Guys, I seem to be missing a few parts and was hoping someone might have spares. This is all for an RB26. I need one of the reducer fittings that feeds water into the turbos. The hard water lines go into these reducer/adapters which thread into the turbos. I can take a picture if my description is not accurate enough. I also need an exhaust collector. A stock one will do but would rather an after market one if possible. I have a month left to finish this swap and any help is appreciated. Brian

The new clutch looks to be holding well. Have you turned up the boost since we spoke? On a side note, I should have things back on track by next weekend. Are you up for working on the GT-R then? Brian

I'm about to get my motor swap going and had a few questions regarding my fuel system. This is in my '73 Skyline, so it all needs to be redone. My plan is to use a Sard Surge Tank with an R33 GT-R intank pump feeding 3/8 hard lines going to an Aeromotive filter then feeding -6 braided line to the rail. From there it will still be -6 braided going to the Aeromotive regulator then to 1/4 hard line for the return. This is for an R33 RB26dett stock at the moment. I'm not planning much more down the road, but 2530's, 700cc injectors, and a boost increase are definates. Most likely no more than 450hp. Any suggested alterations? Thanks Brian

Thanks, but I really don't need any advice on this. I have always found it funny that people mention how these blocks can be had for "only $XXXX" in Aus. Quick pointer, we're not in Aus. And I am fully aware of shipping. I was just about the first one on this site to ship RB30's over. And I really don't think that someone in Canada is really the expert on importation into the U.S. Let me fill you in so that you might save a little face next time. Shipping four blocks to the U.S. is actually $600. Then you have transportation costs in Aus, about another $50-$100 depending. Once they get here to the U.S., all of my port fees and Gov. fees on the first shipment of four blocks came to $550. And this is not including the price for the actual engines. Not that I really need to explain myself to anyone, but this might give you a better picture. And honestly, even if I actually got the motor and had it shipped for only $50, why is that anyone elses business? You make mention af having the motors pre-ordered. I did that. I gave anyone a $100 break if they ponied up before hand. Guess what? No one did. Most people are not serious about something until they can see it. This was the case with you as well when you asked about me getting you a Skyline. I'm sorry if I come off sounding harsh, but I do not need anyone lecturing me on my items. If the price is too steep, find a better deal. It's that easy. You are somewhat of a newcomer on this site still, and I would appreciate it if you would show a more respectful tone. Brian

Guys, My buddy in Aus. sent one more RB30. It is an N/A block and as you can see in pretty good shape. This block is sitting at my friends house in Huntington Beach, Ca. Looking for $1100 picked up. We can help with shipping if need be. Brian

Is it safe to assume you have no muffler on it right now? Because it sounds exactly like what all the ones I built sounded like when they were run with open exhaust. I really enjoyed the "burble" at idle. I think I did about 10 of the L28 turbo swaps starting back in '94. It was the absolute easiest way to make power in an S30. I was barely 21 when I did my first and had pretty much no money. The junkyards in San Diego were full of ZX turbos though. $230 out the door for the complete motor with computer and harness. I would find a non running Z, swap the turbo motor in and then sell the car. It was a pretty good gig for a couple of years. I enjoyed doing the work and it put some extra money in my pocket. The funniest part is that I spent 2 days straight color coding the wiring schematic and when I found how easy it was to run the stock computer and harness I felt like I was Ben Franklin discovering electricity. Those are some very good pics. This was my first time at the Pavilions and I must say I really enjoyed myself. I was there for about 4 hours and the time just flew by. It really is an impressive collection of cars. I did have one point of contention though. Originally when I arrived I pulled into a section market "Classic/Exotic/Muscle/Pre-75" and was asked to move my car to the "Import" section. Not that it affected my enjoyment of the show, but my car technically fits 3 of the 4 categories listed. It became blatantly obvious that this section is for American Classic cars only. I would prefer someone just make that the name of the section instead of pretending it is anything other than that. As it was I parked between another Hybrid member and a couple early 911's. And next to them was an Astin Martin then the requisite riced out Hondas. So, "Import" really is all imported cars. Again, this is more of an observation than any kind of gripe. I ended up meeting and speaking with a wide assortment of people about every type of car. I will most likely not be out again for a few weeks as my car will be going under the knife. I hope to see more Hybrid members next time. Brian

