  1. I think initially I was thinking this was the problem. But in my head i have been telling my self it is not just so I won't have to deal with pulling my head.
  2. I don't know the rear end of a S30 that well. But could you possibly put a light bar along the top in the licence plate indent? You could put a light spray of transperant paint over it to blend it in.
  3. I tried picures but the camera was not too clear on up close pics. There are some deposits that are the same color as the plug. The strap has deposites all along the area where the timing is judged. And I have noticed a lot of steam coming out from the exhaust.
  4. Well my only though on it being the injector is that they are only about 3-4 months old. And when I pull the clip off that injector the idles goes down just as much as when I pull one of the olther injectors. I have thought that it might be the injector clip since they are old and cracked. But my problem started about 2 weeks before I replaced the injectors.
  5. I have a 83 280ZX and have been trying to figure out this problem for about 4 months now. I have searched all of the listed criteria for my problems both through HBZ and various other tech site. What is wronge is that I have a rough idle, the #3 cylinder exhaust liner is WHITE and so is the band on the spark plug. The seat of the plug is showing a rich mixture and all of my other spark plugs look fine. I have checked compression and it is ok. All of my sensores are doing just well and I know that I am getting fuel and spark. The only modifications are a N42 manny, 300zx injectors, and 60mm TB. I feel like asking for help is my last resort.
  6. He YellowFever, You wouldn't happen to know a guy that lives in Columbus MS that drives a blue 280z. He works at a SeverCore Steel Mill. My step Dad is good friends with the guy and my moms was saying that his motor is piston-less. I think she might have heard him wronge unless he swapped a rotory in it. I am going to try to find out his name to see if any of you know him.
  7. Price could be a large factor in building a LTT HybridZ. But some people go great distances to be different. I wish I could afford one because I'd be the first to do it.
  8. So I'm guessing the motor was recessed for a better weight distribution.
  9. Very nice Paul. Might I ask why the motor in the 1st engine bay pic is so far recessed into the firewall? I noticed it is a tubo motor and don't know if the application intended called for that.
  10. Nylon tends to be soft in some applications. What hardness would you use for this (I assume at least a 90a)? And there are so many types of Nylon available that its hard to say the temperature threshold. On a side note, I think my spaceer might be less than what I cliamed it is. I am going to measure it tomarrow.
  11. Mine never came this close to hitting the body as yours does here. I think Its because I used a thicker space. Props on the wooden one anyway. I bet that seals pretty well. I made mine out of *EDIT*1.5" Lexan glass. But I do have the simmilar angle linkage as in the other pictures. Your not alone. Also I had the linkage arm on the TB farther down the shaft. Now I have a big post sticking off the side of the TB.
  12. I changed mine out with a brand new one for all of $40. Auto Zone is GOD.
  13. My car wouldnt rev past 2500 and back fire through the intake when I swapped intakes. My problem was a bad ground that left my injectors wide open and I hade a bad vacume leak. Check for both.
  14. Running forced induction, and without porting the head, the dimples are not gonna make that much of a difference with the stock boost.
  15. Well I just got my exhaust completely redone. I got long tube headers, running 2.5" piping, no cat with a single glass pack and I have yet to get back fire. I also have removed my BCDD. I only get a little rumble at around 1800rpm and I have oversized injectors.
  16. You CAN put a 60mm TB on but you must have a way to adapt the tubo J-Tube to the larger body. And of course port the manny. You might as well install an intercooler if you do the TB. And running 15 psi with the stock injectors and no intercooler puts you at extreme risk of detonating. You could realy mess something up.
  17. All I have to say is mine whistles like a MOFO! Which I think sounds pretty bad ass. Any one else getting this effect?
  18. I found the best security system possible. Wireing is kinda simple, and pics too. I doubt any one will try to take this car.

  20. Am I suposed to search it in the key word search function? I tryed this but only get the words in the posts, not the member info. I might just be blind and missing something.
  21. The glory of power tools. I wish I had a rotoy file when I did mine. I used a hand file and it took me about 4 hours to get it done.
  22. Sorry to dig this one up from the grave, but I belive we should have search function to allow us to search for members in our state. This could be very helpful if a member neeed help from someone in thier area they could trust, or if they dont know any helpful resorces in the area. One could search a member close to them for help or even just to make friends with someone with the same interests.
  23. I installed my Alpine head unit about 2 months ago. Even wired up the dimmer and have had no problems with it. I did rewire all my speaker and had to replace all of them too. The 40w amp on the back of the head unit was too much for the stock speakers and blew them all. Let me tell you something, Getting to those speakers in the dash is not the easyest thing to do. But after some hard work I have a great sounding stereo with my Ipod hooked up in it.

  25. As I was browsing through a High Horse Power Chevy magazine I came across an article. GM recently brought out a new V6, The LTT. It first apeared in the Cadillac CTS offering about 255 HP. It is now being introduced in the 2010 Camaro pushing 300 HP and about 275 FT lbs of torque. It is a 3.6 V6 Direct Injected DOHC V6 that seems to have some potential. Carrying two fuel pumps, electronic piece in the fuel tank and a mechanical pump running off a exhaust cam, allows it to push up to 1,700 PSI at max and 500 psi at idle. I did a few searches to find some more info on this power plant but could not find much. I tried to find a Hybrid Z with this motor but it seems like no one has tried or even talked about this. I figured I would try to introduce it to the community for those who didn't know about it. Here is the only pic that I could find.
