  1. Well, today was the annual dyno day in my club, and I couldn't resist putting my car up for a couple runs to see what my car is putting out since last year! last year I put down 112.9whp and 145.42ft. lbs torque This year I put down 130.39whp and 152.31ft. lbs torque! Not bad considering I only have bolt-on upgrades, everything in the entire long block is stock, although the head was rebuilt to stock specs just before I got the car. now for the obligatory dyno vids! first run: second run: and here's how my engine looked (still looks the same ) the day of the dyno: specs: Clifford Research 6-2 header, with a nice 2-1 merge collector made by me (modified to fit my car) 2.5" exhaust with dual cherry bomb glasspacks (no cat here!) N42 intake manifold, gasket matched on the runner end, ported for the KA throttle body on the other end, and then also shaved down (all done by me) KA24 throttle body Cressida AFM cone air-filter stock injectors stock EFI basically stock everything else (engine-wise)
  2. lol my best out of one run in the car, and also my first (and only) run in a stick-shift car (damn near stalled it on the line )
  3. it's tripple webers with a plenum I want those coilovers!!!
  4. except their option for the fronts aren't that great... I've heard about the 240SX suspension could be adapted to the 280ZX (the springs/shocks anyways). I plan on doing this, but only so I can go lower I've got Tokico HP shocks on all four corners with some no-name "coilover" springs all around (the ones with the adjustable spring perches). For some reason it's really bouncy, but I'm sure it's because the springs are too stiff and I've got my car too low. However, in flat turns, the car handles like it's on rails (for me, at least) even though I'm only on stock wheels with 195/65-14 Falken Ziex ZE912 tires.
  5. Well, I cut two springs out of my front coils and ran them that way for a week (was just temporary till I figured out my other spring setup) and that lowered it about 2-3 inches I think, I'm not sure since I never actually measured it... You could also just do a trial and error thing, starting out with .5 coil, then 1 coil, then 1.5 coil until you get to where you want to be
  6. I know that BAE makes one in their turbo kit. The only reason I know that is because I found one in the junkyard O_O Although the BAE version doesn't have a provision for the wastegate...
  7. I was thinkin the same thing, how much gas is in the tank? My car used to do that, and I pulled the small prefilter off the pickup tube and it solved the problem (although I probably should have tried to find a replacement filter, but I didn't)
  8. LOL right, it's only about an inch in diameter, forgot to mention that in the first post as well... (you don't want to know the amount of stuff I've gotten for free from the junkyard, especially just this last week *cough* Supra turbo injectors *cough*) lol
  9. Well, I went out to the junkyard today, and there was a 260Z out there, and when I opened the hood, the first thing I noticed was this little button on the side of the valve cover (the driver's side at the front, on the area that bulges out for the cam gear): Now, I made this thread to see if anyone knew what this little button means? is it just something someone just stuck on there, or is it something special?
  10. I just turn my motor over by the balancer bolt... much more precise, to me anyways...
  11. This thread needs to be bumped, it's too awesome to be shuffled back to the 3rd page! Update on my car:
  12. Well, until someone proves otherwise, my 16.9 is the fastest. lmfao!
  13. lol they're Clifford Research equal length 6-2-1 They came out of a 280Z in the junkyard and I got them for $20 (although I had to cut the heck out of them just to fit in the 280ZX chassis, and they still rub on the steering column )
  14. lol I'm pretty sure the stock auto tranny's are stronger than the manual trans's... (at least that's what I heard)
  15. wheel fitment is dead on perfect for my tastes! You should seriously come down here and do a shoot on my car! (it's not worthy though... lol)
  16. [quote=scottyMIz;1055951 i have 1.5" spacers coming hopefully tomorrow so it doesnt have the "battleship" look as racinjitter calls it fronts are 16x7's backs are 16x8's fronts are 15mm offset backs are 0 well worth the 290 bucks i spent on em I demand to know where you got them from, and what size tires you're running. NAO. lol (please?)
  17. Well, on my car, the only wiring connections it had were two bullet connectors, but I've never traced where they go exactly...
  18. lol, I took the auxillary fan off of my car with no problem... and I live in Vegas, too... lol
  19. I did this just as they say in the article, and it worked just fine I used the Cressida AFM that has a square access door, just for reference (the car was the earlier, boxier model) I didn't really feel any difference, I mean, there MIGHT have been a bit of a pickup, but with my stock TB, I didn't expect to gain much if any at all
  20. Well, there's quite a bit of work involved, I definitely say you should read slownrusty's write up, because if you just slip them on into the stock spring perches, it'll be higher than stock lol And I didn't realize it until a couple days later that my perches had come loose and made me end up with about a 1/2" of travel while the wheel was in the air! lol I think all you'd really have to do to go really low would be get a set of camber plates, because apparently they give you about 3/4" more shock travel But I would say if you want to slam the car on the ground where the frame rail is dragging, then go for a set of 240SX coilovers (search around in the suspension forum, there's a guy that made an adaptor to run the 240SX coilovers on the front )
  21. Nope, I have one of those coilover setups similar to Yasin's (slownrusty) 280ZX, but I used Tokico blues all around, and a generic spring/threaded collar combo (they're "supposed" to go on a DC2 Integra or similar Honda, but it's all the same, and it rides just fine) I still need to do the rears, in those pics, I only have the stock springs with 2 coils cut, but now I'm running just the coilover springs in the back (the threaded collar won't go down far enough without cutting the shocks up, and I didn't have time to do that lol) no pics as of yet, however, I want to wash it first
  22. nope, those are the rotors, and they're stock... lol they probably just look big because of the size of the wheels And I'm actually lookin at a new set of wheels right now, but I barely have money for the wheels, and I need to keep a stash "just in case" lol (just so you know, I'll probably take the tires off if I do ship them, mainly because they're old and probably not safe lol)
