  1. Details details.. way too many details to mention here..some shouldn't be mentioned here either.. :flamedevil: . I literally talked with hundreds of Z people! When one group packed it in for the night, I'd tag along with another group and go out again..3-4 bars in a night...And the Tat?..what can I say I didn't get it to hide it, and besides the ladies in CA love it! 8) Hybridz'rs,... Jim here was with us for the pre MSA hooters bash!.. He came for a while for the post bash as well (maybe to see "Da Bomb"..not sure), but could not resist the temptation to see a baseball game Sooo near by! Super guy and the Pres for the ZROC club in Ohio as well. I had him saying "zed" after a couple of days! hehe.. People kept asking if I was the "ZED" guy! hehe Didn't take long for them to figure it out though... And Vicki?!..hehe I heard a rumour from some others at the show that she had a Z tat, and just had to see for myself. Z freaks need to stick together ya know! There were some pretty over the top Z afficondo's there! :flamedevil: It was a great weekend!! I think I fit in 2 weeks of fun into 5 days!
  2. Ok So after a brief talk with John C. at the MSA show, most of the ideas talked about in my post about exhaust fumes fix and rear belly pans won't work, or are questionable at best. Cool.. no worries..Thanks very much to John for the chat. Ok.. so a rear bellpan/diffuser needs to be set very carefully or plane like characteristics can happen.. OK.. so I've heard that 7-9 degrees is best at keeping the air velocity high.. more than 9 degrees, and you can get stalling of air, and a product of slow moving air under the car is LIFT... What if you have LESS than 7-9 degrees... can you get some lift effects?... I'm not shooting for 160+mph runs or anything, I'm looking for not killing myself with fumes, or making the wrong kind of wing under the car... Its more of a wow factor (my usual reason), but also to combat fumes.. I have done pretty much everthing except redesign the exhaust.. which may happen, because the car is not "date" friendly if you get my meaning, and it is hard enough to find a good woman, without scareing her away with poisonous fumes! So.. I'm designing another bellypan, and I am mocking it from cardboard as we speak. Am I crazy?..oh yeaaaa..........Only death can stop me... Thanks for the input folks! Scott
  3. http://www.usacomp.com/ Try them as well...Though I'm kinda partial to Simmons...hehe no I'm not biased! :flamedevil:
  4. Hey ya.. I didn't even think of that!...hmmm just get a pair of fronts to go in the rears!..hmm a little spacer, and wala.. more travel!... Thanks!!!
  5. Good job! I like the idea for the strap!..hmmm gives me some more ideas to work with.. My solid SS mount is driving me nuts now that the rest of the car is sooo quiet.. darn thing echos through my roll cage!...ahhhhhhhh Thanks
  6. oh yea.. ya joined the club all right! Welcome aboard!.. I now know 4 people with Z tatoos!
  7. Hey all.. This is a pic from the MSA show! What a great day! Miss Vicki triumphed with a third place OEM class Orange 280Z! Thanks go out to Vicki (the 280gal) for suppling the pic, and being a great sport!
  8. Do they still even make them? I'm considering buying a pair to replace my tockicos in the rear of the car. I was considering the blacks because my suspension is sooo low, i'm only using the top portion of the shock valving...or is it the bottom portion...hehe whatever.. I'm not using the full range of travel... I already have it figured out how to install the shorter cartrige in the stock z strut. (ya just need a spacer to fill out top few inches to hold the cartrige at the bottom.) A piece of pipe will do.. Last part of the question anyone even know where to order them from?...the place I ordered mine from is long since gone the way of the dodo bird. Thanks! BTW I'm aware of the changes to the suspension characteristics that will happen with a change like this... If the shorter blacks aren't avail...or way $$$ any other ideas to hold 275 lb range of spring? I have stock spring perches, and the car is lowered 3"+ I use a shorter spring. Hmmm I suppose I sould switch to a 240 upper perch...which is about half the height of the 280 upper perch....and use a longer spring..hmm that would give me some more travel...of the shock...hmm Any thoughts? I"m not desperate yet, but i"m in the process of raising the car a 1/2 inch... new tires rub with 200lb passenger on large bumps.... Ahh the fun of customizing...hehe Thanks
  9. Sorry but I kinda like the look... it sure needs paint, but it sure has an agressive look to it.. ok ok the interior is a bit ugly...but I'm sure that body is fairly unique..I've never seen rear flaring like that before.. But hey to each his own.. not everyone likes my car the way I built it either. Enjoy your new car, and I hope you get it the way you like it!
