I just went to the J/Y and looked at a recked miata. Did you cut out a patch of the sheet metal from the miata and graft it into the datsun quarter panel? I was wondering if I needed to hack out this chunk out of the Miata so I could have the latch mechanism ( I know you just undo that 14mm nut and the part will slide out) I mean the female part of it located on the door.

Rear window louvers.....how fast can you go if you have one?
niceguy678us replied to 80LS1T's topic in Non Tech Board
I have one for sale "brand-spankin'-new" since you guys are on the topic! -
That plastic piece acts as a bushing, use a little muscle and the rod will pop out of there, sometimes the plastic piece stays in the hole/sometimes it comes out with the rod. This has been my experience with them.

Viginia now has hybrid cop cars, well kind of.

nothing is as fast as a radio. -
So your intake is COMPLETELY shaved of everything? What do you do for vaccum lines to operate the heater-a/c interior stuff as well as an automatic transmission?
-
240Z Turbo, was that the run against ScottieGNZ? If so, that was really close!!!

Send me the pics and tell it all brother don't hold nuttin' back!!!!!

Venting the 280Z vented hood--opinions?
niceguy678us replied to Tim240z's topic in Body Kits & Paint
Tim I must say you are a hell of a fabricator. No question of your patience and skill. That is a great piece. This is just my opinion- I think if you were shaving everything on the car that these might look kind of out of place although they are cool I like them and they look to be very functional. I think something sleek/low profile in this area would blend very welll with the rest of your car only because of the fact that everything else on your car is sleek/low profile'ish. just my 2 cents and I'm just being honest sorry -
Dp351zcar is talking about the cowl panel. I had forgotten to say something about that also. He is correct, there's a rectangular hole on the passengers side that flows air through to the heater blower housing assembly, you will see what I am talking about when you pull the unit. This will also be a GREAT time to replace all the foam seals in the entire a/c heater system. Go to lowes or home depot and get some foam that comes in sheets that has stickey on one side. Cut the foam to the size and shapes that you need, clean off the old brittle stuff THOROUGHLY and whipe down the areas with alcohol to ensure a good clean surface to stick to. This does wonders for airflow. You might also think about upgrading your heater blower fan motor while you have the blower box out of the car.

It's not that hard to do. What I do is unscrew the black metal piece off the top of the dash (by the windshield) unscrew the center console, and the center control panel. Look up under the dash on the passenger side and unbolt the blower fan "box" and unplug the wiring going to it (don't forget about that vaccum line in the back of it) it should all come out in one unit. Then unbolt the dash and steering column and lean the dash foreward, this makes it easy to get to the vents-wiring-etc. It takes me about 30 minutes to get to this point (taking my time). You will be able to see inside of the center box that contains the a/c and heater cores through the triangular hole on the passenger side. This is for my 260 with 280 a/c and heat components under the dash. But I know the 240 is very similar with the exception of cables inmstead of vaccum lines, and the center control panel is a bit trickier to remove. I took apart my 70 240's interior, and it is set up almost exactly the same as my 260/280 stuff. Hope this helps.

Sir-Daniel, I was wondering if I could ask you an off topic question. I have an 1985 Husqvarna 510TE 4 stroke dirtbike I want to rebuild. I need a few things that I am having trouble finding. Being as you are from Sweden (where the bike is from) you might be able to find some parts for me, if it's not too much trouble? You can email me or just post here, whatever you want to do, but the moderators would probably prefer that you email me, just whatever's easier for you. If not then thank you for your time anyways.

I am going to be visiting Dallas on () and I was wondering if any of you guys would like to have a meet while I am there. I would LOVE to meet up with other HybridZ members, put faces to the names, see the cars upclose and personal (I know pictures do not do them justice). I know there are a lot of you guys around that area from reading your posts and seeing your locations. I know it's over a month away, but I figured I would start talking to yall early enough to maybe make plans to meet up and talk about our Z's. Not to take away from anyone's glory from that area of Texas (I love ALL Z cars) but I am a particular fan of Phantom's LS1-Z. Man if you would phantom, chime in and tell me that I could get a ride in that thing, I would die a happy man!! From one Hybrid Z'er to the next.

O.K. guys, I'll be the one to say it. I as well as others on the forum do not condone street racing, but if you are going to do this swap for this reason, that combo should put you into the "damn he's fast" category. Now you may or may not be able to beat everyone on the road, but they will definitely remember racing you. I STRONGLY reccomend that you upgrade the braking system as well as install a rollcage and 5 point harness in the car for PURE safety reasons since it sounds like you are going to be doing these activities on a regular basis. After you are done modifying the car (always keeping safety in mind) drive the car gently at first and ease into the higher speed activities over time (at least a few weeks) so you can get a feel of the new power and have a little bit better understanding of what you are driving. I also suggest getting full coverage insurance, as well as a radar/laser detector. Always remember that street racing can be very dangerous. I cannot be a hypocrit (is that how you spell it?) I race every chance I get no matter where the hell I'm at, lol but I am getting a little older (25 now)and with age comes wisdom and I have found myself more and more not wanting to indulge in stoplight/highway "games" because of coming to the realization of what the consequences of my actions can be AND COST, lol. SO......... my opinion is go for it, it will make for some life long memories that you will cherrish, and be a lot of fun, just try to use good judgement, and try to be as safe as possible.

My camshaft just decided to come OUT of my motor...
niceguy678us replied to JB_BA's topic in Gen I & II Chevy V8 Tech Board
----------------------love to see that one, never heard of that either. I just find things like this interesting, these "act og god occurences" although they are unfortunate and you have my condolences on the untimely death of your cam. Souonds like your having a bit of my kind of luck. -
I can't look at the files, I had the same problem with the one you emailed me (just going to wait for you to post it since I didn't want to bother you about it) Do you have to have special software to see the images or something? I don't have very much knowledge of things in relation to computer settings, programs etc.
