  1. Alright, sounds good. We also plan on sealing off the stock return line due to the fact that it will not be used and probably won't just because of its small size. We will be returning to the inlet that points to the front of the car and venting through the inlet that points to the driver side of the car on the high part of the tank.
  2. Looking at a /73 fuel tank, is there any reason not to seal off the fitting on the driver side of the car right next to the exhaust? We are converting to EFI and running our return and vent off the top two on the tank
  3. Well how do I know which Blaster 2 coil I have? I believe we bought it at Advance Auto as a generic part. We also have an Accel coil which we were using in our 240z with stock electronics.
  4. I have a brand new blaster 2 coil, will this work fine with the DIYAutoTune write up? Also, what kind of connection is made where the wires "t" off for the pull up resistors? And from my understanding, if you're using the IGBT on your board, you dont have to use the GM HEI correct?
  5. Ok just did a little reading and can I just go completely by this guide: http://www.diyautotune.com/tech_articles/how_to_megasquirt_your_280zx_turbo.htm
  6. Hey guys, so take a look at the diagram below and this one Is there a reason the top diagram incorporates a "GM HEI" triggering module while the second does not? Is the HEI 4-pin unit necessary for the install with the '83 280zx turbo distrubutor?? Additonally, we are using Megasquirt 1 with PCD 3.0 board and will be controlling fuel and spark with MSnS-E
  7. Anyone, anywhere, have any input on the matter?
  8. Well in that case if I throw the copper heat sink on there shouldn't be any issues, except for the fact our downpipe is wrapped. Would this be a big factor?
  9. Uhhh.......I think you should do some reading before jumping to the conclusion of putting twin turbos on your engine there, pal. What are your goals for this car? Why do you want twin turbos? Are you installing supported bottom end hardware?
  10. Is MSA really THIS uneducated about this stuff? I figured they've been in the biz for a while
  11. Would running the Kameari high po oil pump hurt a rebuild L28ET with stock turbo? Would it damage the seals in the turbo at all?
  12. I posted it here because the 02 SENSOR is an electrical component. Why would MSA place the bung so close then?
  13. Hey boys, read a thread about the bung on the MSA downpipe being too close to the turbo. Is this such a problem that we should have it relocated? We just wrapped the downpipe with thermo-tec heat wrap as well. Has anyone had any problems with their o2 sensor going bad because of this?
  14. Has anyone used the Kameari high performance oil pump with their turbo setup? I am afraid of using this pump and running too high of pressure. Does anyone have an input on this?
  15. Alright just found the old one, sorry. I think we'll see if we can make this work. For temporary, we're not running an oil cooler and instead, just looping the input and output together. Thanks guys
  16. Hey guys, I believe there is an O-ring that seal the oil filer housing that has the fitting that run the lines to the oil cooler. I have lost this o-ring and was wondering where I could find another one. Thanks!
  17. I would gladly order one but they too expensive and all of those are from australia
  18. We actually just acquired a pallnet barb style fuel rail, so barb is the way we're going to go. We are going to use the 1988 Ford Thunderbird 370cc injectors (barb style) with a Walbro 255lph pump with the stock 240z tank and lines (someone in my other thread siad they run this setup fine) and hope to install a surge tank later. Give me your input, thanks!
  19. Alright so here is what I have learned. First, use low impedence injectors and wire them without the resistors initially, and use the PWM. I have decided on 1988 Ford Thunderbird Sport Injectors, which are low impedence 370cc barb style injectors. Does this sound correct? We are using the stock intake manifold with pallnet fuel rail and stock brackets to hold the injectors in. Will a Walbro 255lph pump be fine for this application?
  20. We have a Megasquirt 1 with PCB 3.0.....how do I know if I have 2.2 or not?
  21. Considering this, how much of a difference would the bigger vent port on the tank make for the return if the evap line you suggest for the return is still smaller than that vent line? We also have an issue with the fuel tank filling only half way because we have no vent to the filler neck to let air escape, so if we use the vent line at the top of the tank for the return, which inlet on the tank do we use to vent to the filler neck??? PS: I hope this setup will not cause us starvation problems under heavy loads.
  22. Additionally, I just read about the PWM (pulse width modulation) in megasquirt and found that very interesting and an alternative to inline resistors. Which would you guys recommend??
  23. Ok so use low impedence barb style 440cc injectors with inline resistors for use with megasquirt, correct?
  24. Hey guys, I've skimmed through the injector thread but cannot seem to find a high impedence barb style 440cc injector. We have a Pallnet barb style fuel rail. I'm assuming 440cc injectors will be fine with the stock turbo if we're looking for a little under 300whp. These won't be overkill, will they? And as fasr as the high impedence factor, should we use these or run resistors in the wiring with low impedence injectors (we will be using megasquirt 029y4 pcb 3.0 if this iinformation is relevant). Thanks again guys
