  1. oh duh, forgot, someone on this board runs that motor already, maybe hell chime in, or check zdriver.com for the writeup, its a bad ass swap, iuse to not think so, but i got a ride from a guy with a stock vg30 motor na, and that thing just purrs with the power, nice engine really.
  2. yeah you can do it, a little fabrication and a little patience, you can make that thing a screamer.
  3. get a donor car and jtr kit and the conversion book, lots of tools, lots of bolts, a hammer, a drill, and beer.
  4. the ls1 rules, hands down. im saying stock on stock, forget about it, that things pulls a 3600lb car to a 13.9 in the quarter, with me and another big guy in the car with bald tires!
  5. if efi is your final goal, go with the efi system first and supe it as you go, if you can go ls1, go with the ls1, a couple guyz already dun it, lt1 with a t56 is a cheaper combo that you can get from the junkyard fairly easy. 327 and the 302 are both great motor, but no matter what car you are in and what gears you have, sorry to say it, but the cubes dont lie, they never have and they never will. a 350 is everywhere, and the 327 and 302 blocks are starting to disappear as well. the 280 has a stronger frame than the earlier years, so it would be a fun car to sbc swap, as long as somewhere along the line you threw at least a roll bar that tied into the frame rails.

  11. mr2's use a fan in the engine bay to cool off the motor during high rpm and hot weather useage, the rad with dual fans is in front of car, and the fan is located in the trunk by the distributor, making for a very good strong fan for that extra cooling capacity that you could mount that one guy who has the fan by his strut tower??, found out the other day when i picked up the 85 mr2 on momos baby yeah thats right, if it doesnt pass smog im gonna donate it to a yard where they give you some cash for the cars, and imma strip this batch down like saturday night.
  12. if you guyz have seen the first gen skyline from the 70's it still has the circle tailights, but they are mounted on a panel resembling the early z car, just a thought.
  13. put an erebuni kamikaze kit on it, i thought that it would fit nice with the zlines, im actually going back to a stock front end, silly me.
  14. yikes, just read myself, dang it im so bitter, the watanabes look hard on a z, checked out the watanabe rs8;s??? oh dear me they are the shiznit, 15x11 with a 0 offset, oh man, and i think you can put the flush covers on the rims that they used for aerodynamics, man you could smuggle a whole lot of yay yo in them thangs man.

    truly the only reason i dont run a zx body is the smog, i cant afford to do a swap that will meet smog requirements right now. i think with some custom body work the zx can look really tight, sealing up and filling the trim in to be flush with the body, painting the bumpers same color as car, etc, etc, that extra weight doesnt really matter much because it takes less to reinforce the frame for a motor swap, probably a nice roll bar welded in and some strut bars, you nice, and look at how the fenderwells are set up, man i could have my boss at the shop extend those from the original body lines about another two or three inches a side and run some FATMANS, the newer look makes the ultra ricey stuff look right at home on it, why not, if i had the money, i would do a zx next, 280GNZX... that heavieness is in the frame, doors and a couple other places, making it a little more stable on the top end, and worst case scenario, it will take a hit a lot better than that 240 or 280 will. also, they are cheap! they havent reached the classic status the early ones are starting to achieve, thus they can be had cheaper and they are newer, which means your chances of getting a rust free car for cheap are increased. YAY YAY.

    should be ok, depends on the combo youre using too. it kinda sucks that the z is so limited gear wise.
  18. it comes with the wirign, and its not painless, it replaces everything, i used three kragen fuseboxes together to create a 18 circuit box and i joined another one to it for a spare for a tottal of 24, and got a ton of different guage wire, different connectors,and solder. i now run three primary boxes with all kinds of booby traps for anti theft capabilitys, and an auxilary box that runs only the essential circuits if something were to happen. cost me 40.00

  20. 400hp and a 3.36 rear end? arent you gonna need a really radical cam to pull those numbers, you might not be able to get that much power out to the pavement with freeway gears like that, for me to run a combo to get that much horsepower effectively i would need a 3.90 or even lower ratio to get into the high end power like that. just a thought, dont mean to rattle you.
  21. man im scared of anykind of welding on my tank im just reroutng mine to fill from the hatch, and im smoothing that panel out...man
  22. hey just checked out my wiper linkage, its ok, but whats going on when i try to use my wipers is that the bolts that hold the arms are stripped or the arms are stripped, and the wipers themselves only move about two inches when the switch is on, do any of you guys know a quick fix for that????
