  1. 10-4, tires are 215/60-15 up front with 32-33 psi All bushings have been replaced, maybe struts. I will have to check them out, I am pulling everything anyway as I need to get it to transfer better.
  2. Nope, I am running a 255/60-15 Mickey Thompson drag radial out back and a 215/60-15 tire up front. Struts in front are Tokico blue non adjustable.
  3. They are long tube, Hooker Super comps 1 5/8" primaries and 2 1/2" collectors, crappy I know. I would like to have a set of 1 3/4" by 3".
  4. Zfan1 whats your total combo?? Motor/trans/converter/etc...Thanks! Eagle 4340 forged nitrided crank 6" Eagle H-Beam rods JE 5cc pistons w/.054 MLS head gaskets, equals 10.83 to 1 compression Comp custom grind billet cam 249/255 599/606 w/110 ls Comp HD. Hyd. roller lifters Comp double roller springs 145 lbs on the seat 410 open Mildly ported AFR 210 Eliminator heads Edelbrock ported Victor Jr. intake and Proform 750 DP carb All MSD ignition with 32 degree's total timing on motor and 23 degree's timing on a 175 shot. Transmission is a built 1989 Corvette 700R4 with an 9.5" Edge 3800 rpm converter Rear end is a LSD 3.70 rear gear with Modern Motorsports goodies.
  5. AFR 195's are the way to go! My 6" rod 385 with AFR 210 Eliminators, pump gas friendly car runs 10.80 at 125 in the 1/4 and 9.70's at 138-140 rolling out and hitting it with a 175 shot. This a street cruiser driven all over the Dallas, Ft. Worth area.
  6. I have a set of Arizona Z front springs on my 240Z. They ride like hell and hammer the crap out of me when I drive. Does anyone know what their front spring rates are? What spring rate would you all recommend for a 240Z that is mainly cruised and drag raced. I have QA1 coil overs in the rear, 10" springs with 250 lb rate.
  7. Palo Alto, Ca. I used to live in Mountain View, Ca, actually grew up in Cali in the 60's and 70's before it became such an overpriced, over taxed mess! Are the smog Nazi's very tough on you? Sounds like you have a nice little ride.
  8. Like he said, Add some bars quick! Very nice ride you have there!
  9. I have a video to verify mine...LOL
  10. I could care less about rwhp, etc. I have raced cars with 800 plus rwhp and shown them my tail lights. I worry more about making power that I can use and making it dead hook! Love the look on their face when they hear me say I only make 550-600rwhp tops. Mike
  11. The car has coil overs with 10" springs 250 lbs, the tires in the rear are 255/60-15 Mickey Thompson's. The wheel wells are rolled by yours truly, rims are Konig Rewind 15X7, zero offset, nothing fancy!
  12. Thanks Davy, Glad to see some of the Old Timers are still around. Did you ever build that Z? Mike
  13. That's Lason's old ride...maybe? Looks like it has come along way if it is. Congratulations on a great ride!
  14. Very nice numbers, for a stock to mildish build w/ turbo set up.
  15. I used to post on here along time ago as Zfan, maybe 10-12 yrs ago when the site first started up. Nothing special, just a 010/020 high nickel 350 block with a 400 forged crank, 6" rods and JE pistons, pump gas friendly 10.83 to 1 compression. Ported AFR 210 Eliminator heads, custom ground roller cam, ported Victor Jr. intake, Proform 750 dp carb. NOS big shot plate system, 180 shot. Transmission is a built 700r4 with Edge 9" racing converter, 3800 stall. Rear end is a 200 LSD out of a 89 model 300zxt with Modern Motorsports stub axles and hub/adapters. Coil overs, Mickey Thompson 255/60-15's. It's just a little 1971 Datsun 240Z that is street driven all over the Dallas/Ft.Worth area. Surprises a lot of cars on the streets and on track too. I am looking at a LSX or 2JZ swap next year, maybe even in an old Mustang Coupe if not my Z. Mike
  16. Depends on what you plan on doing with it. The LT1 is a good motor that makes decent power. The LS1 is a great motor that makes huge power...good luck, I would do the LS1 myself.

    Swapping gears

Cool, thanks for your help. I will go check it out.
  18. I was thinking of swapping out the 3.70 gears in my R200LSD rear end for some 3.36 or 3.54 gears. I was wondering if I can swap right out on the 3.54 or 3.36 gears, will they fit or are the 3.70 gears that come in the LSD rear end different in any way shape or form. The problem I run into is my rpm's trap speed is just too much in the 1/4 mile. I am spinning my 385 sbc around 6800 plus rpm's, not great on a hyd. roller set up. Thanks, Mike
