  2. for 500.00 , and it starts, jump on it! get it running semi decent, and drive it like you stole it! this car does not have to be the big project car if you dont want to be, and if its rusty definitely not, but think of this, this car will have everything converted already and can be used as a template for the next body, which you can get cheap since you dont really need a drivetrain. either way, you win, and cant lose! i say buy it.
  3. that kit is really fresh, it would make up for the reason im not into the zx's, they dont have enough styling options, man that gnose is cheap, but i didnt know that they werent in the us, and what their amounts convert to, fresh kit though.
  4. that might be a cool swap, but the issue i have with both that rearend and the r230 is the half shafts...the r200 can stand a lot of abuse, its the half shafts and stubs that fail, and both swaps retain them.

    What carb?

    holleys are more geared towards high perf apps and need more tuning than edelbrocks q-jets can be made to be the great in between, giving great cruising performance and awesome wot response, simply because of teh more complex metering system they possess. these carbs get a bad rap that they dont deserve, they are a little harder to work with, but they deliver. theres Leonard. nothing like a holley double pumper to get the party started.
  6. its not the radiator that makes you cool, its the flow of air you can get. i run a stock datsun radiator with a 327 in the forsaken SCARAB position, and i have had over 30,000 cool cool miles....baby im running a flex fan off the motor because its dead reliable, and a 12 inch turbo saab fan in front of the radiator, i used to run 172 on a 160, if i turn the fan on it goes down to 162 constantly, and doesnt get over 175 in a stop and go situation.
  7. that is a nice treatment for a zx, it looks good and the price is right, ever see what a g-nose costs for the z series??? it looks modern too, if i had one, gnose it is! im serious though, im down with it...

  10. man, how you guys find all this stuff at the junkyard, me and davy went to the junkyard and the ultra crazy find was a rx7 steering rack, and this guys talking v12 and supra trans....man id be lucky to find a r200!

  13. im running a points style distributor with the pertronix kit, and a blaster 2 coil, no problems with it yet, except that with the pertronix you have to be kinda careful when you put the cap back on, one time i pushed it off course by putting the cap back harshly and had a crazy misfire had wot, but thats the only issue ive had with the unit so far. swapping out to msd hei one of these days....
  14. you need a different fuel rail to run them, the datsun l28e injectors are kinda old school, in that the fuel rail fittings are barbed and connect to the injectors with a rubber hose, versus nowadays they kinda thread in both sides....
  15. hey im having a weird issue with my 280. it will idle just fine, drive fine, but once i start winding down, slowing down and getting ready to stop and what not, the idle jumps up and sticks to like 1500-2000rpm, once i get back on it the idle drops back down and i am normal again. also, it will idle fine on start up, but once i hit the gas, it will stick at around 1200??? any clues anyone?

  17. owen, please let us in on the story! i havenet seen the guy go head up on the skyline. only ones ive seen have him and the blackbird the blue skyline-the hawaii one the white 280z-the super mechanic dude and a couple others before i gave up, giving me a headache. blkmgk-to make them give you the benefit of extra rubber, you do have to cut them up, and bond them on, but not as much as a fully blended set of flares, but they have that racer racer type look though, and no they dont stick out very far.

  20. they seem to always be shifting, that i did notice, i wish there was just a little street racing, not so much on the freeway.... have you seen the one yet where its like a flashback sequence that puts all different series together, that ones great... the wangan midnite guy becomes a car salesman and the super mechanic goes to hawaii.
  21. im working out that wiring now, i hate it, its simple, but im just paranoid im gonna blow something. im in the process of disecting the pigtail connections that goe to the fusebox, and seeing which ones go to what and what or what i cant bypass. the cool part is that i have three buss fuseboxes lined up in my glovebox and it looks like the sds coilpacks! the wiring harness to the fusebox has fifteen wires, which im grateful for, im almost done, four or five left to go, and im dedicating each fusebox for a certain purpose. i cant wait to finish this one, next step: battery in the back baby.....
  22. i remembe those were the rims they put on so when they upgraded the turbo and dropped in the super l28 motor, and that super duuper huge exhaust he could beat the white 280zx, hey owen, do you understand the storyline, i dont understand a word of that movie, except when they say " at, tweeeeeeeeeeen turbo ah"
