So, did you guys hear about the new Honda-Nissan merger?
icapture replied to auxilary's topic in Non Tech Board
100 bucks says the honda driver was female...actually no, there is actually a 100% chance that it was a woman, instead I put 100 bucks that the driver was an ASIAN woman. -
i agree

I never said I think specifically Hyrbdiz members would fly down to where i live and steal it. But taking pics of a neighbors house, then posting it on the internet for anyone on the planet to see isn't something I wanna do. I know I wouldn't want people taking pics of the house that my Z is stored in, then post them on a car forum, and I doubt you guys would either. Now do you see where I am coming from?

I say do whatever you think is best, you can always switch it up if you choose to. Yea painting the hood black, with black flares, and a black spoiler would be the safe modification, but its also the most common thing out there. If your looking for classic then I say option 2, but if you want the car to be personal and unique, then do whatever you think looks best.

no, and the car you posted is Vildini's shop car. Or at least used to be, not sure if its still running. I know they sold alot of the parts off that Z and swapped the SR20 into a 350Z drift car. Also, if you want that shop to do it for you it is NOT cheap. IMO I think some people think that having the same thing as everyone else in their scene is "boring." They wanna be that one guy at the local Z show that has something different that will bring people to his car to gawk and stare thus giving him a sense of self worth. Personally I agree with you, I think the Z looks best when she has an original dash and center console. But then again, the Z that has the R33 interior is pretty damn sexy and I think pretty much every Z guy would agree with me. But he did a complete interior swap, center console, dash, door panels, and after market seats.

Replica Seats at a great price . . but will they fit?
icapture replied to New-to-240z's topic in Interior
Because we want to be part of the elite group of bride seat owners but not actually have to dish out $2k to be part of it. That's at least my reason. Also, I don't think we actually have a grasp of what a cheap seat will do in a crash. I am sure if Bride bought a few of these seats and did some of their safety tests on em, filmed it, and threw it up online, us potential buyers would probably think twice about putting our cheap little booties in these seats. But I am definitely interested in these seats, definitely thinking about the P2, but I'll have to drop by their shop and test it out. I figure since the harness bar is going to limit my movement back and forth anyway, and since this isn't going to be a daily driver, I should just go with a fixed back. Probably a little safer too, no moving parts to break in a crash. -
I'd post the house, but I'm not all that comfortable snaping shots of a house that has $700k in cars in the garage on the internet. Just a little too close to "casing" if you know what I mean. But the house aint nothing special. probably would sell for $800k in this market.

200k+? The rolls is 400k+, and your right, they definitely wouldn't be first on my list. But i live in a neighborhood with fairly older folks. Cars like this feel good on their old crusty behinds. And as for the color, I knew an insanely rich indian guy who would only buy white cars. Its a cultural thing I think. White shows dirt, and throughout the ages the ones who could wear white were of the noble class.

yea, oil filters that require bloody knuckles every time to remove.
-
haha, I am in the same boat as you right now. And if I had money I would be replacing a whole ton of ****.
-
what?!? someone making fun of a certain rusty street sweeping Z? I cant believe it ; )
-
yea i absolutely hate HOA's that have sticks up their asses, which is pretty much every one. I would just fill up a bucket up with old dirty oil, take a turkey baster, and drop oil spots on everyones spot. yes i am immature.

New Rolls Royce Ghost and some new Bentley. Lets just say I stay far away from this guy when driving into our neighborhood, if on the off chance that something happens with my brakes I don't wanna be trading info with this guy.

Wheel Show! Post your pics of you wheels
icapture replied to k3werra's topic in Brakes, Wheels, Suspension and Chassis
damn man, that thing looks like a monster with those big wheels. Although I will say, I still like the look of your old wat's. But I understand wanting to change up the look and performance. -
Looks great man. Love hearing about guys doing their own body work. And not too shabby for $50. Good work!

How do I remove this bolt? It aint budging.
icapture replied to icapture's topic in Brakes, Wheels, Suspension and Chassis
Thats a great link, Jeff thanks. And your right, thats one hell of a job. I think you may be right. There is something in me that loves to take **** apart to see how it works, but I think that should wait. Because it always seems that when I take something apart on the Z, I just end up spending more money on replacing bushings, brake lines, ect. And your right, to cut the springs I dont NEED to remove this bastard bolt. You win this time bolt, but I'll be back. -

Pretty cool wheels, but not really diggin the white walls. -
Hey guys. So I am in the process of cutting my springs and I have run into a little problem. Removing the rear struts is a tad more difficult than removing the fronts. There is this bolt that connects the strut assembly to the rear suspension art that refuses to play ball. How the hell do you take this thing out? Do you hammer it out with a socket over the threads? Do you pull it out with some specialty tool? I really wanna get my Z back out on the road. Plus with every day that passes I forget more and more how to put her back together. My Chiltons manual was absolutely no help. Talked a ton about the front, but didnt say much on this issue. thanks guys

Damn Jared, how old are you? And how are you able to fund a 3 year long custom Z build. Envy my friend...envy.

Hey guys, So i'm eventually going with coilovers, but until then I want to have a somewhat lower stance. Now I know I can't achieve a coilover stance by cutting stock springs, but I figured I would stop cutting once I achieved a 2" wheel gap. I started off with a 4 3/8" wheel gap (arc of fender to top of tire.) after cutting an inch off the top and bottom of the spring, for a combined total of 2", I achieved a 1/4" drop. So I removed the spring again and removed 2" off each end of the spring for a combined total of 4". I reinstalled the spring and to my surprise and dissapointment there was ZERO change in height. Now since removing 4" of spring resulted in no change I don't really feel like taking the strut off and dissassembling it again (for the 15th time.) so I figured I would come here and see what you guys say. Am I just not cutting enough? Should I be removing entire coils and not just 2-4" of spring at a time? The reason I only cut an inch the first time was that I wanted to gauge how much removing an inch of material would lower the car. If 1" of spring removed equaled .5" of lowering, and I wanted to achieve a 3" drop, then I would know that I would have to remove 6" of material. Know what I mean?

Is his hood opened like that because he's such a hardcore drifter? hey guys, every scene needs retards, the music scene has the hardcore punk kids who were born in the wrong decade and the car scene has honda owners.
