I need weather stripping like 2 years ago when it started to rain not only in my lap, but also down the back of my neck. ****Note to anyone else who thinks that maybe a little clear silicone will patch up the leaks in the weatherstripping...................It Doesn't Work.

I just read through this entire thread, and all I have to say is holy horsepower batman. No but seriously, this is amazing, where did you learn how to do stuff like this, I would kill for even a tenth of the knowledge you must have regarding engines in order to do something like this. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the S130 has a bolt on catalyst(at least mine does). A viable option is to bolt on for smog check, then bolt off and replace it with test pipe until you smog again in 2 years. Studies show however that removing the catalyst will only give you a gain of 2 to 5 horses. So you could always leave the cat in, remove 10 pounds somewhere, and you just got your horsies back. Funny part of all of this is, I just moved from Cali to N. Dakota, and got away from smog laws......Muah hah hah hahhhhh

This is probably a stupid question, and I did run a search with no apparent answer, but will the t5 fit in my 79 280zx. The only reason that I want to do this is for the short shifter option. Any information that anyone can give me would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Chuck

I know of 2 shops in that area that I'm gonna try to find the info for, are you looking for engine or body work, all I know is specialists(is that spelled right?) Tolentino's Auto Repair 539 E Chestnut Ave Tulare, CA 93274 Map (559) 688-0452 This is a pretty good mechanic and if you talk to him(Rodrigo, spanish only) or his son(David, bilingual), and tell them that Charles the guy with the red datsun 280zx referred you, he will more than likely give you half off on labor. That's what he did for me, I was referred by someone else. I just moved away from Visalia and I used him for all my auto work for about 3 years. I can't remember the name of the body guy that I knew but I'll call a friend and find out. He's not cheap, but oh god does he do nice work.

Ok, I'm sure I'll get a few comments to the effect of,"use the search feature", so for the record, I did, and either I am an idiot(probably) or it's not there(not likely). I am trying to find a short shifter that I can use with my 79 280zx, it is all stock and although I'm not sure what tranny I have(5 speed) I have read here and there that I can use a shifter from a ford. If anybody can clear this up for me, preferably sans wise:ass: remarks, I would greatly appreciate it. thanks, Chuck

Thanks everyone, that was a bit of a reality check. I know that there's always someone out there who's worse off than I am, it's just hard to keep that perspective sometimes. Hey everyone I just need a place to vent some frustrations. I just moved to N.Dakota, got my own place, started a new job, and now have no car. My Z's harmonic balancer went out a week before I moved and earlier today the transmission in my family car(1999 Chrysler T&C) took a crap. Back in Cali I could have called my mechanic and had it fixed tomorrow, here, nothing opens on Sunday except Walmart and resturants. Not that either of them would do me any good without a running vehicle. I would dearly love to blame all these problems on this stupid state but I really had nothing going for me in Cali so that's a moot point. I am just at a loss for what to do. Flat broke, no car, frikkin cold weather, and no idea how I'm gonna get to work on Monday. I know that this probably doesn't matter to anyone, especially since no one knows me here, but I just needed to get this off my chest. See ya, Chuck
