  1. they did a great job, but it just doesn't seem finished. and what a blind spot
  2. Praise be to the almighty Admins, who looked down from their seat in the heavens, and saw fit to bless this lowly Z fanatic. Thanks Braap. (your name sounds a lot like my exhaust note) Chuck
  3. So now that I am a HBZ supporter, can I get a really cool guy title. I think that it's hard to be taken seriously with Hand Solo as my title. Heck, I would even be happy with HybridZ Supporter like everyone else. I am at the mercy of the all powerful Admins here and am hoping that they look down from their seats in the heavens and feel the urge to bless me.
  4. That widebody is sounding real nice right now, of course I will probably just end up going with the fender flares and keep it stock-ish. All depends on how the finances run.
  5. 280ZForce, is there anything Z related that you don't have??? It seems that anytime someone wants something, it gets referred to you....... On that subject, how about some S130 styling mods. Not the most popular car, but I'm 6'3" and I fit in it, oh, and my wife doesn't like me driving it. 2 reasons to make it better. Do you have an online store by any chance?? Chuck
  6. ICM= ignition control module I'm gonna drive down to bismark to check it out this weekend, if it's in good enough shape then I'll probably pick it up. Not sure how I'll get it back to Minot, but I'm sure that I can figure something out. I'm still trying to convince the wife that it'll be worth the money but she's a born again skeptic when it comes to me spending money. Chuck
  7. You should email him and let him know that he is sorely mistaken. And that the car is only worth about $500 so that I can buy it......
  8. Ok, I have the opportunity to buy an '82 280ZX for cheap. I have my '79 and figured that I would just use the newer one for a couple parts that I need. It does have some rust but if anyone else needs parts and is willing to commit at least in word, I will gladly pick it up and start tearing it down. The guy who owns it said the dash has only 1 crack(over the glove compartment) and it has the "snowflake?" wheels. If anyone is in the least bit interested let me know. Oh yeah the car runs, for the most part, he said the ICM went out. Chuck
  9. On a slightly related topic, what about removing the plastic fender liners??? Will that negatively impact anything??
  10. I researched this last summer when I was replacing my fuel lines, the stuff on the floor is for carb'd cars and can't handle the pressure of and injection system. There's quite a bit of price difference too.
  11. Cause I'm thinkin of more of a permanent operation. I already know of a commercially zoned warehouse that I could rent cheap, and there are a lot of farmers up here who desperately need a rust solution. Could end up going into business for myself...... No more workin for someone else would be awesome.
  12. It may sound like a lot of phooey, but get Shark Cartiledge. I know that Vitamine Shoppe carries it. I broke my neck when I was 16, was told I would never walk again(I run) and started having allergic reactions to the pain meds. My crackpot mother who I hadn't talked to in 7 years showed up at my foster home and gave me a bottle. It didn't work right away, but a few weeks later I started feeling a lot better, able to move easier. I stand by it. About your neice, relax, in allowing her to stay with you and providing a stable environment, you have literally given her a whole new start to life. and on that note, thats all I got. Chuck
  13. Let's see, I'm 26, and I bought my 79 280ZX 2 years ago. Growing up, my grandfather had 2 Z's, don't remember the years. My uncle had 3, a 240, a 280, and an 81 280ZX. My cousin had a 260. Some of my favorite memories were us tearing around Hesperia, Victorville, and Phelan(where I lived with my Grandpa) in those cars. My grandfather sold all of his cars(27) before he moved to Arkansas and when he passed in 2006 I knew that I needed something to remember him by. He was a grumpy old fart, but whenever we went out driving, he was the happiest man in the world. So I bought mine for $800, not running, and have had to put the rebuild on hold to take care of my kids. But it still sits there waiting for me to put some more money into it.....
  14. I'm game for givin it a shot, called a fiberglass shop that specializes in big tanks, I would be lookin at spendin a lot on these tanks by themselves.
  15. No that wasn't a stab. I was just sayin that a lot of those mags cater strictly to the ricer crowd. I wouldn't mind havin an S2000 but the civic I bought was a piece of dung. Had it for like 2 months and traded it in.
  16. You didn't hurt the garage did you??
  17. Oh no, my bedroom is a shop. Tools under bed Dewalt kit in closet Mostly naked chick calender next to door. 2007 Nissan 350Z NISMO edition poster over bed Oh god it really is a shop.
  18. Rustoleum Rust to Primer Spray. Works wonders on surface/flash rust and prevents more rust from happening till a permanent fix is do-able.
  19. Hey I remember that S2000, I used to get all the ricer mags, even owned a civic at one point. Come to think of it, I probably still have that issue.
  20. Tell your buddy that if he wants to get rid of that paint I'll take it. I'm picturing a lambo pearl metalic flue green engine bay....... Funky Fresh all the way.
  21. I don't actually have any experience with this, but IMO it would be a good idea to get rid of the rust and old undercoating before you spray on the new stuff. I believe the reason that rust is called cancer in the automotive world is because once you have it, it gets worse until you cut it out and actually fix it. If it's just light surface rust, take some sandpaper to it and get the rustoleum rust 2 primer spray. That stuff worked really well for me. Chuck
