rail past the regulator and back to the tank with a -6. thanks
  22. So what settings should i have my Tokico 5-ways on? And with stock fenders what Weld Draglite and tire size will fit, if i get 8" rear coils for my G-C's Thanks for all your input.
  23. Have you seen this? http://mywebpages.comcast.net/pparaska/structuralmods.htm I did it to my 240Z before I put in my RB26, I'm also thinking of a roll cage.
  24. hi Rick, i e-mailed you a long time ago about your swap. I'm in Winnipeg. So are you out of the Z car thing? are you also selling that silver turbo Z?
