  1. you wouldn't happen to be able to make a quick diagram on paint or something to indicate where i would be need to test?
  2. so if I were to test that I would need to run compressed air through IN and have a pressure gauge on the OUT to adequately see if it A) holds pressure; Accurately holds the correct PSI... ?
  3. The MBC has been removed and I'm still only at 5.5 psi... I'm guessing I should be checking the wastegate, but WHAT on/in the wastegate sould I be looking for?
  4. Anyone swap 88 NA ECU into l28et?

  5. Picked up some coolant, new zx lower radiator hose (hopefully it fits) and some new electric fan mounts.
  6. also try yahoo auction japan... ive seen plenty of c10 c110 and c210 parts on there.
  7. not yet, I'll probably have a look this weekend, because cold rainy season is here
  8. You know, now that I think about it, my heater didn't work after I installed the 60amp alternator with the MSA Diode connector. I didn't even think to see that before, mostly because I installed it during the summer so the heater would have never been on.
  9. Yeah I dont like how my Greddy knock-off BOV "flutters", it reminds me of the sound that Wren makes in the movie Splice... Creepy Thinking about going with an Apex'i twin chamber. I get to pick up my car today from repair.
  10. Mine blew out on my l28et a few days ago, coolant everywhere. I was doing 5k in 1st about to shift before i hit 5300rpms and POOF, it blew... Anybody else have something similar happen?
  11. I wouldn't mind one, but I would want to swap in a toyota 4x4 setup, which as expensive as that may be I might as well just get a toyota...
  12. I do that nearlY everyday, pretending there is a larger, louder motor, or a different BOV..
  13. Curious to see what people do on a daily basis to their ride. Today I blew the soft plug underneath exhaust port number 6.
  14. He's stated he doesn't get on here much more cos he's not doing much on his Z right now. He's got something new to piddle with:
  15. Theres a shop in clackamas, Oregon city area, run by a guy named jott or Jauc, I would avoid him.
  16. I assumed so. But it doesn't seem to affect the PSI. eBay brand it comes off the "Y" of the compressor, into the MBC, then into the wastegate Yes Oh, thanks Update: I routed the vacuum hose from the "Y" back into the wastgate... No change, still at 5-6psi. Perhaps a leak at the BOV?
  17. before this gets to the shed thought I'd give you a few links: http://forums.hybridz.org/index.php/topic/39435-help-what-brake-options-are-available-for-s30-z-cars/ http://forums.hybridz.org/index.php?showtopic=86732 Also if you have the ECU, MAF, Dizzy, ALL of the wiring harness, the O2 sensor, you might want to look into swapping that into the 280zxt for more reliability, some insight to it here: http://forums.hybridz.org/index.php/topic/26230-z31300zx-ecumaf-to-280zxt-swap-guide/ I'm in the middle of doing a write-up for this swap, however it applies to the 88-89 N/A ECU, MAF, Wiring > L28ET
  18. So I adjusted my afm lastnight, runs a little better than previously, so I decided to turn the boost up from 5psi - 8psi, turn the manual controller up a full turn. No boost increase. Turned it another full turn. No boost increase. Just for curiosity turned it another full turn and it was maxed out. No boost increase. I read the surging thread a little bit to see if this was what my problem was, but I'm not sure if I understand after reading, that the two are related. I would like to avoid picking up another MBC to see if it was the boost controller that was the issue, instead to find a way to diagnose where the problem area is. Would my wastegate be my first place to check?
  19. ^I like that idea, I'm not sure if mine works, well, it feels like it doesn't at least, it just started getting cold up here and I'm more interested in the defrost feature vs heat. Which BTW is a good way to keep the gf out of the car in any case, I want something more efficient and possibly electronically controlled.
  20. Let me begin by asking do not tell me to use SEARCH, I've done it for a few days and PM'ed a few on here and have come up with a nothing insightful with what I'm doing. And I'll also state I think i've combed over this thread several times and haven't seen a "write-up" on dropping in the z31 harness onto the '83 L28et, unless I happened to miss it in there, which I honestly feel I didn't. My overal goal is to get the '88 ecu, maf, and harness in there after I have NIStune installed, so the engine can finally run properly (long epic story of failure behind it). >>Also I've downloaded XenonZ31's FSM for the '88 and it's a little difficult to follow the wiring diagram, can't tell for sure, but it almost looks like everything within the FSM applies to the turbo model only which isn't helpful because I have the N/A ecu, EFI harness and MAF. If anyone can point me in the write direction or explain "thoroughly" how to swap the harness out, I would be eternally greatful.
  21. Future Plans: 1: SR20de RWD powered saturn SC2 (This project may be canned as I am still looking into sub frames; a local shop has been interested in doing this one, personally I'm sick of Saturn motors and their ridiculous unreliability, however if a Nissan Drivetrain transplant is feasible, I wouldn't mind keeping it around) 2: 3S-GTE Powered AWD 1996 Rav4 (Plenty of them have been done, and I like working on Toyota motors, I just wont be looking forward to future timing belt changes...)
  22. best said plans would be to design one's own mounts, I am eventually going to be installing corbeau's vertical fixed mounts into mine, once proper funds have come through...
