  1. Thanks for the reply guys, and the link. Wish you good luck with the projects!
  2. Is this company still in business ? I tried emailing them for some info, but no response. Anyone know what's going on?
  3. Well.... lets see a pic Fairlady. Like to see this trophy of yours.
  4. I couldn't find any info on that site. I looked at many skyline r33's and it seems like these are not exactly the same. the spokes are set in deeper in the rim on these. These also have a "Z" cap in them whick kinda adds to the interest. I want to get the five lug conversion, and get rims to fill out the Victoria Brittish metal flares. Please help!
  5. I HAVE TO KNOW what kind of rims those are!!!!! Did he use the five lug conversion kit? And would those fill out a set of VB metal flares? PLEASE reply with any info!!
  6. My daily driver is a 90 chevrolet full size extended cab pickup. It has the throttlebody injection system. I have gone through the entire motor, tranny, and rear end, and all I can say is it has been very reliable, as well as powerful. I have: 1.stock throttle body housing 2.bigger injectors (from the caprice police interceptor package) 3.adjustable internals for the throttle body 4.Helix bore throttle body spacer(from Jegs) 5.Edelbrock performer intake(made for the GM TB) Now this is only one stage of upgrading, since it is my daily driver. And I selected those particular injectors to match my cam/engine setup. (have many more mods, but trying to limit this speech to the intake setup) You can do a lot more with the system. There are aftermarket big bore throttle bodies that are made to bolt up and go, and also bigger injectors you can use (454SS truck injectors will fit also and dump MUCHO fuel!!)But one thing you have to remember is you have to get a chip made/burned for your specific combo if you are going to retain the stock management system. I had mine made for just under $400, but I can say that there is NO headache, and NO worries about jumping in my truck and driving wherever I want to, this has been a VERY reliable setup (for me). The throttle is very responsive/sensitive, and makes for some very interesting stoplight action,LOL. I like the fact that I retained all (readily available) stock parts, such as sensors, injectors and whatnot, makes for cheap and easy repairs. So to further answer your question, I have nothing but good to say about the GM throttle body injection system.
  7. Thats what it looks like to me, just cut and rewelded, very original idea. Still rotatable as well. Nice job!
  8. All I can say is SWEET!! If the funds permitted, I would MAKE one fit in a GTO conversion!!!
  9. The front air dam and rear spoiler are available from Motorsport Auto. They are an aftermarket alternative to those heavy bumpers, and the sideskirts are (as mentioned above) available from them as well. I have owned two of them and may be able to help you with some questions specific to this model Z.
  10. how bout cifering a code on a big block? 861969 with a "P" under the number, anyone?
  11. Very beautiful car!!! I love the gauges and a nice engine bay taboot! I only have one question. Where did you get a hold of that hood scoop? I have seen a few of them over time and wouldn't mind getting a hold of one! Anyone chime in? And as always my lil buddy:
  12. thanks dom, and the turbo zx donor in fact did have an automatic tranny. So I guess I lucked out. I like the black control panel, it would be very easy to adapt to fit a Z center console. thank you for the replies
  13. Yes it is a 77. Trying to whittle the cruise control stuff out of the wiring harness ! I spent alomst half a day stripping the ENTIRE wiring harness out of that damned 81 ZX turbo so I would have everything I would need. I posted in the turbo forum looking for someone with a factory manual for that year trying to get a copy of the fold out harness map. Would make things a little easier on me.thanks for any info!!
  14. Was wondering if any of you had a factory service manual for an 81 ZX turbo? I need help with cutting down the wiring harness( took out the ENTIRE harness as to not miss anything needed) for what I need to do the turbo swap into one of my early Z's. Also looking for cruise control wiring diagram, trying to make it work as well. Basically if anyone has the 81 turbo factory service manual, I would love to get my hands on a copy of the fold out diagram and cruise control pages!
  15. I came into possession of a 81 280ZX cruise control system, it is complete with switches, wiring, solenoids etc. I tried the search in multiple rooms to no avail. I would enjoy this comfort in my early Z and was wondering if anyone had tried this before or heard of it done, tips would be appreciated. I know I can't be the only one who has attempted this, just gotta find the info. Happy new year to everyone, be safe.
  16. My daily driver is a fullsize chevy extanded cab (highly modified drivetrain). One night on the interstate a dodge yes a dodge thought he could pull up next to me and gun it. Well I layed into it and left him, at 140mph I let off and resumed my cruise control functions. Not but a minute later I heard a small explosion under the hood and what sounded like rocks being tossed up under there. Instantly my amp gauge dropped from 14 1/2 to 6 so I turned off the radio, a/c, and fog lights. I pulled off on the next exit and poped the hood to find little ball bearings everywhere, and the main shaft that goes through the middle of the alternator would wobble in any direction (imagine like a pencil in an empty mayonaise jar). I did what any red blooded american chevy owner would do and closed the hood and drove the half hour drive home. I woke up the next morning and went to Oreilleys and swapped it out and changed it in the parkinglot (gotta love their lifetime warranty). I've since never heard of this happening to anyone, but that's just my luck lol.
  17. Only 13 and already feeling peer pressure from us Z addicts. "Hey kid... try this youy'll like it, It'l make ya cool like me, it won't hurt, everyone is doing it!" Um, oh yeah, that's how old I was when I caught the addiction.
  18. I too would like to take this opportunity and say Merry Christmas to everyone here. May everyone have a safe and blessed holiday season.
