Hey Cyrus here, I am doing the 2JZ-GTE swap on the 6 cylinder board. I want very effective brakes. I would like to run the Silver State Classic with 450hp. Bling is good too. I have been searching for a complete list of brake vendors with 240Z packages. so far I have: http://www.modern-motorsports.com http://www.jskinnovations.com http://www.arizonazcar.com http://www.fonebooth.com/brakes_zcar.html Who have I forgot? The best?

Supra has a two piece driveshaft, with no universal at the diff and no universal at the front. Just two, one in the middle after a bearing. very strang and heavy. WOuld be nice to convert to a single driveshaft yet retain the rubber rear coupler.
-
Just to make you crazy. My 400HP LS1 got about 30 MPG on at 70-75mph as long as I drove real steady.
-
mounts have to fabbed DP hits the passenger floor pan by 6 inches Check out the supra driveline and you will understand how overly complex it is.
-
Here are some 2JZ-GTE facts. The six speed fits so easy. Smaller than a t56. the only prob is the shift come out so far back. the 2jz-gte fits just fine in the engine bay, now mounts may be difficult because the mounts are so far back. The fan is not centered it almost hits the frame I will prob have to run a electric fan any reccomendation for the electrical circuit (who sell the electic part)? Stock Down pipes do not fit. The trans is set up for a funk 2 piece setup with no slip yoke and reccomendations?
-
So now 1. I can bend or weld that stainless steel down pipe close to the trans to fit in tunnel? 2. what is the larget spearco intercooler I can use? 3. What is a good ac condensor to mount on a 240Z? 4. I am considering bashing the firewall to push the drivetrain even further back.
-
Not to digress too much. A lot of good points have been made. I have a supra motor. AND I understand the nature of turbos etc. I just want people to understand a basic principle. If you compare: My V8 LS1 240z (tuned to 335 rwhp) (2600lb) My 2JZ-GTE 240z (tuned to 335 rwhp) (2600lb) 1. Both have the same power 2. The 2JZ would ET slower 3. Both would run similar MPH (because of the power) 4. The V8 power delivery is much better It is important for people to know just because a car can dyno at a great number, it may not deliver in the real world racing, because of lag and turbo parameters (ie special setting, fuel, boost for dyno only, like Your Car is Slow said, 900 hp supra only run 500-600 hp on pump gas so there full power is NOT really avaible)
-
The following is true The Fast and Furious is a bad movie and... 900hp supras lag hard (lets just say they do not have punch like a 900hp 600ci BB chevy shall we) 900hp supras need race gas (=$$$) 900hp aren't too reliable with stock bottoms 900hp supra are expensive 900hp supra do not pass the smog check Too sum it up 900hp supras post ET's like a 600~700 car but have good trap mile (anyone seen the viper vs supra vid) 900hp supra are expensive 450 hp supras spool faster 450 hp supras use pump gas 450 hp supras are in my budget 450 hp supra is my goal now lets talk about how: 1. I can bend or weld that stainless steel down pipe close to the trans? 2. what is the larget spearco intercooler I can use? 3. What is a good ac condensor to mount on a 240Z? 4. I am considering bashing the firewall to push the drivetrain even further back. I will be making mounts soon. I plan on tying the datsun crossmember to the those thick metal mounts for the fartherst back suspension rod mounts. I hope to have pics.

I sent more pictures to marcos and a video. I got a tanabe downpipe from a supra it is huge but seems to be to far from the trans. Can I cut or bend stainless 80mm pipe?

The pump gas idea is because it forces people race there car in street mode, like when they drive it on the street. I want to know who is the fastest street car not trailer queen. With high octane huge amounts of power are possible, but that power is not there when the car is driving around. I doubt the many people cruise their Z with 114 ocatane. I live in CA we have only 91 octane. This might make the playing field more level. I was going to say no slicks to. This is just a fun idea I had, No one get upset. The idea is all in fun. Bottom line we can have two catagories: Pump Gas and Race Gas. This idea can be my motivation to finish my project!