Hey guys, the Japanese Classic Car Show is on October 6, 2007. Registration opened last Sunday. I missed last years show but loved the first one. I will be making the trip out this time and have registered. I highly suggest if you even think you might go you get registered now. The adapter in that link seems to be for the intake, not the exhaust. If you want to run RB26 twin exhaust manifolds, I think all you need to do is change the angle of one of the port flanges. If I remember correctly, the RB20/25 looks like this; // Where the RB26 looks like this; /// Or thereabouts. Cut the flange, turn it and reweld it. Brian

I know this is late notice, but I plan to go up to the Pavillions show tomorrow. I have been here in Phoenix for a year now and have never been to this show. I finally have the '73 Skyline all registered and insured and plan to take it up there. I'd like to meet up with some of you guys. I don't know what time it really gets going, but I figured 6 or so sounded good. Brian

If you think getting parts for your Z is tough, then you want no part of an old rotary Mazda. If the cars are in repairable condition I have a suggestion. In Puerto Rico the rotary cars are insanely popular. I know in a few places in the north eastern part of the U.S.A. they are also sought after. I would suggest you clean them up as best you can and take several pics. Put them up for sale on as many Japanese car or Mazda/Rotary web sites you can get. Or, start by putting one up on E-bay. You will have no trouble selling them. Not to mention the RX-2 is one of the better looking ones. Brian

I managed to get the Wiseco situation sorted and have a set of pistons just sitting here. They are a 9.3:1 CR and are 1mm overbore. I don't have a real need for them anymore, so if you're interested I'd make you a good deal. Brian

Easy fellas. No one said there was anything wrong with the Euros or stockers. What I was referring to is that it is getting harder and harder to stand out these days. With the relative ease of finding once rare parts many cars are looking very similiar. As little as 10 years ago, if you had a set of Euro taillights everyone was really impressed. Now they are being reproduced by vendors so it's not quite so rare anymore. In all honesty these are just spares I have from one of my Skylines. Until I saw that pic of the white S30, posted here in this thread, it had not occured to me to suggest installing them in a Z. But I was really impressed with how well they seemed to compliment the lines of the S30. So perhaps someone else might think so as well. That is the thought process behind the ad. Brian

I too went there for the first time last week. That place is very cool. I know it's not the cheapest, but for a night out with the guys, it's well worth it. What do you guys think about meeting out there on a weeknight sometime with our cars, then going a few races inside? Brian

They are easy to register and insure. Not too much hassel to get into the U.S. either. Just a matter of making sure the proper paperwork and taxes are taken care of. I need to get down to register this one next week hopefully. After that, perhaps I'll be able to get it out to the Pavilions on the 23rd. Let's see if we can get some kind of meet together for that weekend. Brian

Thanks guys. This one was a bit more complicated to get than the others. It was originally in Brisbane and I had to get it to Sydney in order for my friend there to get it shipped up here. So I spent a fair amount in logistics. I also had a new windshield installed as a precaution. All told I probably have about $11k or so into her. I need to get a few more parts still to really get her where I want. I have a set of Wats and an R190 L.S.D. I had originally intended to run but will be going in another direction. These are for sale in the classifieds if anyone is interested. I have an S15 six speed tranny that I will be mating up to the RB20 currently in the car when I sell the drivetrain. It will also come with the correct rear sump pan to be installed in a Z car. Brian

I picked her up from the port last Thursday. I just had the opporotunity to give her a bath and snap off a few shots. Keep in mind this is exactly as she arrived. I will be adressing the incorrect mirrors and such shortly. She is a 1973 Skyline. Very clean. Surprisingly clean to be honest. She is a bit of an odd bird though. Check this out. It was an original Japanese market car that was sent to New Guineau shortly afterwards. Then she made her way to Australia in 1976 and has been there until I bought her. Here is the really cool part. Her VIN is KPGC110015370. A real GT-R VIN. But she apparently left the factory equipped as a GT-X with an L20 instead of an S20. But she does not have power windows, which a GT-X model would have. I have discussed the oddities with people better schooled in Nissan history than I and all we have come up with is that the VIN stamp on the firewall is factory and un-altered. Here are some pics her with the '74. And check out the engine in the new one; It's an N/A RB20 with an aftermarket ECU controlling the ignition. A custom made intake manifold holds tripple Weber DCOE's. It sounds awsome. The distributor and plug wires you see are fakes. The previous owner wanted to make the motor look as much like an S20 as possible. It pulls pretty well too. I have an RB26 which will be taking it's place though, so keep an eye out for this drivetrain to be for sale shortly. Brian
