  1. When I ordered this rotor, they said it was for a canadian model this was the only 300zx 4 lug rotor that was available in 3 states, are the canadian z31's known for having smaller rotors?
  2. Its the bracket from this kit: http://datsunpartsllc.com/cart/index.php?p=product&id=171&parent=11
  3. So I've ordered a set of the Maxima caliper brackets for my '73 Z, installed them and when I had everything mocked up (minus pads) I noticed the caliper sits about an inch to 1.5" from the rotor, I thought maybe either I have a bad set of brackets or the rotor is to small? I'm not sure here's a photo: I'm gonna get ahold of the guy who machines these but in the meantime any thoughts?
  4. Have one with a little surface rust, but its straight, not out of shape $25+ shipping
  5. Got a webbed egr manifold, with egr block off plate $40+ shipping
  6. this guy can help http://www.ebay.com/itm/Datsun-Z-240Z-260Z-280Z-New-Aluminum-Rear-Disc-Brake-Conversion-Brackets-70-78-/400292292638?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item5d3347a81e&vxp=mtr#ht_1882wt_704
  7. I just picked up a SVX R180 diff, its vlsd 3.54 and has 27 spline count, i got the axles with the deal too, I'm gonna see what I can do to make it "blend"
  8. I dont have an injection mold or rubber compound mold to fabricate one, so this is the route I took.
  9. Because I'm looking for a more "stock" look
  10. So I had a chance to mock them up a bit tonight. granted the ECU was in the way, I think I got a general idea of what needed to be done. Here's a front shot of the long pedal, ignore the wiry mess: here's from a different angle: and another angle, you can see this one is pushed out a bit too far, I'm going to mess with a few shims to try different angles, and remove the ECU so I can get a proper fitment: The wide pedal took a bit of trimming, I had to cut the plastic tabbing and file down a cone off the bottom of it to rest against the factory pedal, which makes it perfect for mounting it to: You can notice this looks closer in similarity to the OEM pedals, Here's from another angle: and another angle, this one fits a little bit better and further away for a better angle when resting your foot, PLUS, the factory mounting lines up perfectly with the pedal, so drilling a hole to mount it may be easier than the long pedal: Personally I favor the longer pedal, but I will have to do a little more fab work to get proper fitment for both.
  11. Yeah!! then I could get an automatic too!! 2 birds 1 stone.
  12. Once upon a time I saw an aftermarket dead pedal that look similar, if not in fact actually, Momo pedal, much like the pedal kit MSA previously sold. However after an exhaustive search (5min on the internet) I came across no such pedal. And if anyone has big feet like me, you can share my frustration with the minuscule factory dead pedal. So I ventured out to a local pick n pull to see what factory dead pedals I might be able to swap over. Amongst my search I came across only 2 vehicles that had some-what suitable foot rests. The first came from a 3rd gen Jeep Cherokee underside: the second came from a 2000 Suzuki Grand Vitara underside: I was looking for something that would fit for both wide feet and long feet. Gonna look at the fitment tonight and post more!
  13. So I found these wheels that someone is selling and I'm wondering if they will fit on my 240z with S12 Toyota brakes, and factory drums, stock suspension. The wheels are listed as 15x10 +12 and 2 15x10 +0 with 2 have 225/50/15 and 2 195/60/15 also: I have big flares ready to put on as I'm sure I'll need em
  14. I'm using a 300zx harness for mine, however I'm removing every connector and re-looming the wires to best fit the 240z chasis/engine bay. I too am embarking on this--this weekend, if I get to it before you receive an answer, I will let you know if they appear to be able to connect to the 280zxt harness. What year ECU/Harness are you using?
  15. for an S130 its very clean, and crack free, nice job!
  16. They're pretty thorough IMO, I've asked a lot of the same questions years ago when I did my setup, I realized I was overlooking a lot of the simple info provided after some "check here and there" responses hence why I put that up.
  17. "Daniel-San, you have much to learn" This may get sent the the tool shed, not sure, but if it does, here are some links you should try to investigate/research that will help point you in the right direction. Biggest thing you need to know to help answer your question, is what are your goals. Here you go..... http://forums.hybridz.org/index.php/forum/92-turbosupercharger/ http://forums.hybridz.org/index.php/topic/19918-the-ultimate-turbo-faqbeginners-guide/ http://forums.hybridz.org/index.php/topic/82371-my-notes-on-the-na-l28-to-turbo-swap/ http://forums.hybridz.org/index.php/topic/24327-complete-turbocharger-guide/
  18. How much are you looking to spend?
  19. IMO, it has to do with desired end results. 1)Are you wanting to race this car, show the car, or just have something fast on the street? 2)If racing is your goal, what type of racing, drag, drift, autocross, etc. The S30 and S13/14/15 were better meant for some things than others ie: If your objective is to drift, get the S13/14. 3)If you're showing the car then its about showing it and should be a self preference. (my $0.02 : originality is always best, and I'm sure the s13/14 - S30 ratio is like 8:1 4)If you just want something fast, and don't have any other objective, then you're looking at cost and comfort. Both swaps, (depending on the S30 chassis condition) are relatively close in $ amount, but there is more to be swapped into an S30 chassis to better handle the hp/tq you may be running (ie: bigger brakes, suspension, LSD although not entirely a necessity). So if going the S30 route, you may be looking at dishing out more. Also forgot to mention that you would need to set up the 260z to run fuel injection, like using a 280z fuel tank or fuel cell, fuel pump, etc, whereas the s13/14 is already set up for that. Ultimately do your research, and do it thoroughly, and write it down, its easier when you see EVERYTHING on paper (or screen if you're typing) in terms of what kind of work you have to do for the swap. There are many sites that have comprehensive build threads and swap info on the 240sx as well, just can't think of them off hte top of my head other than some local ones.
  20. my 5 speed has the speedo cog bolt on the bottom, but my shift pin "ears" look more like the one on top... is there a 3rd or is that maybe a hybrid tranny??
