I know alot of people who dont change there own oil. Alot of times the oil change and lube isnt very much over the cost of the oil! I dont think its anything to worry about...

Im working on a carbon set right now. Nothing fancy, jsut a carbon sheet contoured to the door. Ive made the fiberglass molds of the door fpr my plugs. Im gonna try and reuse the metal and bond the carbon piece to that with a 4" strip of vynal or leather on the top to finsih it off. Wont be finsihed for a month or so though i got lots of other stuff im workin on. I think it would be awesome if somebody made these, especially in carbon. If its gonna be in glass why not lay a sheet of carbon for the first layer??

thanks guys! zg240 -- Im am in mooresville is down the road a bit from shelby (about an hour). I think you are two hours or so away depending on how fast you drive you sold chekc out http://www.carolinzclub.net 73turbo240z -- I am almost done with the painless install, I currently have all the lights working, and the steering colum wired. So far so good, it has taken alot of time but the process hasnt been that difficult. Ive tested everything and it is working so far, this weekend I am going to be wrapping her up with wiring the motor and signals to the gauges. I wouldnt get the 18cricuit again, i thought it would be beneficial but the way it is wired it really isnt; you just get tons of extra crap you dont need (unless you want a/c power windows etc) I mounted my fuse box on the passenger side and ran the front light wires under the fender, made for a super clean install. All the wires are labled indivially and are color coded, it is very nice and everything can be traced with teh book they give you. I have been using the painless diagrams in combination with the sticky in the electrical section to do my wiring. The sticky in the electrical section was a big help for the steering colum. Thanks guys!! I plan on doing a little write up when I am finished, but lately between school-work and hammering in hours on the car when i can on the weekends, I havent had much time. I would love to see your datalogging charts if you can post them up. Are you saying it didnt act as accruatly as it should have or what exactly? This is quite interesting, Im glad I posted this up before I finished routing my lines.

Walboro 255, peterson filter, aeromotive AFR, -8AN lines, pallnet 11mm o-ring rail, 550cc lucus injectors. Well Pallnet, and a few others seems to recommend running it the conventional way letting fuel pass through the rail. He said that that he has heard of hte fuel heating up at the end of the rail. I dont know I think I may run the conventional route on this to be safe, i cant risk anything. I would love to hear some expriences with this though. i woudl make for a super clean engine compartment.

The only thing that i could think might cause a problem is air could get trapped in the rail. But it seems like it would work itself out very quickly or it could be bleed before startup.

I cant really tell how much bigger your injectors hole is. Is there anyway you can measure it? Looking at the picture again it may be the correct size. You can get different o-rings at Advance or a similar parts chain. They have them in stock you can look through the different size orings -- take one of the original ones with you to pick out the right size. THey are cheap like 50cents so grab a bunch and expirament. -Austin

looks to me like you have injector holes drilled for domestic 14mm injectors... I had to coax my injectors in with a mallet when installing my Pallnet rail so they should be good and tight. Post some picture of the manifold installed please! -Austin

Hey guys, Well after an interesting day my motor is finally sitting in the car. Ive run into quote a few snags and there is alot of work left but she is getting there. Little info on what you see: JE Pistons -- Forged and coated Nismo 1mm metal headgasket ARP head studs Rebuilt/Stock everything else. t3.t4. stg 5 .82 a/r (my weakest link) ford internal wg with 1.25" housing The intercooler is a knockoff "XS power" unit i purchased from SSautochrome. After recieving it I am very happy with the quaility, nice welds and a good bar and plate design. i got it off ebay for 180 bucks it is 24x12x4". This was a litle big for the z front end, So i purchased some mandrel aluminum pipe, sawed off the spouts and made new inlet and oulets that would clear the hood hinges/springs etc. Anyway Hope you enjoy! Ill have more updates soon. Car should be on the road in a couple weeks. Mods please feel free to move to turbo section if need be. -Austin

I think tom prolly had a pretty extensively built motor. i wouldnt be surprised if it was a 3.1 fully built with all the tricks. But here im just talking i dunno. -Austin

Turbo tom died in an interstate accident (tom and his girlfriend were both killed) it was a pileup down in Atlanta I believe. Horrible thing to happen, one of my buddy's was good friends with him and was working with him on building his car. All i can say is AMAZING work. Not too much stopped them. My buddy has a Richmond 6 speed tranny mated to a l28, C5 vette brakes, and just loads and loads of other quality custom stuff. I think anything turbo tom made was exceptional. -Austin

Im running my temp sensor in the head, it screwed right in. The knock sensor I had to retap the block for. -

wow are you saying "twin turbo, blitz, and greddy" are rice? tisk tisk tisk that swap is very very clean it looks like. i would take the wheels off and change the interior back to black, maybe even some m3 seats. i think it needs some classic wheels to flow with the car, plus it would be an extreme sleeper. -
Why dont you just rebuild your block and go to a dished piston to drop the compression down. In many cases you might be able to do all the rebuilding yourself. The only thing you really need to have a machinest for is to bore the block out. But this might not even be nessecary, you can chekc hte taper of your cylinders with a micrometer and see what needs to be done. -Austin

Hey, I have a 1993 325is. I absolutly love the car. I drive it hard and have fun with it and have only had very minor problems. My car has 209K miles on it, she runs great and pulls strong. I believe that mine will be my next project car since the motor, im sure is on its way out. Anyway I have M3 eibach springs and bilstein sport struts, she is FUNNNNNNNN. I highly suggest one. The couple gripes I do have is that they are expensive to work on, there is no way around that, and that the interiors are poorly made. They look nice for a while but after about 10 years the door panel leather starts peeling up and the headliners will fall down... Here is a picture of mine... Bmws are cars you can drive everyday, across country, and then have fun with them in the mountains. Im done with my advertisement lol