I found these two intercoolers, will they easily fit? I removed both horns so my core area is all open. This auction is for one intercooler This intercooler has a core size of 20"x12"x 3" this is a SPEARCO race intercooler, (BAR AND PLATE) NOT LIKE THE OTHERS ON E BAY. THIS ONE IS 3 INCHES THICK. The complete intercooler measures 27.5 X 12 X 3 from entank to endtank. It uses a SPEARCO BAR AND PLATE CORE. or This auction is for one intercooler. This intercooler has a core size of 17"x12"x3" this is a race intercooler, NOT LIKE THE OTHERS ON E BAY. THIS ONE IS 3 INCHES THICK. The complete intercooler measures 24.5 X 8 X 3 from entank to endtank. It uses a SPEARCO BAR AND PLATE CORE.

Instead of an event we could just sumit video to verify the run. Its easy!
-
We need to have a Fastest Six Cylinder Shootout (FSCS)! fastest: Overall RB 2JZ Datsun inline Other Only rule must be on pump gas of 92 octane or less.

mine was smashed. Here are mo' pics... http://www.240zconversions.com/supraswap.htm thanks zach
-
I do not know make the motor mounts. The are about 10 inches behind the Datsun mounts and the are about 7 inches lower.
-
Here is my progress, (Marcos may host them...) Engine was moved back .5 inches by moving the brake lines. I do not want the steering to be to stiff due to a heavy nose. I thought of massaging the firewall with a sledge hammer about .5 inches more, so I can move the engine back further. As you can see the shifter will exit behind the stock location. The turbos my bake all the brake lines and electrical.
-
I will I just want to the Hugest IC I can stuff in there.
-
Ok now I need some help. What is the largest Intercooler that I can easily mount. Maybe a diesel truck's?... What AC condenser should I use. I an using the Supra compressor?
-
The engine is massive, heavy and take every square inch. I still have to stuff the radiator and fan in there. But it seems fit great. I need to make mounts. The engine will be as low and back as possible. The stock supra mounts might hit the steering... I want to tell everyone who talks about american big, heavy, V8's need to pick up this little 3.0 inline six.... I figure it is heavier than my LS1 V8. Now this is crazy but the shifter seems to come out farther back than the stock floor hole, which if you dont know is way back! I should document this and sell it in a book. ZTF...Z's-That-Fly.

Here is my progress for my 240Z 2JZ-GTE swap. This engine is HUGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! it is bigger than a V8! Wayyyyyyy bigger. For any one how missed the first thread, I purchased a wrecked 1994 tt six speed supra. I pulled the engine, trans, dash, wiring, tank, lines, rear supension, wheels I have now bought: a tanabe downpipe massive extra thick griffin radiator, a set of supra non turbo rims and tires apexi avc-r boost controller a greddy bcc boost cut controller hks sequential blow off valve Marcos please paste them here.
-
Thanks Marcos! You can see the supra arriving. The supra rear IRS and tank, etc is oon the trailer. In the last pic you can see the Supra engine and trans. I will get more pics soon. Cyrus

Hey! hello? What? test for echo... I got pics of my us spec 2JZ-GTE swap into a orange 240z does any want to host pics? Lets get this thread on track. This week end I pulle the engine and dash and am getting ready to drop the sup-dawg in. Cyrus
-
OK time to get back on track. I just purchased a 1972 240z orange with a red pyshicdelic swirl painted on the side. It is funny. The car looks good straight and very rust free. Only took six months to find one in cali! I need someone to host the pics for the projects. Zach?
-
Hey lets stay on track, can you provide the video or pics?
-
Well since I have already bought a totaled supra I have all the parts remove and I am just waiting for a clean 240Z. I have seen a lot of HORRIBLE 240Z's. To bad these cars seem to end up so trashed.
