Hey guys thanks again. crazy280 - the paint color is spectra blue, with one coat of dupont blue pearl, and then dupoint chromaclear. There is a thread about it fro ma couple months back. 73turbo280z -- Yes lol i thought about this, but then again the intercooler is a statement and i just love the look of a huge front mount. I may anodize mine black in the future and put a sprayer on it we will see. Its hard to make a 240z sleeper to begin with!

Where to buy new s30 frame rails in Australia?
240hoke replied to S15 200sx owner's topic in Body Kits & Paint
front rails or the rails under the floorboards? In both case youd be better off just making your own. I think bad dog parts sells a set though if you're interested. -Austin -
thanks guys, yeah alot of people told me i should have scrapped it, and i thought about it. but i didnt have anything better to do! so i went to cutting and welding. Thanks for the compliments guys, Im soo excited its been a long time and shes finally starting to come together. Cant wait to wrapall the details up. J. Soileau -- The wheels are 16x7 panasports. I got them from a friend who had them for sale, They are 11mm offset, which I dont recommend. Most people run 0 offset. Also the tires are 225 ( ) / 50 / r16. The 50 series fill up better then teh 45 series alot of people run on a 16. Anyway I evny your car that rb26 is wicked.

re-doing my interior: need some advice/help/inspiration
240hoke replied to 260ZRED's topic in Miscellaneous Tech
p.s. If you are having that much trouble with the wiring, you might want to consider hte painless 12 circuit kit or a product similar. I can personally attest to how nice they are. Its good to have new labled wiring and have everythign working. And for the money its a good deal I believe. Anyway It also allows you to relocate the fuse box whever you want and run spade type fuses. Anyway just a thought dont mean to jack the thread. -
re-doing my interior: need some advice/help/inspiration

Check the zcar of the month from zcar.com last month (october 05). It had a nie grey interior. I personally dont like it but might be something for you to look at. here is a pic: I had a 300zx N/A that had a black/grey interior that I loved. Black carpet, black dash -- everything else grey tweed I thought it looked really nice. Anywy cant go wrong with black, thats what im doing in my car. -Austin -
where to get upgraded rotors
240hoke replied to nope's topic in Brakes, Wheels, Suspension and Chassis
I judt wanna say that flair wheel combo looks awesome. What flairs are those? looks super mean! -Austin -
Nice work. I made some exactly like that a while ago. The consensus was that it is much much better to go head and put in a tunbuckle to that they are on car adjustable. They will be a pain to set and reset designed like that. ALso is the heim all screwed into at normal camber settings or halfway in between, i guess what im saying is are hte arms to increase negitive camber or for both positive and negitive? For this reason I will be making a new set on car adjustable, there is alot of information in the archives about this and what parts to use. Anyway for those of you that want to do it yourself i did a little write up here: http://www.geocities.com/projectzt/LCA.html adjustable t/c rods: http://www.geocities.com/projectzt/tcrod.html Heres a pic of the complete assembly with adjustable t/c's too: _Austin

Yup happened to me. Happened due to broke ring lands though. Ring land broke loosened everythign up and caused some slap. Like mentioned before most aftermarket pistons dont have that little piece there. My JE's are short little things.

Nope lol, not the first crank. Although it started almost that easy, I couldnt hardly believe it. Of course I already had the ignition and fuel maps from my last motor, I just leaned out the settings for the 550cc injectors. 73turbo240z -- Im running SDS em4-6f. Hoping to upgrade sometime but it gets the job done for sure. It would be awesome to have datalogging capabilities, which I believe is offered on their new system, im not sure if the old systmes are upgradable i need ot check into it.

Hehe, thanks guys Right now its just running an open DP. Im going to be making a 3" exhaust wit ha dynomax striaght through muffler to tone it down a bit. Thinking about running one of those QTP electric cut-outs though.

Hey guys, Well after a super long weekend, lots of work and lots of wiring I finally got the car started. After doing a final checkover and correcting a few things we turned her over, she started the very first try. Im going to be cleaning the engine compartment up a good deal more, the main goal was to start her this weekend, so the heater hoses are blocked off and i havent bundled up the wires or anything. Also dont have a 240sx TPS yet. Anyway hope you enjoy! http://www4.ncsu.edu/~alhoke/Startup.wmv -Austin

Ole Blue Z wont be getting done for awhile now.. so upset!
240hoke replied to a topic in Nissan L6 Forum
Mike, sorry I hear. I think we all get burnt out every once in a while. Im surprised you dont more often with all the thing you do. Im with EvilRufusKay here though, its suck a big one but at least you did try and start the thing up then it could have been very bad Just quit for a week and do other things thats what I do, I just about junked my car but the spark comes back. If it doesnt, hell, burn it but make sure you get it on video tape! Perhaps some shavings were caught inside one of the intake or exhaust ports where there was a closed vavle, did you blow/vaccum them out before you assymbled? If your gonna sell it grab a junk block and throw the thing together, youll have the satisfaction of finishing it and get more money in your pocket for all your other projects.. Good Luck -Austin p.s. id treat ya to a cold one if i was old enough lol. -
insurance guru's needed for help on a settlement.
240hoke replied to JaysZ's topic in Non Tech Board
Keep fighting it and still get an apraisor to come look at your wrecked car. Dont ever let them have the car either. I had to fight with my insurance compnay for a long time. The first offer they gave me was I believe 3500 dollars. I told them they were crazy, and I needed to have an appraisor come out to look at my car. I printed off many many turbocharged z cars from classifieds and printed up a list of every signle mod I had done to the car. My mod list was 15,000 dollars listed up in a spreadsheet and with alot of recipets. After i gave teh appraisor all the information and he looked at my car insurance came back with 15,000 total, and 12,000 if i keep it. Needless to say I was very happy, if I wouldnt have fought the insurance company I wouldnt have a z right now. Course I think that appraisor was very nice to me. -
Its great to see some stunning l28 numbers. Congrats to good numbers and some awesome work!
