Where can you get the adjustable TC rods? -

I have very similar goals for my turbo car. I would like to get as much power as I can, sure, but it's more important to me to have a fast spool-up and a very responsive throttle. I am still not clear on what criteria to use for intercooler selection. I have tried to find some topics in this forum that cover it, but I failed. Could anyone give me some reading recommendations? I'd like to know how to determine whether or not the intercooler is too big for an application (assuming other factors are constant.) Are there drawbacks to a large intercooler as long as it is at least as efficient as a smaller option? Also, any opinions on these? (CustomLock just picked one up.) http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=33742&item=2442368353#ShippingPayment -
You could get snap-in breakers that replace bullet fuses. https://www.delcity.net/tstore/servlet/pagebuilder?frame=catalog_browse&parentid=167863&page=1 They won't fit under the fusecase, but they will all fit without hitting each other.

I just pulled out my rear deck and I have to make a decision about all this as well. My speakers used to be mounted in the deck over the storage compartments as well. I think they'd probably sound better in enclosures, but also, having the speakers there limits rear deck redesign options. And you can't take them out of the car for autox. And you have to have the rear deck in the car. It was kind of a pain. MSA's design looks great, but 150$? Not for me. I wouldnt' feel right spending 150$ on the sound system when I have so many things to buy to make the car perform better. However, if someone builds them, please take some pics and measurements, because I'd be interested to see what it took. I think I'm just going to look for some cheap 6x9 enclosures.

That's a good video. However, as far as never seeing it again, I don't know about that. I think he may have been topped. Check out Getaway In Stockholm 1-4 and Ghost Rider - The Final Ride. Here is a review and trailers of Ghost Rider. http://www.autoxcam.com/ghostriderreview.htm Here is the official site of GIS with trailers: http://www.getawayinstockholm.com/

It sounds like you need Megasquirt. (Must stop talking smack until MS is successfully installed, must stop talking smack until MS is successfully installed, must stop talking smack until MS is successfully installed)

No bikes for me, and not because of your example. I am worried about all the accidents you have no control over because of the other people on the road. There is a guy on a local forum who just got hit by a drunk driver (who fled the scene) and had to have his leg amputated. This guy was a very safe and responsible rider. Now he is missing a leg. I would even wear a helmet in my car if it wasn't sure to get me pulled over immediately. I've been told that that's "silly." Well, that's fine, more air for me.

Does he read a lot of OverRev?

Thanks for the pics. I am just a few days away from this step (waiting for injector connectors to use on a new harness.)

When you meet him in person, bring a scale. And then say "I wish you weren't a liar." And if he protests just cut him off and say "Hey, I just wish you weren't such a liar."

I've seen this posted several times. I wonder if any have ever sold...I assume not considering the incredibly fake pictures.

The guy who started this thread sold his car in boxes and put the 360 in his Barracuda. So, not by him, unfortunately.

That's 1000$ for the unit. Count on 1500-1700 before the day is over. And worth every penny.

Your husband must be the luckiest guy I've never met. What are you going to be building it for? Get it out of the weeds asap! I hope you don't have too many problems with rust. Nice to meet you and good luck.

I have a question for you guys haggling the prices down - is that after the IZCC/Z club discount? As for my personal experiences - most of them have been good, and the shipping costs are excellent. When I bought my airdam, MSA charged me approx 30$ to ship it. I got quotes from 6 other places that had cheaper prices. The shipping they quoted was between 80 and 125$ (!!!) dollars. It is not easy to run a speciality shop like that - so if you guys think you can do better - please do! Competition will only improve the situation, but I think it's a little harder to be successful in their market than (some of) you seem to think.

Megasquirt has bootstrap code to reprogram the chip over the serial port. You don't need a Wilmette programmer unless you screw it up. Also, you can change variables on the fly and they will be saved permenantly on the next restart (or you can change them for temporary testing and they won't be saved.) Megasquirt is the best thing ever. Now I just have to build my harness and hook it up and stop talking smack about it before it's even running on my car.

David, I haven't ever seen them available in 225 wide, though, in a R16 size. Are they? How is el Presidento, btw?
-
Good point. I was just wondering how close that would be cutting it, not necessarily worried about rubbing. Thanks for the info! I guess those are not really reasonable for me since this is still primarily a street car. While I've got your ear, though, what size sway bars are you running, what spring rates are you using, and what do you have your camber at? (I realize this won't apply to my 700lb heavier car, I'm just curious.)

I was thinking about the gear ratio being shorter when I started looking for lower profile tires in 225 wide as well. Unfortunately I don't see anything lower than 225/50. I can't go lower than 16 because I'm shooting for the 13" rotors in the front. Otherwise, believe me, I would. I might be able to get a set of 16x8 rims to use after the coilovers are in, but I'm not sure that going wider than 225 would really get me any better track times. I already have short steering knuckles and without power steering I'm not sure at what point turning the steering wheel is going to be an issue. Loudness is not a problem for the track, but I'm all for the cost savings if the v700's are on approximately the same level. Another (novice) question I have - what are the benefits of buying pre-heat cycled tires? Does that reduce the life? Edit: John I just noticed you are using 16x10's with slicks. What rims and sizes are you using, and what is the offset? Do you have any rubbing issues when the wheel is close to being turned as far as it will go?

I have one of those - and the best thing about it is that it opens and starts any Z car, not just mine!

Hey guys - thinking about getting some tires for autocross only. I was thinking about getting a lower profile (currently running 225/50/16) tire that would be stiffer and lower the car a little more (only on the track.) Just wanted to see what other people here in SM2 (or even BSP or E Mod) are running. Let me know. I was thinking about trying the new V700's or the Yokohama 032R's. Anyone using those?
-
I can't argue with that!
-
I think there might be an additional problem of expense as well. That wouldn't be cheap. And I consider a 2000$ paint job cheap.

Just because it happens all the time doesn't make it right. Please be specific in assaulting Microsoft since they get bashed all the time for doing nothing except trying to make and sell their product. People think it is evil to try and make a profit - well, what else are you working for? To break even? As far as the government "protecting" us from a monopoly, that is not possible, since they are the only ones that, through force, have the ability to create a monopoly. No one is forcing any of you to buy cars from these manufacturers. If you disagree with their practices and find it hard to get work done, why would you spend your money there? They will not behave in a way that loses them business and money, as long as they are allowed to make it. A law like this implies they aren't. http://www.adamsmith.org/policy/publications/recommended-1.htm Notice both the books I mentioned are in a whole lot of those reading lists. I'm not seeing where you think their ideas are contrary to Ayn Rand's writing. I will not read anything "instead" of Ayn Rand, but I'm always looking for more writers who promote freedom instead of the slavery that our public education system is brainwashing our country with. So thanks for the recommendation. Warren, I have read their take on the situation, but I'm sorry. My basic question remains - where does this right they think they have to force companies to sell their tools or information at a dictated price derive from? I'm not seeing anything (and rationally there isn't anything) to make that argument.
