  1. The cheat is not dead....the cheat is not dead!
  2. Optima batteries for our cars are under 120$ at autozone.
  3. Did you use the 100ohm .5watt resistor for R9 on the stim? If so, did you use a 9volt battery?
  4. Some of us from the Louisiana chapter of the ZCCA will be making the run over there in the early morning. Anyone from Hybrid Z going?
  5. The funniest part is that if you try to check out the "live coverage" on abcnews it just shows a black screen. Oh man.
  6. I keep reading all these posts about burning the bushings out, and not for the first time on this thread or even this forum. Are you guys serious? I hope not - you can easily heat up the rubber enough to pull the inner sleeve out with a pair of vice grips by using a torch on the outside of the housing. It took us about 3 minutes, and there was no mess or stink. Maybe I've misunderstood and this is what is being recommended?
  7. Where did you get your numbers? Are you talking about stock? Which year 280zx, because they didn't weigh the same thing every year. These numbers don't agree with you - taken from http://zhome.com/History/zcarperf.html BTW, if your research was from the flyer that I've seen posted all over the place, it has some incorrect numbers on it. I know they're incorrect because the correct ones are stamped into a plate on my engine bay. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- 0-60 1/4 mile Lat Braking Top Peak Peak Curb Source Datsun 280Z (sec.) 8. Hey, I am building my MS, right now, and I've done everything except the output circuit. I have been reading through the MSS stuff, and will definitely be up for trying it out when I have my turbo motor built. Until then my plans were to run MS on my NA L28 engine. Looking forward to your updates, are you going to use MSD?
  9. I've been playing for 10 years and own 4 Jacksons, (one is a USA made soloist), a gibson, and a classical. There are a ton of really good websites out there, but I don't frequent them very often because I've already gone over most of the theory they cover...google is all you need. The most important thing is lots of practice, and practice with a metronome. Figuring out songs you like, or finding tab for them, and creating exercises from the parts that are too difficult is a very effective way to get better because it gives you a clear progression with music that you are familiar with and is less likely to get boring. Here is the band I'm playing with if you're interested in hearing it: http://www.mp3.com/ceaserin
  10. That HAS to be a joke. I love the pictures, though.
  11. Have you checked your fuel pressure? With the engine off, pump running, at idle, and while revving?

  13. I'm very sorry to hear that you are moving away discussing Z's with L6's. I have always considered any Z with an engine swap a hybrid Z, whether or not it has a V8 in it or not. Brake swaps, suspension pieces swapped, etc - I was thrilled to find a site devoted to these things. I'm not sure how cutting out some of your forums is going to reduce the amount of idiots online - you're just going to get more incorrectly placed posts. But it seems like it IS guaranteed to get rid of some of your good posters. I hope this doesn't happen. -Forrest
  14. http://www.mjmturbos.com/Graveyards.htm Hope it's not a repost, couldn't find it.
  15. I thought Arnold was fiscally conservative...no? Everything I've heard him say has led me to believe that.
  16. He can't, he lives in Kalifornia. Sorry to hear that man, keep us updated.
  17. Jesus. I had no idea a regular envelope would go through so much trama. I guess I should have reinforced the entire thing with tape. Sorry, guys.
  18. Are you serious? I put 7 screws and 7 nuts in there, and put a big piece of clear tape on the back. Someone opened it? If so you should complain to your postmaster, that's a felony.
  19. I had the same problem with the tach bouncing around (not in time with rpm) right after revving to 4k, and then the car dying. It was caused by having too much play in the distributor shaft. After replacing the distributor, the problem was solved.
  20. Is there any rule of thumb about what rate springs should be used with what size swaybar, and vice versa?
  21. While these are still street tires, I am looking forward to a big difference. Currently I have 185/60/14 stock honda tires on alloy rims. Hey, they were almost free, what can I say. Of course, now that I am back to stock height, the car will be 2 inches higher off the ground and the wheels will be harder to turn. So I'm technically raising the car and making it slower.
