  1. Get the gold plated terminals if you're gonna do a lot of ICE. Not only do they look pretty, but gold is a better conductor of electricity. Oh, and make you're own cables, it's easy, cheaper than buying premade, and you can have whatever color you want. On top of that, you can make 2 guage cables.
  2. That site is great, I'm gonna get the pilot wrench for my wife.
  3. I will tentatively say it could be a failed MAF that is causing your car to die when it gets hot.
  4. In my experience, and I have installed stereo systems in a LOT of cars, everytime you use an amp, it MUST be hooked up directly to the battery. Even though it is a small amp, it will still draw too much. However, you do not need to use it, your stereo is a 200 watt (50x4) preamp and will more than adequately power the speakers that you have. If you are worried about how to run the wire for the amp from the battery, look for a rubber nipple on your firewall with shrouded wires coming from it, carefully cut a 1/2 inch slit in it, push a 4 or 6 guage power wire through it and it will come in under your dash. Unless you plan on doing a lot more with your ICE, just leave the amp off for now, it'll save you a lot of headaches from trying to tune it to sound good. Pioneer makes very decent quality head units and the internal EQs are good enough. If this helps you at all, I'm happy. If not, feel free to disregard everything I just said. Chuck
  5. If it works....works well.....and you feel like makin another set, I would be interested in buying them from you.
  6. Hit it with a hammer, fixes everything
  7. Wow, I know that mine is off. My speedo said 70 and the Highway Patrol said 98. That was a biatch of a ticket.
  8. Oh good point, I stand corrected. I just brutally remembered the $200 problem cause it cost me money I didn't have at the time.
  9. If you can, post some more pics, I may be interested
  10. Holy Dollar Batman, $300, post some pics of the finished, if it's nice I'll ship my dash out to get it done.
  11. I had the same thing a couple years ago with my 79. Two words, master cylinder. Mine failed on the highway doin 70, I had to stop on the clutch, not fun at all. Of course, that may not be your problem, what do I know, but it would be a good idea to check it out.
  12. I am also curious about what you did with the interior, and what problems you encountered.
  13. I can't answer your question, but I love how clean your engine bay is....very nice
  14. If only my life could've been just like that fairy tale........
  15. 1979 Chevy Camaro Berlinetta SS(grandpa thought it would be fun to race out a chick car, hella fast fun). 30 over 350, edelbrock headers and 4 barrel carb, edelbrock intake with K&N filter, electric fan and water pump, race tuned automatic trans, turned 130mph at 3/4 throttle, wish I hadn't blown it up, against a honda of all things.
  16. That has got to be the coolest gift I have ever seen anyone get. Your dad rocks
  17. I am so jealous, that would fit just perfect in my car...isn't this the season of giving?????
  18. I just moved the back of the seat back and forth until I saw light through and stuck a bolt there, it fixed the seat and I didn't worry about it any more
  19. Funny thing about my sig though, when I was a kid and I lived with my grandpa, I came inside bored as heck one day and when I told him that there were no kids my age to play with, that's what he told me. He sure was a grumpy old fart but he was always there for me and singlehandedly gave me my love for the automobile. For the record, if I ever say anything offensive or rude, please let me know, I have no problem refraining from saying something in order to promote the brotherhood that drew me to this site in the first place.
  20. Can't turn up heat, gas goes down, utilities do not, firewood does not, brain freeze, brain freeze. However I guess I said too much, but at least it's star wars based, god forbid that it was star trek.....No no no, forget I said that. This thread wasn't to p*ss off the admins, just a little fun.
  21. Traitor, spy, scoundrel, an admin who in not labeled, running around under the guise of a member, a wolf in sheeps clothing......aaaaaaahhhhhhh run for the hills. Not only that, but an admin from another site here to spy on our methods and report back about our efficiency and camaderie. Oh what has my peaceful little reality come to, why the madness, the insanity............
  22. How did you come by such wisdom pick?? I did mention something like that in my original post, however I think that the other explainations are a lot more fun. You have dashed my hopes that one day I could rise to power like a tyrant and rule over all the junior members as an almighty ADMIN. Ha Ha this is getting fun, Chuck
  23. I am merely questioning the powers that be to see if there is a method to their madness or if it is just madness. My vote leans towards the latter of the 2. I would never truly suspect that our truly magnanimous admins would pilfer money from the coffer to indulge in fine cigars and even finer booze, I'm just saying that it's plausible. As for ending up like you, there's nothing wrong with being named after a sloth, or being horney for Z's. However, in order to learn the answers you must first know the question. Confucious say, "Man who jerk off with super glue feel cocky all day." or something like that.
