Wheel Show! Post your pics of you wheels
icapture replied to k3werra's topic in Brakes, Wheels, Suspension and Chassis
Get some drop brotha! I plan on going with the xxr's too. But with those wheels ya gotta tuck to have them looking their best IMO. Kind of like this guy's xxr's: -
Wow, looks great man! I would love to know how much sound reduction you notice once you get her on the road again. Talk about totally ripping your interior out! I see you didn't mat the rear taillight panel, any reason for that? Did you also do the roof? if so can we get a pic of that? Also, are you going to soundproof the insides of the wheel wells? I hear there is a good amount of noise that come from those. This is definitely something I want to do.

Ok, yes I'm an idiot, but I need someone to explain this to me
icapture replied to icapture's topic in Fuel Delivery
Hey guys. Well I was right. I'm an idiot. I bought a fuel pump for an SR20 thinking it would work. What I did not know is that the S13 has an internal pump and the 280z as an external pump. So now I gotta exchange this thing for the right pump. Thanks for the help guys, hope this thread saves someone the same trouble I find myself in. -
Ive took my old fuel pump off. There was a hose coming out of the tank and going into the fuel pump, and there was a hose coming out the other end which was the hose taking the fuel to the engine. Makes sense right? Then I get this new pump. And there is only one fitting. Ok, so I hook up the fuel line coming from the tank. So the gas is going into the fuel pump. But where does the fuel come out of? Sorry, but this is driving me crazy. It should be so simple. Gas line in, gas line out. But with only one inlet I'm stumped. And the guys who sold this to me weren't much help. Thanks

S30 independent rear suspension

Hey thanks! Thats true, but you cant look that sexy with just any wheels. You need that step lip almost tucking in order to look that sexy. Now I know its work driving a car that's THAT low and has that aggressive of a stance, but I've never driven a car like that before, I LOVE the look - especially on a classic Japanese sports car - and the Z is a weekend warrior anyway. I drive a slow Jeep Cherokee with lots of body roll on the weekdays.

Been super interested in the 513 because the price is freaking ridiculous. Been looking at Watanabe's but at around $700 a wheel these wheels at $156 a wheel is just too good to pass up. But all the pictures Ive found of this wheel just suck quite frankly. Either people put tires that IN MY OPINION are too tall for the Z and look unproportionate. Or the wheel gap just makes the wheels look like they are 12" in diameter. But finally did I find some pics that actually make this wheel look SEXY: Yea its not a Z, but just wait. Without further adieu:

The CCW's only look that good because everything else on that car is perfect: Wide body, crazy f'ing suspension, paint, brakes, $$$$$$$$ -
I was waiting for someone to post pictures of either the kid face spread across the asphalt and his car beat to hell with golf clubs, or a picture of him being escorted into the back of a cop car. I mean, they find out his address, they find out where he works, they find a bunch of people he scammed, and not ONE person did anything?!? Then again, now that I think about it, if I was to make a personal visit to a scammer you better believe I wouldnt go online and post up what I did. Like we said, no anonymity on the internet. It also pisses me off that he is black. I myself am not black, but it sucks when the person actually fits the stereotype. When I was reading the thread a little birdy in the back of my head was saying, "how much you wanna bet black or Mexican." And low and behold he's black. It would have been better if it turned out to be some white kid who plays on his college golf team. What also pisses me off is he seems to do it to everyone he can. Its not like he had a set of rims, and just decided to scam someone that one time. Doesnt make it ok, but I hate that he is out there doing the same sh|t. then again he may not be, seeing my face, my house, my dad's name, my place of work and school on the internet would scare the sh|t out of me. You never know WHO you are gonna piss off and what they are capable of. Lots of people would kill over $1000.

Bought this fuel pump on eBay a few months ago and have recently got some time to work on the Z. I am attempting to install this fuel pump but there are 4 hoses on the Z, and only one inlet/outlet on the fuel pump. I forgot to take pictures of how the stock fuel pump was set up, and I left some of the stock fuel tubing at Napa (had to buy some new fuel line since I had to cut the old ones off) so I cant really try and just reassemble the stock set up and start over again. Can someone help me out with this? Which lines go where on this new pump? Area in question, which hose to I attach to the new pump? New fuel pump attached to old fuel pump bracket: Old fuel pump: And what is this? Fuel filter?

