  1. Yes, post pictures, because I have a hard time believing that your car is that low, unless you sectioned the strut tubes like I'm doing. When I first got my coilovers put on, I set them at no suspension, the strut body was up against the strut bearing, and I was running short little 185/60-14 tires, and my frame rails were still more than an inch off the ground... That will be fixed when I get my car back on the road, however, I'll be able to set my rails on the ground and still have some shock travel to go lol it's also weird that you had tie-rod problems, I dropped my car, and I didn't even buy bumpsteer spacers, and my toe was still in check (didn't have it aligned, but the tires didn't wear funny lol) maybe because your car has power-steering?
  2. An NA S130 shifter is completely different from the Z31 trans. the thread pitch I have no idea on though. but now that I read the title again I understand the question, but the thread pitch should be the same... if not, it's not like thread pitch is that difficult to fix lol
  3. Trust me, I have no fear of cutting or welding lol I just wanted to know because my curiostity senses were tingling... And on that note (damn curiosity senses again), I thought that doing the conversion that way would put the ball-joints at the wrong angle or something? what about hweel placement? are they in the stock position, or are they moved farther out in the well or too far back/forward? (problems when doing the swap in a Z31)
  4. Not to my knowledge, the Z31's have way more support than S130's. Z31's have at least two chassis-specific forums, and alot bigger following than S130's, whereas I haven't found a single S130 specific forum.. And the 510 guys rape and pillage our cars more than anything, the front suspension/brakes at least...
  5. Got some new colors in, only had the chance to try out my new matte black today (not my parts)
  6. I like how this thread turned into another "S30 is better than S130 because of the weight thread" XD anyways, who said they have a late 280ZX-GL? I know I didn't, since I've got a '79 non-GL 5-speed car lol
  7. I've got manual steering already, the steering rod still goes right where my header wanted to go before I cut it up lol
  8. I think my dad got mine for like $190 for everything, as well as some powder (he got it for me for Christmas )
  9. YES I love to powdercoat! I jumped right into the difficult stuff with clearcoats and metalflake though haha: I'm using an Eastwood gun kit. I got the blue and 'flake from a local powder shop though...
  10. It always seemed to me that the S130 has less engine bay space because of how the steering arm goes, right where most headers want to go lol
  11. Yea, because my car totally isn't on jackstands in the pics I posted lol Unfortunately, my car is in pieces right now with the front suspension completely out of the car at the moment, so I have yet to test-fit them yet. (anyone have a poly bushing kit they mind giving me? lmfao)
  12. So how do they mount up to the 280ZX strut tubes? do you have to cut and weld like on a 240SX coilover install?
  13. erm... so if what you're saying is true, then wouldn't the 4.3 V6 be better than the stock little 2.8? The heavier thing is just a myth, and even at that, the S130 is STILL not that heavy.
  14. That only works if you have the T5 trans, which only came in the 280ZX Turbo's
  15. So you have the Ksport/D2 coilovers on your car right now? How did they work, like the Ground Control setup? I'm mainly just wondering... lol
  16. D2 is a knockoff brand, and I don't think anyone has bought that kit from them yet... "RS coilover" to me means that it's just an exaggerated sleeve-type coil over.
  17. The rotors don't bolt on from the rear because they are the slip-on type and those hubs are very hard to come by anymore...
  18. you can also find Nardi hubs on Ebay for Z's as well
  19. The picture with the finger under the lip should be static height
  20. I bought those from the junkyard off of a Thunderbird (of all cars XD ) with all the tires already mounted. There are many, many videos of how to mount stretched tires on Youtube TBH, if I were you, I'd stick with the -44.
  21. Tokico doesn't make Illumina's for the rear of our cars anymore also, I think they might sell a type of shock for S13 240SX's, and those should work on our cars
  22. the 195 tire will make little to no difference from the 205. Also, I reccomend you go with 15's, you'll be happier in the long run (brakes and looks-wise)
  23. 15x10 -44 in stock wheelwells (not rolled or pulled at all) on a 205/60 tire if I remember correctly. Also, a 225 tire made little difference, to my surprise.
