wait a minute. The marines where cool but they got there asses kicked. They had to run outside and cry a little. The siggy had to comfort them and suggest that they nuke the place from orbit. They would not last a full day in there. ALIENS RULE!!!! the reason why people think aliens can be beat is that marines and predators just kill a few and then run back home. It is like swatting a bee and declaring yourself a winner. oh oh... here comes the rest of the hive. anyways everyone knows predators don't really exits.

I used 1.5mm2 (I don't know gauge size) And this was also to large. I trhink it would be best to use a smaller gauge wire on the sensor stuff and use bigger wires on the injector and ground wires. The problem was not soldering the wires on the connector ( I used shrink tubing (sp?) on all the wires) but I did not get the case to close around the loom. I ended up taping the lot together. Not very neat but it works. good luck

Let me be the first to congratulate you. Looks great. Will you be keeping those wheels. I ask because I have the same ones and i'm looking into buying new center caps. This would look great on your car too. I will let you know if I find the right ones. xander

No.. IR vision will not help[ the predator but he has diferent kinds of vision. see predator 2 or the game. He will have no problem seeing them coming. I still think you can't beat a hive of aliens though. I hope they will be releasing the game on PS2 with the new network adapter. Then we can start a Hybridz hive or a hybridz clan. That would be sooo cool. xander

I am probably too late now but you should consider getting a internaly regulated alternator. They can be found in the junkyard quite easy. This conversion really made a difference too my car. The headlights were brighter no more regulator and as a bonus you get rid off the fusible links. look here for details http://www.zcarcreations.com/howto/voltreg.htm worked great for me. xander

yes it can be callibrated out but the reason to go with GM sensors is that you don't have too. Else you could just leave the stock sensor. oh no wait you cant, it is located in the afm and you really want to get rid of that thing. This sort of discussions go on all day at the megasquirt mailing list. To me this is the fun part of the megasquirt project. everyone has there own opinion. It is a lot of work to get a megasquirt up and running but to me it was very educational. xander

most cars I have worked on had the air temp sensor located somewhere in front of the TB. Like in the air filter or afm. I don't believe it is wise to place the air sensor in the intake manifold because this can give problems with heat soak. I other words the manifold will heat up the sensor so that it will read higher than it is suposed too. offcours this is only my opinion. feel free to argue xander

I used all my sensors from a 86 pontiac fiero v6. Mainly because that was what I had laying around. But it worked out pretty nice. I even used the TB of a fiero. It has the right TPS. For the water temp I unbolted the waterpipe that went to my throttlebodies (carb setup) and screw the temp sensor in there. You will need an adapter because the thread sizes are different. But the adapter is on a fiero block aswel! And there probably isn't a junkyard that doesn't have a couple of fiero's. The air temp sensor on a stock datsun (bosch system) is located inside the AFM. xander

Often when I hear realy great pieces of music it takes a while to get used to. Not with this piece. It immediately hit the right nerve. truly amazing. It reminds me of music by philip Glass. He wrote a lot of music, some good some realy good. (OK some of his earlier stuf is pretty annoying). But this piece has the same mood as the music from the truman show film. If you like this you might like Glass too. xander

you might weant to checkout this thread. http://www.hybridz.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=25613&highlight=roaddyno Xander

The problem with the NB sensor is that you cannot see the difference between say 14.0 to 12.0 very well. They are both on the rich side of stoichiometeric. But for your turbo 14.0 is probably not rich enough. It is very difficult to measure stoichiometric with a NB sensor (almost impossible). It can only measure rich or lean. Modern ECU's sort of average the lean/rich time to determine stoichiometric. So in answer to your question. Yes a NB-sensor can measure wether you are running richer or leaner than stoichiometric, BUT (this is important) It cannot tell you if you are rich enough. In other words I would not rely on a narowband sensor for my turbo in it's power band. I hope this all makes sense since English is not my native tongue. I't is a close second though. I read a lot of english books but writing is a whole different story, Xander

