  1. I paid $700 for mine, but they should be less now.
  2. Joey Are you doing the swap at your shop? Let me know if you get the motor in and I will stop buy with some sanderson headers for a test fit. Mike
  3. http://www.ls1240z.com/Video/Untitled.WMV This is long but give it a try. It might not work for dial up internet. Mike
  4. When I wanted to do my Ls1 swap I called up Johns Car, but I did not want to spend my $$ with someone that is very rude on the phone. After all I am trying to give them some money. If I wanted to keep ac I would of made my mounts just like Cyres, Maichor. They use the Corvette mounts and it lets you keey the stock alternator and ac loacations. I did not want ac so I made some very simple mounts that will bolt right into the stock z-car x-member. The only bad thing is that I had to move my alternator to the top pass side. Johns car mounts the motor further forward, this is why they are able to keep the alternator in the stock loacation. $295 is not bad for some custom mounts.
  5. You will like the auto, they are alot faster than the 6-speed ls1 swaps. You might want to put a transgo shift kit in your 4l60e before you do the swap.
  6. Are you going to use the auto or a 6-speed? I like your car, very clean. Mike
  7. Tim The best time witht he Lt1 was a 11.78@114 mods to the lt1 where ported heads, cam, 52mm TB, 1.6RR, electric Water pump. I had more $$ in the LT1 than I do in the LS1. Ls1--mods--only mod to the motor is a small cam from MTI. I hate to say it but it looks like the LS1 is a better motor, and this is coming from someone that had a LT1. Mike
  8. Zfan I am also using the 235/60/15 drag radials I have found that 11 psi works best for them. I am using the stock 4l60e trans with a shift kit. I am also using 200/225lb springs on the car. qwik240z I want to go 10's without NOS, I need to get my mph up to about 122mph. Computer is tuned when I went to the dyno. Turbo Meister Thanks--I think the car will get faster-- I just need to get my 60' in the 1.4's. Mike
  9. Only motor mod so far is a small cam. car weight is 2580 lbs this is using the tracks scale.
  10. Went to the track today to make some more runs with the LS1 swap. Car was running very good. I also have some vidio of the run that I want to post as soon as I learn how. 60' 1.58-----Drag radials 1/8 7.276 @ 93.024mph 1/4 11.483@116.95mph Also can some one tell me how to put the vidio up on the internet? Mike
  11. qwik240z If you want to keep the stock ac you might have to mount your motor using the corvette mounts. This is the way that Cyres mounted his motor. The stock Datsun motor mount X-member will have to be cut for the ac to fit. My stock Exhaust manifold fit ok but I wanted the larger headers. Good luck on your swap. Mike
  12. Phantom You are making the power to run low 12's all you need now is some tires. I am using Drag radials, you might want to try them. I think that is what lonestar1 was using also. qwik240z The only mod to the motor so far is a small cam, I also put a shift kit in the 4l60e trans. I am using the r230 diff 3.54 gears. The LS1 feels just like my LT1. I am hoping for some faster times this Sunday, I will take a vidio of the runs.
  13. Phantom I am using 13/4 headers with dual 2.5" exhaust. I am using the 3.5" intake cold air. I am using Drag radials.
  14. I took the car to the Dyno on 2/20/03 made 345.3 RWHP 349.4 RWTQ I also took the car to the track today 11.7@113.44 1.636 60ft
  15. Phantom did he get his new motor up and running? Any dyno runs that you know of? Mike
  16. Here is a pic of the drivers side, this is a pic of it before it was done.
  17. I would have to say that is too blunt. I do not think that there is one right way to mount the LS1 into the Z. I was going to use JOHNS CAR mounts but when I talked to them they where very rude. I will post some pics tonight, try to keep a open mind. Mike
  18. Briguy280Z It looks like you are not using the MAF? Did you program it out? It also looks like you have a 1998 LS1 just like Phantom.
  19. qwik240z you might want to use the auto to start with and then put in a 6 speed later. The 4l60e will fit in your car just fine, before I put my motor in I installed a shift kit. Good luck with your swap
  20. Briguy280Z you might be able to run it on the drivers side, on my car the radiator hose would have been a problem. 9c1cruiser I have the motor in the same loacation as the JTR. I took my car over to Johns house he now owns Cyres old LS1/t56 car and my motor is only 1/16 forther forward that his ls1 swap. I think that the LS1 is 60lb lighter than the LT1. I had alot of fun with the LS1 tonight on streets.
  21. 11.99 or faster and you need the 6 point roll cage, along with many other items. I wish this rain would stop so I could take my car to the track. Mike
  22. Briguy280z, Itake parts Intake parts. Air flow systems inc http://www.airflo.com Reducing elbow--take you from the 4" TB to the 3.5"Mass air #90hl40r35 $26.69 bellow connects the mass air to the 3.5" mandrel inlet pipe #3h35 $14.20 I bought the 3.5" mandrel bend from Magnumforce in San Jose Telephone - 408-559-6633 $28.95 To clean the motor all I used was a rag and some soft soap. I took the car to the dyno last Friday but I was having fuel problems. I found out later that is was a bad fuel filter, but I did make 305rwhp@only 4,000rpm. Goodluck with the Ref on your swap. Mike
  23. Last time that I can remember snow in SanAntonio was in the 80's.
