  1. Do you think that the differences were related to the position or the signal going to the FPR. Maybe you could mount a 4" vaccum hose to the FPR in the position that it is in now and re-datalog. Ive also heard of the mapp sensors flickering and giving strange readings without a restrictor in the line. Maybe something similar is happing at teh FPR I have no idea. Anyway thanks for posting up these charts, its interesting Info. I ended up mounting mine to the firewall. We will see how that goes. here is an idea of how it is mounted ill have to take a better picture. The fuel comes into the firewall side of the rail and loops back around to the FPR which is mounted to the firewall. i dont understand how the placment from the rail would effect how the FPR works. But anyway we will see what happens when i get on the dyno in a month or so.. -Austin
  2. tig weld it and grind and polish or get a new one. Its jsut Stainless steel, youll have to pull out the weatherstripping. You could jsut duct tape it.
  3. There are several green sheets laying around, I would assume some of him is under those. I have a bad feeling we will see more stuff liek this here with the new Z06 which runs 11's stock....
  4. In you guys opions which is a better setup the EMI plates or the GC ones? I need ot get a set sometime in teh near future. Sine they are the same pirce range what are the pro's and cons of each? -Austin
  5. I love the idea of the turbo and supercharger. I would like to do something like this in the future. I was trying to figure out how he has it routed. Looks like both the super and the turbo feed into the intercooler. I was thinking perhaps charge the turbo with the supercharger. BUt I know nothing about this sort of stuff. I like these Eaton M90 thunderbird superchargers......with a t3.t4 yummy
  6. Lookin great -- looks like its gonna be a mean motor! Im kinda interested in how the holset thing turns out as well. -Austin
  7. That video is nuts. That car and driver are amazing. I couldnt believe how he jsut flew past everyone. Anyway great video thanks for sharing, Ive seen a similar video of the m3gtr at Nuremburgring, i need to scrap it up, it might be a shorter version of the same thing. I suppose this is what was a re watching going around the track: -Austin
  8. OOOOOOOOOoooooooo I want one. That is sooo frekkin awesome!!! Its such a clean swap too. Defintly a good motor for that car.

  10. Perhaps so... when my car gets finished i would love to get up and meet some people from hybrid. -Austin
  11. So how many cars do you have now mike??? Or have the parts to build?
  12. Hey guys, Thanks again for the compliments. Sparks is right I had the valve cover done a while ago when it was on my 260. I plan on recoating it myself due to the differences in the powder, the eastwood wrinkle isnt nearly as textured as the stuff calico used. datsunan -- The clearence is very tight against the fender. I have a strap that keeps the pipe rigid and from hitting the fender. When I go to a larger turbo I belive i will have a 90" elbow welded to the turbo outlet so i can bring a pipe straight into it and clock it down some, i think this would be the easiest to setup and be very clean. 2003z -- On the oven thing I too plan on making a hood to come out so i can put larger pats in the oven. Thats a good website, didnt think of using heat duct material -- seems like it will do the trick. The oven I have is pretty large though. I believe my oven is about 17"x17"x17" but i need to measure. Sparks -- thanks for the mandrel lol, and for bringing that lift up, horray for scoring cheap engine hoists!
  13. Mike ship the Hulk to my house lol!!! Ive got two open garages. I could finish it and drive it for ya, you know to keep the tires from dry rotting and such
  14. Hey guys, Thanks for the compliments. Powdercoating is actually really easy, I use an eastwood gun and have my grandmothers old kitchen oven. I snagged it when she upgraded lol. Pretty cheap too, you can get started powdering for the cost of your first batch of stuff at a professional place! Not to mention most people around me have a rediculous wait period. -Austin
  15. Hey guys another quick update on my motor.... I did alot more wiring, mounted all the SDS stuff, finisihed my fuel lines, and made my i/c pipes. Woke up at 7:00 today to powdercoat them Anyway, they are 2.5" mandrel exhaust tubing from JEG's , i used silicon connectors from ATP turbo along with SS t-bolt clamps. These clamps are awesome thats all i can say about them, 100X better then the worm drive and they dont tear up the hoses. Im am mounting my BOV (Type RS) on the outlet spout of the intercooler forward of the raiator x-memeber, have to get to that next weekend... anyway i hope to have the engine running next week. Lemmek now what you guys think..