My mistake, When I opened this thread I thought you meant the rock band Xander

don't forget that nissan made another 4x4 performance car: Nissan sunny /pulsar GTi-R This car weights only 110 kg more that it's 2 wheel drive partner. so that is 110 kg for 4x4 and turbo and IC. the wheel base is 243 cm compared to 230.5 for the 260Z. This would make almost a drop in design. (yea right ) this is the car I'm talking about:

I got mine from this place: http://www.microsmith.co.uk/perf.htm I really don't know anything about there service apart from the shipping which was fast. I got it from this place because they are based in the UK. This means I don't have to pay import taxes on it. (european union). You should also keep in mind that the Gtech produces results on the spot while the road dyno needs to be hooked up to a computer and the data downloaded and stuff. A laptop would work ofcours but thats expensive.

I have uploaded a picture of a dyno graph in my personal album. This will also show you which specs you need to fill in. Xander

I have a roaddyno and I must say that it is fun. You can get reasonable repeatability with it and you can use it for checking horspower gains after you changed something. I have my doubts about its accuracy though. It all depents on how accurate you can input the variables. Stuff like gear ratio and tire size is no problem but how much does your car weigh exactly. That is with you in it, gas, tools, junk, stereo, etc... It does make nice graphs. I did my alfa romeo 164 2 litre twinspark engine and compared the graph with a proffesional dyno. They looked 99% similar. This alone would make it worth the money in my opinion. Xander

this is fun I was working on a pontiac fiero. It was up in the air on a bridge and I was trying to mount the exhaust hangers (springs). I was pulling on one with a big vice grip when it slipped. Slammed myself right in the nose. At that moment you dont know if you want to cry or just laugh. And I was trying to pry in a window rubber seal with a small screwdriver when it slipped. I stuck it right in my nose. ough... I still have the scar to prove it. My girlfriend was standing next to me and saw the whole thing. She said I was lucky because I could have gotten it in my eye. Well at that moment I didn't feel very lucky. then I had to go to the hospital to and explain what I did. they where very nice about it and gave me a nice bleu bandaid with elefants pictured on it. nice. I could go on but lets hear someone else Xander

I welded in two extra 3/8 NPT pickups into the side of the original tank. Below the original lines. This increased the size and also you don't get all the gunk from the bottom of the tank into your lines. I'll try to take a picture tomorow.

david, The Ring scared me too and I am 28 years old. I think the steven king movies were pretty lame. They just didn't scare me. Just like a lot of other movies in this genre they are just to stupid. but then The Ring came out. I watched it in the theater together with my girlfriend and man did we have a hard time falling asleep that night. This made me take a different view on the king movies (like IT). There are advantages in not being able to sleep. You can sort of lay awake and do other things with your girlfriend go see The Ring Xander

I have built a megasquirt and am running it now in my 260Z. I did not use nylon screw because you probably don't need them anyway. The injector drivers I got where isolated and the map sensor is also not conductive. I have a small jar where I put in all the stuff left over from some home PC's I dismantled. this gave me plenty of parts to build my megasquirt and then some. Xander

looking at your fuel rail I spotted that you are not using barbed fuel injectors. Was it hard to drill the holes for the o-ring type injectors. because I am planing the same modification on my megasquirted 260Z.

I think I found a cheaper source: http://www.rossmachineracing.com/extrusion.html I'll have to ask them if they will ship to europe though.

Then I guess I am the only one right now running on a MS unit. I am using a manifold of a 280Z on my L26. MSD pump, FPR of a alfa romeo 156 TS, Injectors of a pontiac fiero, TB of a fiero also. It runs great. The tuning was not very hard. The only problem I have right now is the pickup and returnline in the fuel tank are not that good. I plan on having new ones welded in this week. Beats carbs thats for sure. Xander

I was waiting for something to scare me too. If you look at the picture like that it is actualy a rather scary picture. hihi, good one Xander

What if you turn up the heater. I just read someone explaining that a hot car has less friction. But then again I also read above that a hot car is bigger thus more drag. hmm.... even so in the winter if you want to up your cars eficiency just turn up the heater. This will instantly raise the efficienty of your engine. efficiency = usefull energy/total energy*100
