I saw an s30 the other day dicking around on google images with halibrand knock offs on it.Does anyone have these wheels on their Zs?True knock offs like this cobra....I think that would look so good on a S30 prepared right with the rcorrect flares.Seems like a true knock off hub would be Really spendy!

For those who installed Zed floor pans
tightywhitey185 replied to madkaw's topic in Body Kits & Paint
I bought from zedd findings and had great results. The quality if the pans seemed great.Even had a cute little brushed finish on them and lubed with some wd40!When i put mine in i had to repair some rust issues well into the firewall and under the batt trey so i had to do a good bit more fab work ie i had to make fire wall sections and kick panel sections.I hat to get a little rough with them in the front and back sections.I tacked them in after making sure theyn were level and streight then i would tack the back section and fron section. That is where i had to get a little nasty with them by beating the snot out of them....tack an d repeat to get the desired fit.And you absolutely need 3m weld thru prime for the rails.I also hat to cut slits in the sides where they met the tranny tunnel to hammer it to fit to weld.I would agree for the most part how they fit into the rocker side.......its a little weird in there.its like they fit a little deeper in there.Finish with POR15.It was a butt load of work. For me anyway but i think you are doing just fine! -

What does your girlfriend/wife think of YOUR project??
tightywhitey185 replied to Slopoke's topic in Non Tech Board
I always find the ones where they dont mind my projects but they just dont really care about it eather.Im convinced that my obsession with this car is something all my own and just isnt very womanish. When i have relationships with certain girls its like im living 2 lives. The relationship, going out with our friends, going out to dinner all the time playing house situations and balancing my career and my wicked obsession with cars.I have never truley met someone who ive shared this completely with.I feel like women will never understand why projects are so cool and valuable learning experiances.I not bitter. haha -
Paintless dent repair before and after.
tightywhitey185 replied to tightywhitey185's topic in Body Kits & Paint
Do you have photos of the roof?Sometimes large shallows can be easily repaird and sometimes not.I did a roof on a toyota minivan a few weeks back that looked like a child used it as a trampoline. It didnt really turn out great but it was a huge improvement. The roofs on our Zs are very wide open underneath and accessable with tools.Just out up a photo and i could tell you if it was doable for sure. -

This is what happens when you have large suvs with radiators n their quarters for 3rd row heating. You cant get tool access thru the tail light section so you have to glue pull. -

This car took a few days.It actually didnt total. The body sop had to repair some parts like the pillars and glass was replaced. Was tough but doable. -

GEEEZ sorry for the pics being huge.BTW that dent took me 2 and a half hours to repair and paid 500 dollars.A large amound quicker and cheaper then regular body shop repair. -
Every once in a great while ill read across someone talking about paintless dent repair and it seems that most people are uncertain about what a good dent tech can and cant repair.I work as a full time PDR tech out of columbus ohio and i thought i would share some photos with you.My backround is mostly body work and my real talent is paint but i really wanted to move my career towards PDR for multiple reasons. This is a hood on a 2009 Ford Escape. The customer was very concerned with this dent and under no circumstances did they want conventional body repair.

tightywhitey185 replied to JSM's topic in Brakes, Wheels, Suspension and Chassis
Now you guys have really got me thinking.I just finished the paint and it seems crazy to cut such fresh paint.I probably will end up with the flairs but i just wanted you guys to see this video becuase i think this guy has one of the nicest looking z to wheel package without flares Check it out.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6EKuXCTq4Hc&feature=related -

tightywhitey185 replied to beebeecivic's topic in Miscellaneous Tech
I called them directly.I had it in my hand in days. -
I should probably be more specific. Are there any other alternatives for the rear hatch and trunk area weatherstrip options?Anyone tried anything? The hot ticket for the doors seems to be kia sportage stripping.what about the rear hatch?
-
Anyone come up wth alternatives for the rear hatch seals on the S30?

Some more crap here.....im a lil shy to show this photo but this is just how it was.I had to do a crap load of fill work on the left rocker and i pulled it out of the garage and it just look concave as hell!I was pissed so i took my big grinder and wailed that rocker down to bare steel to so if there were holes filled with mud but was glad to see it was all steel. It just looked like someone just beat the hell out of it with a sledge hammer! So instead of just filling it with mud like duraglass or something stupid i used a product by USC called all metal. Its actually metal filler.cheese grated it off with 36 grit and skimmed with paranha and mad it straight!! -

Well after 320 i sprayed a coat of sealer over it.If you look in oneof the photos you will see a shiny coat of grey. That will cover those 320 scratches just fine then sprayed on some color!basically sealer is primer that has been reduced and is sprayed right befor color to cover small sand scratches and sand throughs that are bare metal.