  16. i didnt copper spray mine, but it was new. Is this okay? Arent you jsut supposed to spray them when you reuse them?
  17. yup sounds okay. I bought a ginuine nismo 1mm one, and it was three metal layers loosy rivoted together.
  18. I found some stuff at Home Depot called "industrial coating, epoxy, powdercoating remover" seemed to d othe trick but took many time and scraping. If i would have let it sit over night or longer it prolly would have done much better.
  19. Thanks for the compliments guys, she might be running this weekend Ill share some updates. Anyway Braap that manifold is impressive, nice work. Truly alot of time to get the manifold that smooth. I dunno what that guy is tryingto accomplish with the engine relocation but it looks crazy! Neat stuff. -Austin
  20. This may be his "lifestyle" but it is horrible buisness practice and is a recipe for disaster, I found people tend to get slightly agitated when somebody has their money with no rush to deliver a product. He will never get any of my money again. In fact, I didn't mind the time set back so much as the NON-COMMUNICATION. When I have to call a buisness (multiple times) to find out why I havent received my products, what the update is, and what decisions he has decided to make without my opinion, that is across the line and pisses me off. In fact if it wasnt for Mike giving me his work number I dont think I would have my pistons to this day. Alex ordered me a new set of pistons when he found out he couldnt get the ones I wanted, the only reason I wanted the pistons he initially offered me was the promptness with which he said he could deliver them. If i had known he was ordering a new set I would have changed the specs. Horrible buisness practices. But I am done ranting. You have my opinion, ill not bring up this issue again.
  21. I personally dont think that there is that much difference in the space availible. I mean with the stock manifold you can run a full t4 without any interference. If you are running a custum setup you can allow youself even more room. Now... if you wanted to run two big turbos........ RHD might be im order
  22. If you look back through my posts or search for Alex you can find out what happened to me. I feel like i was mistreated and got the run around, like you I couldnt get in touch with Alex and he gave me no updates or let me know why I hadnt recieved my pistons. I was on the verge of going to the police in fact the only thing that stopped me was that he seemed to have a decent reputation on here. Fastforward two months after i orderedthem with delivery promised one week after he recieved my money. I finally got in touch with him through his work, and after continual hounding i finally got my pistons from him. The pistons were correct but he sent me the wrong rings in the end. .... you draw your conclusions. His work number: Alex Costa (Speed shop) 1-305-471-0220
  23. Hey guys, Just finished cleaning up my intake manifold and powdercoating it. ANyway it was a job, RE-powdering something is a pain having to strip everything off, i think i have 10 hours in juat the stripping and recoating. Its an n42 manifold out out a 78 280, non egr. I shaved all the mounting bosses off of the manifold I didnt need, including the throttle linkage towers. I then welded two tabs on the side of the intake manifold for my throttle cable. I got a 24" lokar throttle cable from jeg's, they are cheap and and can be cut down to the exact right size. Powercoated it with wrinkle black (eastwood). With the throttle cable i am eliminating the spacer and cleaning up the manifold. Oh also the rail is made by Pallnet, it is a 11mm o-ring rail and I am using 550cc injectors. I did make my own mounts for it that use the manifold mounting bolts. The wiring you can see in the pictures is painless and SDS, those are all the wires that will be in my engine compartment. Working on getting them all laided out now. Anyway, just though I would share. My engine is coming together and I hope I can have it running in the next week. Anyway ill throw up some more updates then. -Austin
  24. I loooove it, but i have a thing for hatches. Ive always loved the mgb-gts, m coupes, and the like. There is just something sexxy about them. Thats just me. I am a fan of smoother lines but i do think that the z4 coupe looks great. I HATE the new 3 series though. And i hope they have thightened up the z4's, i drove a z4 3.0L 6spd at a autocross course at the BMW factory in Greer SC when i was 16 lol. I thought it sloooooppppyyyy, bad over all feel sloppy shifter and soft suspension.