Are you gonna add more body filler? I ask because you can totally see the center piece of metal. Almost looks indented.

Paintless dent repair before and after.
icapture replied to tightywhitey185's topic in Body Kits & Paint
Had some work done on my 2003 WRX. Guy spent a good 10-12 hours working on about 7 panels. There were misc. dents from doors ect. but also a pretty large dent on the left passenger door. Total was like 400 bucks, but the car looked soo good afterwards. Guy was cool too. Showed me his tools and kinda gave me a quick tutorial on how to do it. What sucks though is as the guy was leaving, I mean this guy was still within sight, some kids from the neighborhood were seeing how high they could hit a tennis ball with a raquet, and BAM! down comes a tennis ball right onto my hood denting it. god I hate kids. -
yea, thats definitely an impressive collection. I think its very cool how some professional car collectors (If this guy isn't a professional I dont know who is) let groups of people check out their rides. Its almost like a automobile museum than a private collection.

When I get the suspension on my w.i.p. done I will cruise by. It will give me a reason to take her out. -
I removed my gas tank tonight in order to remove my right hand side rear bumper shock. When I move the tank back and fourth I can hear stuff moving around on the bottom of the tank. When I looked inside with a flashlight I could see that the bottom of the tank was rusting and flaking, so I am guessing the debris I hear moving around in there is rusted metal chips. There also sounds to be a coin moving around in there, im guessing. So my question: Is it important that I remove the metal chips before I re-install the tank? Also, if I shake the tank back and fourth is there anything inside there I could damage? Maybe a fuel level sensor or something? Thanks for the help. And I am pretty curious to see if it is in fact a coin inside there. Im also gonna give it a quick coat of paint before I throw it back on. No reason not to clean her up a bit while she's out.

Good info on this page. Paint is definitely something I would LOVE to do myself, but I have a buddy who got his car sprayed locally for around $500 and the quality isnt half bad. Especially is you can take off as many panels as possible (I know doors are a bit

Long, sad story of half-assery...I really do need advice

I sure am glad you decided to quote the entire first post... -
Yea, like buy a OEM completely virgin Z dash. Not saying I dont love the guys at Vildini, my car is there now. But the only reason I would consider putting modern dash in a classic car is because the price of a classic dash that is in as good condition as a modern one would cost too much. But Ive seen beautiful Z dashes go for $600 bucks. Unfortunately for my wallet I am looking to get a Z dash wrapped in leather and suede, as well as the center consol...CHA CHING!
-
I do think these are gonna be what I rest my butt in. Ive seen them fit in a Z before, and I just love the wings, I love how the lower part of the seat looks like a molded race seat (kind of like the carbon fiber seats found in some race cars) I love the narrow head rest, I just love it all. And at 500-600 bucks a seat they aren't too bad. I just have to find some reviews on how they stand the test of time. DROOOL:
-
LOVE those seats. I am partial to installing modern looking bucket seats in a 197_ car. For some reason they just dont look right in my opinion. Now, race seats in a race 240Z is a different story. But for a daily driver I dont think they look right. I WANT your seats! Digging that suede center console / dash too man. We have similar tastes. Oh, and I love Norsk girls too ; )
-
How much does Vildini charge for something like that? Do you have to supply to dash?
-
Question. What Recaro seats are those? I was planning on buying a pair that look very similar to those but the guy sold em to someone else. Just curious, perhaps I can find another pair somewhere. I love the size of the side bolsters. BTW, great looking car. I love how the carbon bumpers look on that thing. And the wheels.....drooooool I bet you have some crazy sounds coming out of that car too. This gives me hope with regards to my Z project.

Thats pretty crazy I must say. Ive always found the guys who shape concept cars out of clay amazing. So this is right up my alley.
