  1. Uhhhh.....ok? I know that, can you help me resolve this issue?
  2. Hey guys, we have MS1 V3 board with MSnS. We're trying to tune our L28ET but are having a little issue. Under load, at about ten miles an hour, the RPMs are good but once you trying to start accelerating at all it goes way lean and sound like it cuts the fuel or something, pauses, back fires, then comes back. Could this be caused by our pulse width? We are literally going from ~14 AFR to like 8 within 100 RPM increase. If anyone could suggest anything, it would greatly appreciated. Thank you!
  3. Guys, we're having a hard time tuning this megasquirt. We have the MS1 with V3 board with MSnS. Here's out setup Stock L28ET short Block Stock T3 turbo 440cc injectors (42 lbs/hr) Megan Racing RRFPR Front Mount intercooler Fidanza flywheel Looking to make about 290 hp if possible with this setup. We just cannot seem to get this thing to run right at all. Please help, or at least give us setting for this setup because we've tried others and they don't seem to work along with the table generator. Thanks guys
  4. Ok well we've wired everything else but the wideband. My first quesiton is, we have the LC-1 lambda and the cable actually has that built in controller integrated into the cable, where did you guys mount yours? Also, can I get 5A of power from the fuse box? If not, where can I pull power for this from under the dash??
  5. Yeah, somehow it was mirrored, kinda odd but the video gets the point across, right!?
  6. I really, really like your color scheme. The color reminds me of the Subaru world rally blue!
  7. Ok, a little update, link: http://s617.photobucket.com/albums/tt260/jacob80a/?action=view&current=enginestartup.flv
  8. Alright, good to hear. We actually got the engine to crank over, thanks for all the help! Now onto tuning, yay
  9. Hey guys, With megasquirt just installed, I have been eyeing the TPS gauge and the percent of throttle seems to be off. With the throttle all the way shut on my 240sx throttle body and TPS, it says 14% and with it all the way open, it is 83%. What is the calibration technique for this? Thanks
  10. Hey guys, We have a '73 240z and we're wiring megasquirt. Currently, we're using the switched 12v source on the driver side on the harness section that has the tach wiring and such, but we need another souce because we have 3+ wires which include the distributor positive, fan positive, and the resisted wire that T's off the distributor green/white (those colors may be inaccurate, but close). My question is, where is another switched 12v source close to the firewall because we need to run power to the relay board which is mounted right near the battery. Thanks!
  11. Ok, well come to find out, we had a little wiring issue. The tach now does not do the 3000 rpm thing. The only thing that is worrysome right now is the fact that we turn the key to the on position and there is no lights on the computer box. But, we haven't configured the computer yet for our setup, but it does work when we put the stimulator to it. Is this ok? Would the fuel pump not being hooked up cause the box not to light up? How is the megasquirt/relay board powered? Is its main power source the 12v off the distributor and the switch from the resisted source that T's off the distributor wire?
  12. Hey boys, we've wired most of our megasquirt and put a battery charger on the engine to see if we could see any lights. The first thing I noticed was that our tach reads ~3000 rpms with the key in the on position. This is on a '73 with the green/yellow and the black/white connected and using the black/yellow as our switched 12v source. Another thing, our fuel pump is not wired up, but it just connected the computer to the relay board via the relay board cable and turned the key to the on position, just to see if I would see any lights, but there were none. We have the distributor 12v and the resistor switched 12v power sources hooked up, should we be seeing lights by now? Hey, thanks guys!
  13. I'm just looking for the 3/4" hose from the turbo to the oil pan, thats it.
  14. Really? I didn't know, what about the initial values and everything? Injector pulse width? Etc etc, how do I know where to start?
  15. Yes, it is the MSD Blaster 2 PN 8202, I have retrieved the manual and the link is below: http://www.msdpower.com/download/8202.pdf In the beginning section of the manual, a note reads as follows: "This Blaster Coil Kit is intended to be used with an MSD Ignition. If installing on a stock, points style ignition system, a 0.8 ohm ballast resistor or resistor wiring MUST be installed. MSD offers this Ballast Resistor as PN 8214 or the Blaster Coil Kits, PN 8200 and 8203 are equipped with one." How will we set up the "resistor wiring" with this coil? Should we just follow this diagram if we're using the relay board?:
  16. Nobody really answered this question, I was wondering where I can find an oil proof hose to survive for the obvious high heat coming off the turbo.
  17. Ok so here's our setup: Rebuilt L28ET Improved Valve Stem Seals (Mazda ones) Stock T3 Turbo Bosch 440cc low impedence injectors Front mount intercooler Fidanza Flywheel Performance Products front pulley Stock boost (for break in purposes) MSA Down-pipe MS1 v3.0 controlling fuel and spark Innovate LC-1 wideband Pallnet fuel rail 240sx throttle body with spacer Kameari performance oil pump Stock Rebuilt 73 4 speed Stock R180 MSD Blaster 2 coil I list this because as I understand, "maps" are complete settings for megasquirt, is this correct? Does anyone have a map similar to this setup I could use controlling fuel and spark?
  18. Ok well I think I've got it down, but the only thing that, since your writeup is so old, it tells me: "For now, continue to refer to Mobythevan's documentation for MegaTune configuration of the MSnS-E firmware." What configuration am I referring to? Is he talking about maps I could use? I'm confused here.
  19. Well we have 440cc inejctors with the Megan racing RRFPR with a Walbro 255lph pump, but yes, stock turbo. How much power you think that will put down?
  20. Should that first link get me everything I need?
  21. Ok, so a little progress:
  22. Ok, so in the mobythevan's writeup states this: "First, go to the megasquirtnspark yahoo user group and then to the files section. Download the MSS V3.0 code." This is only if you're using the GM HEI module? Should I just follow the below write up exactly?: http://www.diyautotune.com/tech_articles/how_to_megasquirt_your_280zx_turbo.htm Where can I find 029y4?? Is Megatune 2.25 the current version of megatune?
  23. Hey guys, we're about to drop in our L28ET and I have a couple question. We are going to be using MSnS Extra to control fuel and spark. My first question is, what is the 029y4? Isn't that the latest MSnS version? I'm reading mobythevan's writeup and it tell's me to download 3.0? I went to the yahoo user group and there seems to be a 3.01, so if someone could guide me in the right direction on that, that would be great. My next question, do we use the FIDLE (Fast idle) on the board to control spark like mobythevan says or should we follow what the DIYAutoTune write up says and use "D14"? Thanks!
  24. What is the procedure on this? How do I access and adjust this bypass spring?
  25. Well we had the Kameari laying around and said why not, but then looked into it. In Corky Bell's Maximum Boost, he talks about pressures in excess of 70 psi can damage turbo seals and cause smoking from oil leaking. Does this sound right? We also aren't running an oil cooler, not sure if this is a factor at all, but my look on it is if you're moving the oil faster, the cooler it will be.
