  1. i like the idea of a first gen rx7 with a v8 in it, i think they have a kit for that, dont know if they still make it, but those cars swing em like mini 5.0s, imagine if it had a 302, very sinister...sinister indeed
  2. all this from the guy that was telling me, im gonna do a mild swap....
  3. i know a guy that did it, lt1 7oor4 trans, now an l24 four speed webbers, sold the car for 2500, because it was about to split in half, hmmmm, sounds familiar!
  4. homie, slow it down, you dont need the scarab bellhousing playboy, youll pay hecka cash for a bellhousing that isnt even scatterproof, you know i love them muncies and t-10's best trannies ever to me. you can get a lakewood scattershield and remount the slave from the datsun to make it work, for cheap style, er um, cheaper style, thats what i have, or had....
  5. i think the absense of power steering is ok, it gives a very direct feel to the driving experience, parallelling can be a pain in the ass sometimes, but thats the price i pay to be the king of import race. i like the mustang power conversions, if youre running huge tires up front, its not a bad idea, i could imagine trying to turn some 275/50 series tires into a small parking spot, oh boy.
  6. ok fine its my car, and the reserve isnt 4300, its.
  7. i think the 5speeds will bolt up to any of the "old school" v8s and the ones that they orig came with, the 6spds, well i dont know....
  8. irocs and firebirds from like 83-92 had five speeds, maros and birds from have six speeds 91 and later is preferred for a five speed they are stronger
  9. youll definitely need to trim them, or remove them entirely... you might need a spacer to get the calipers to center on the rotor correctly, but i dont know, some people told me they had to use a spacers and shims and some tell me they bolt right on...i dont know.
  10. whoa, that thing looks hardcore, all im saying is that they better make a carbed version for me, i think im about two or three years away from messing with any fi, how about six holley 2bbls on top of that please......!!!

    muncie q?

maybe not the fusebox, but a little past it forward of original shift area.
  13. rotorys are pretty cool, for me i would only go with one if i could find a way to "jtr" it, and only if i was running autocross in some restricted 2.0 liter class or something, besides that, those things scare me stupid.
  14. i say minimum 300hp to the wheels, and whatever that is 300+300*.15, and pretty dang tough....

    Broke my R200

yeah, i guess the area where you live would have an effect on which way you would go with the diff, over here i think they are very hard to find, our junkyards usually dont have such nice parts, and the ones that do want way too much for them, but the 280z and zxs own our junkyards, and r200s grow on trees....

    hey scottie!

hey mister gnz, i was just wondering how far you were with the vette irs swap,we would all love to hear from you!
  17. i use a 1" tilton mc, and the stock 240 slave with a modified pushrod, works well, muncie 4spd

    Broke my R200

i personally wont do the r230, ive got a lot of faith in the r200, and they grow on trees here in the B-A-Y A-R-E-A. the ratios are also way too numerically high to run anything less than the t56 or an all out dragster. for an l28, i really agree in that move, if im swapping, its a ford 9" cause the nhra mandates it! corvette irs, comes with discs five lugs and very strong as well, and would probably cost a little less than that r230, WITH YOUR CHOICE OF RATIOS...... just my thoughts Leonard "break it before you upgrade it"

    Broke my R200

heres my r200 sucess story. the first year i had the z, i made it a point to scorch tires right when it got warm, and lay posi up the block, once a day.... mix that up with incidents that make me the KING of import racing, and i spun that bad boy a million mother grabbin times, what happended?? broke mustache bar, front mount, driveshaft bolts, and the piece that ties the control arms together, but the R200 LIVES! and doenst howl or anything, believe me, that thing is tough!!!!
  20. i think putting the s2000 motor in a z is a complete waste of time, you could make any l-series make just as much power with more useable torque cheaper and easier, with little to no fabrication needed. 155lbs @7000, is that what you to achieve....sr20 motor is probably a better option, but still a waste of time in my opinion. sr20's are for 510 and roadster aplications in my opinion.if you only want 200hp, i say sr20 or a turbo l28et, its the kids first car isnt it, something simple is good, then he can put money into paint and style points with his buddies...or is it your first car?????hmmmmmmm
