  1. The motor does have bolt ons and some head work. I am looking for some other lt1 dyno runs to see if this is right. I would like to find some lt1 dyno runs using the 4l60e and 2600 TC. The TC might be the reason for the low HP.
  2. Took my Lt1 240z to the dyno today. I was there for 3hours trying to make some more HP, but it was tuned in close allready. My HP was low but the torque was very good. 319hp 400.02 pounds of torque@2200
  3. No pics, but I will be at the Dyno on Monday so I can find out how much HP I am making before and after. And then I will be back at the track Wednesday (Sacramento race way). Mike
  4. (Yeah I was thinking of mentioning the surge tank too, but I'll tell you from what I've seen making and using one of these is kind of a PITA....) Using and making a surge tank is very easy. Why take a short cut on a turbo motor? Just spend the time the 1st time and then it will be done.
  5. Scottie I just need to program the ecu some more. The day before the track the car was shifting at 6500 so I then programed it for a lower shift point but I went to far with it. I want to get it to the Dyno before I drive to Texas for 2 weeks. I think the 30lb injectors might help. I just need to put the WBO2 on it for some tuning. I would like to see the MPH in the 118-119 range. BayAreaZT The R230 is out of a Q45 and I am using the cv from the Q45 also. Mike
  6. Just use the stock tank with a surge tank. This way you can run the tank down to empty without any problems in the turns.
  7. Engine-- I ported the stock heads and put in a small cam. I still have the 24lb injectors but I have some 30lb ready to go. The car is not tuned at all and it is only shifting @ 5200 so I am not in the power band that long. I am at about 5000 rpm at the end of the track. I am using 235 drag radials 26" tires and as Scottie said it is all in the 60' not the power. I also pased tech with my new roll cage and 5 point harness that i put in last week. Mike
  8. Just got back from the track (Sacramento Raceway) and I had some good runs. I still need to work on the tuning. My car was shifting at 5200 and I need to bring it up to about 6100rpm. I am going to try and get some dyno time in next week. 11.812 1.68 60 ft 7.49 1/8 @91mph 11.812@114.4 All motor I think that I can get the car down to 11.4 with some dyno time. The R230 is workig good. Mike

  13. AZ to Oregon, what a move and not so hot.. I had a vortec 350 in my 89 Truck I had to have a egr. What I did was tap one of the headers for the egr, worked ok and passed smog. You might want to look at Sallechevrolet.com for some info. I just bought a set of vortec heads for my 327 v8 z. I am going to run the Comp cams 268 with them. The 268 is the largest cam with stock springs that I can run.
  14. When I used Sanderson headers I had to heat up the header and bend it down about 3/4". Just get header red hot and it will bend. Mike
  15. Upgrade to the 95 optispark, it should help out.
  16. I would just wait one more year and take off all of the smog parts now. it make the LT1 motor look better. Mike
  17. I have always left on the sway bars. I installed some stiffer springs also to help keep the car from squating too much. Just put on some good tires. Mike

  20. I might do a ls1 swap in my new z in about one year. I will be in Texas in one month, I was temted to buy this one. I would like to see some of your pics of your mounts if you have them Phantom. Mike
  21. I have been watching the price of LS1 engine swaps on ebay. Looks like the price is now unter $3000 for the motor/trans ecu ect. Right now there is one on ebay 3 hours left for $2000 ebay #2437355102. Looks like there will be more LS1 swaps out there.

Part # 12366573 is a high rise dual plane manifold with a holley carb flange. Part # 12496822 is a high rise single plane manifold with a holley carb flange. Part # 12496821 is a Throttle Body Injection manifold with EGR. Part # 12498060 is the SDPC TPI vortec base manifold.
  23. Some people thought that they flow less than other vortec heads. From what I have read they all flow about the same. I had a 1997 Vortec 350 in a 84 volvo and the only mods that I had was a Salle chevrolet cam (small) Intake and carb, stock manifolds. The car would run mid 13's in the heavy volvo so the vortec motor should run good in a z. The free Z that i just picked up has a 327 and it needs some new heads so I might put on some vortec heads.