  10. I also like the Sony MD. Small.. battery lasts 20 hrs..80 songs easy on one disc.... Mine is a MZ-N707 "Type R".. yup it actually says "type R" on it!!! ahhh I'm a ricer shoot me now shoot me now!
  11. This is my fav muscle car... Now this is a muscle car with attitude. :malebitchslap: or is this just old skool rice?
  12. Agressive! Welcome to the new wheel club!! lots of us in it now...hmm I should have bought stock in aluminum mfg! hehehe Enjoy!
  13. Definately oldskool cool! Gun metal centres look mean! Wahhoo.. seems like everyone is jumpin on the new wheel bandwagon! Isn't it fun spending money your Z? hehe
  14. Hey Yasin! Drop me an email before you head out here. I'd be happy to try and meet up for a beer...I'll bring the Z to! hehe Someone asked about the flares..The entire rear flares are a 1 piece 1/4 panel with the wing moulded and part of the 1/4 panel. They are custom made one off...though i do have the moulds for them.. I added the rear vents after the panels were constructed...I didn't want them acting like parachutes driving on the highway.. hehehe Thanks guys!
  15. cool sleek look! Is it low enough?..ya look like you might fear speed bumps like me..
  16. A former co-worker of mine was pretty serious into this racing dodo. So, he took his 2 door black Honda Civic. First, he put on the white rims. Than, he did the one windshield wiper. Next, he was given a fully painted body kit for his birthday. Than, he spent 2 months salary to drop an integra GSR motor in. He took it to JAX, and ran an 10.8. woohoo... Hahaha ya had me there for a sec.. I was like..uh..whats rice about runnin a 10.8?.. 1/8 mile!!?? BWAHAHAHAHA :malebitchslap: Good one.
  17. Waterless carwash is a product made by envirotech (and no I don't sell the stuff for them) Its liquid that lifts the dirt off the body of the car, and encapsulates it so it doesn't scratch the car. It has a pressurized container, that is manually pumped up..so no aerosols.. It has UV blockers, you wash the car with it, and you do not need to wax it....and it is VERY slippery when finished...heck my terry cloth towel.. just slides right off the car... Obviously if the car is VERY dirty, this stuff won't work. A lot of car show guys use it around here, anyways.. I keep it in the car...when I get to a car event, I quickly go around the car, and wash it right at the show! No scratches so far on my black cars! Great stuff.. works on glass too... I hardly ever need my windshield wipers in the rain when I use this on the glass...Environmentaly safe as well.
  18. Hehe.. you just keep your soap to yourself. Thanks guys. I'm very happy with the new wheels. 17x11 Simmons with 315/35/17's out back. This little beast does have an engine, modded...just a bit..hehehe
  19. Just posted some new shots I took of the car today... This is the most common view people see of my car! hehe I'm in the process of putting up more on my imagestation site, and here. I finally got a decent rear shot..
  20. I read the repeal of the CA law, and it reminded me to let ya'll know about that bill c241 here in Ontario was squashed. I guess it was just a bit too restrictive.. ie window tint would be considered illegal, and confiscation of "prescribed" aftermarket equipment could be removed imediately at the owners expense. The original motive was all the F&F pop culture to ban NOS on street vehicles. hehe might as well ban double clutching too...cause we all know you don't win races by not double clutching BWahahaha.. Peace!
  21. Cool guys!! ya know that reminded me about our anti street racing/customized car law that I mentioned up here finally got killed..
  22. ONLY human blood?! I guess that is a clause in there for people with vapiriac tendancies... I don't know whats worse.. that you took the time to write it, or that I took the time to read it! Nothing like wasting time at work....uh.. I mean lunch break! hehe
  23. This may sound silly, but have you adjusted/checked the valves?.. or are they hydrallic? (sp?) Just an idea...recheck the timing if you do have valves that need adjustment. Good luck.
  24. I know of only 1 proper swap done. Very expensive. huge PITA! (according to the owner) definite WOW factor.. fast too! There is NO documentation on this swap...so it will be mostly reinventing the wheel. Sorry I have very little else...
  25. Hey guys. I know this may sound real newbie of me, but... I understand that i/c's are generally not very effective in low boost applications (on a low compression engine)... a VG30ET for an example..hehe Well currently, I have my t3/t4 hybrid on and 2.5" i/c pipes and a large i/c... question is just for curiosity, but what are the effects of running very low boost through this system. During my breakin of the new engine, I have been running 5 psi. I am currently waiting for an oil change, and a quick check up to ensure everything is cool. I will then start turning up the boost. The car ran fine.. had plenty of torque etc... I'm just wandering if the i/c and all the piping was actually impeeding performance during the time I was running low boost.. Yea dumb question...but hey i've never run LOW boost before! Thanks.
