  1. I am looking to find out what RPM the peak power was made on an l24. also I would like to know the cam specs espically the duration. oh and if anyone knows the stock flow of an e88 head that would be great. thanks alot guys.
  2. My '95 GS-R was timed at 14.85 1/4 mile. I think that list is off by a bit.
  3. drift "racing" isnt so much as a type of racing as an art form heh. it is pretty much all for show. It takes a ton of skill to be able to do it right and get the car as sideways as thoes guys and still have complete control. PS. Darius has an 8 point cage I believe. http://www.darius240z.com
  4. a friend of mines, mother's, boyfriend (is there a term for that?) owns a 350z of that color. I LOVE the color. it is so deep and just looks perfect on a 350z. man I would have given up after 2 tries of parking, but then again it looks like it is in SF so maybe I wouldent 'cause parking is a major PITA there. nice of the guy to not steal it though.
  5. hitting on the gateway part of it...I have some friends who are into weed pretty hardcore and everytime I see them they are stoned. also 2 of them sell it. well recently I found out that these guys did shrooms which isnt too bad but it means they have moved up. but even more recently I found out they do coke on a regular basis too. now I am scared for them. these people did use weed as a gateway drug. however, the rest of my friends who smoke it only do it occasinally and just for fun in a group setting. (the other guys would smoke alone and all that.) I think that in moderation weed is not a gateway drug. but once you get heavily into it you feel the need to move on to somthing that will give you a bigger high. this will be the case wether it is legal or not. Nevada has proposed to make small amounts of weed legal. so if it passes it will be a good trial run to see how it will effect things.

  9. thanks len. he is looking at pushing around 300 hp till he upgrades his turbo and goes for 500. will a 2.5" support 300 maybe even 500 hp? chevy guys who push tons of hp still run 2.5 or 3" and their motors are 3 or 4 times bigger than his.
  10. comon aux you just gotta replace the rotors for lower CR. then slap on a pair of sequential turbos and the biggest IC you can find. im sure that will get the little Z movin!
  11. I have an acura integra and I am 6'3" 210 lbs. I enjoy the seats alot, they hold you in nicly and I drive to SF (a 2 hour drive for me) just about every weekend and there is no pain. if you drive for very extended time (im talking 3+ hours) then it might get a bit uncomfortable but other than that I like them alot.
  12. ok what exactly should I do before I crank this thing? should I replace the water pump incase it is seized? I have very little experience and I dont want to mess things up. is there anything I should know when doing this? like when replacing the oil dont put the cap on till I let some flow all the way through the engine. thanks again guys.
  13. I am helping a friend install a CA18DET engine in his '89 240sx and we went to the local muffler shop to see what they could do for us. The biggest pipe they can do is 2.5". I am thinking that should be fine for this turbo 4cyl engine. Any one think we should find another shop that will do 3"? thanks in advance.
  14. ya sorry I went on memory but I asked my dad and he said it was a 302. so I guess I need to work on that good ole memory of mine heh.
  15. ok talked to my dad and he said it broke a valve guide and he fixed it...this was about 10-12 years ago though. so it shouldent be a problem. I read that heads and cams from 302's will fit so thoes shouldent be too hard to come across at pick-n-pull. but that is a last resort...I want to spend as little money on this as possible. so basically I just need advise on what to do to this engine before trying to start it. it has been sitting for awhile but ran good before it sat. thanks again guys.
  16. ok here it goes. I have an old '69 econoline sitting around. it has been sitting for about 5 years but my dad just gave me the go ahead to try to fix it up. I believe it to have a 351W engine in it. my dad told me the engine is pretty tired and doesent run very strong but still runs, and he mentioned somthing about one of the valves messing up but he just did a temporay fix kinda thing back when it was running. I will ask him tomorrow exactly what went wrong. now since this has been sitting I am going to flush the gas, oil, tranny fluid, and was thinking about doing diff fluid. am I missing anything? and what kinda prices am I looking at to replace the head and all the parts with one from pick and pull or somthing? thanks for the help guys.

  18. Well I finally sold my car today. I dident get as much for it as I wanted but I was able to get rid of it and that is all that matters to me. The guy is coming to pick it up tuesday at noon so as of then I will be on the prowl for a Z. I definatly want a 240 but other than that I am pretty open. So if anyone sees any good deals shoot them over to me heh. Thanks alot guys.
  19. DSM for sure! thoes things are turbo monsters. like the talon tsi with AWD. wow. I also hear about people running 20-25 lbs of boost on the stock motor all the time. check out www.clubdsm.com to read up on them.
  20. right it can be done...but if you are going to do this in your garage it is alot easier to tune a turbo without the cam profile changing on you. A shop will have no problem but usually honda tuners who do it themselves dont mess with vtec when going turbo.
  21. I dunno I dont think the stock type-r motor (b18c5) makes a good boosting motor. the vtec really complicates things. I would take a CRV motor (b20) build that up and boost it. ooo and if you put it in one of thoes <2000lbs CRXs!!! I dunno I think you could make a cheaper car go faster for less money. but maybe he just likes saying he has a boosted type-r.
  22. man 1fastz you are my Z idol. heh. ungodly fast, street legal, and from the pic I saw it looked like a sleeper. that has got to be great to completly massicar any car on the street. keep up the good work.
  23. too bad CART is phasing out turbos too... they already lowered the amount of boost they are allowed to run. oh well we will see what happens.
  24. they barred forced induction if I remember correctly. without fi more cylinders was a logical next step I think.
