  1. Alright i didnt want to ask here, hence my seperate post, but, how many sensors are comming out of the t-stat housing, and how many rongs are comming off them. This is the last part of the wiring to be finished. Then i will be done. It runs now but it is pouring fuel in and makin it stall.
  2. Alright, i finally got the wiring almost done and it fired up finally after 3 weeks. It is am 83 turbo motor with the hydro head. My question is my t-stat housing has two sensors in it. One has a single round bullet connector coming out of it, and one is a two blade similar to the fuel injector plugs. Are they both suppose to be the bullet connector type? My car is running like the coolant temp sensor isnt plugged in so i am guessing that this may be my problem. If not, it may be the AFM. I have to swap back in the guts after the previous owner swapped them out with his NA guts. I guess i have some tunning.
  3. I have a 77 with a 83 motor in it. The wiring doesnt need as much attention as in the carbed Z's. You only need part of the wiring harness.
  4. I sent you a turbo wiring diagram, let me know if you need anything else. I have plenty more.
  5. The guy i got my car from didnt hook the moto up to the oil cooler, but it is still there. Where are the lines that have to go to the oil cooler. Were they metal lines?
  6. That is actually very cheap for those. I dont think you will find them for much cheaper.
  7. Actually i haven't worked on it becuase of the recent ice storms and waitning on a new distributor. But otherwise it is near completion.
  8. Ok, this junkyard i got to has a 5 lug 300ZX turbo. I have to go back up to confirm it has a LSD still though. I am planning on taking the front hubs for a 5 lug convo andwas wondering if i should take the whole rear end and try to get the rear hubs to work. Has anyone done this into a 280 yet? Someone must have..... this is HybridZ. I wont begoing up until Wensday. Thanks. Ryan
  9. you would probably need some kind of electronic controller for the sensor. But as far as i know, there is no aftermarket ABS kits. But then again i don't know anything.
  10. Mines an 83 with the hydrolic head. It is funny how this is suppose to be the easier swap. Hopefully once i get my new distributor mine will be done, but i think i might have the same coil wiring prob as you right now.
  11. I have not used them but i will tell you he does do quality work. He lives by me and i have seen this throttle body spacers for the 240sx TB swap. They are very nice quality. Check out his website. He is basically just getting started and is offering very good prices.
  12. Does the green light on your ecu light up? It should if there is power going to it.
  13. yeah the crank sensor is the distributor. I need to figure out my wiring of the coil to. Mine is a mess. I am also waiting on that picture so someone out there post on por favor!
  14. Thanks that is what i wanted to hear. Also, the 5 lug wheels have to still be the same offset as if the 4 lug, like there is no space difference?
  15. Alright, i have been thinking about changing over to Ross's 5 lug conversion. What brakes do all of those who have them use? I dont want anything too aggressive, just something better than stock. I do some track events and definatly want vented rotors. I was thinking 300zx 5 lug rotors and the toyota calipers, but will they work with the 5 lug. I can get the spacer for those rotors, so that is not a problem.
  16. yup that is me. Cool, thanks. Will come into very good use as you can tell.
  17. Tell me about it. I think i have it wired up, but i need a new distributor. I might have one by next week though. Once i can get a peek at a real 83 ZX i will know that the car is correctly wired up where the previous owner wired the coil. I dont know if it is correct or not because he ghetto rigged it. Will probably have wiring finished by weekend also, though. zGood Luck. Also take some pics of the wiring for future swappers so they can see how it needs to be.
  18. On the subect of fuel rails, i was going to make a custom fuel rail, and being a holley distributor, i can get 12, 18, and 36 inch fuel rails for fairly cheap. Would the 18 be too small, because i feel 36 is too long. The reason i ask is because i get them cheaper than 12 a foot and dont pay shipping. It cost me about $30-33 for the 36 inch piece.
  19. Alright i about done with the turbo swap except the harness original owner cut off the water temp and thermal transmitter connectors. Why is there one white wire going to a two terminal blade connector for the water temp sensor? This cant be right. someone tell me i am not crazy. Even the wiring diagram i have is showing that. I looked it up at the parts store and they are all two wire blade terminals. Help someone.
  20. Mine is sitting next to my couch. Hopefully i will get the rest in today. Was out there trying to replace the whole 77 harness with the 83 and now i feel sick after just unhooking everything. I think i might just put everything back. I am looking at this seeing that if i try to hook up the ZXT harness i will do a lot of cutting and splicing in that panel where it hooks up to the fuse box. This is one pain in the arse when you dont have a garage when you can just strip the whole car out and work from there. Take many pics as you install the harness.
  21. you will only need the main engine harness that goes to the ecu. The windows are not run off of the ecu. I dont have anymore answers as i am stumped trying to wire mine right now.
  22. If you are going to go carb, do yourself a favo and use edlebrock. You wont hae the same problems as with a Holley. Holleys need constant rebuilding and adjustments. With an edlebrock it is mostly plug and play, but it is usually good to tweak itfor the best performance. Also they will last years before they need to be rebuilt. I sell both of these products and can tell you it is usually better to go edlebrock. O yeah, i have been wanting to remove some of them damn emmisions crap because i need room for intercooler piping. That carbon canister will be the first to go seeing how i am already missing some smog equiptment from the turbo swap.
