  1. Grind the old powdercoat off and they weld great. Evan
  2. With the crossover intake manifold? I don't think I have. Evan
  3. Gabe your such a copycat! Looks good dude.
  4. Thanks for the tip on the stepper motor, I suspect mine got wet somehow on my greddy and did it in. Thank you for the links, it is greatly appreciated. The instructions are vauge when it comes to leaving the fuzzy logic out of the game. I do this through manually tweaking the offset no? Evan
  5. Well, after some more street tuning tonight I have come to the conclusion that my MBC isn't doing it. I can't get high enough! Instead of reinventing the wheel, I am going to use this HKS EVC4 I have had lying around for awhile. Anyone had any experience with this unit? I know its somewhat complex but a buddy is basically giving it to me. I would rather have a profec B lol. Evan
  6. My motor is 9:1 and the only thing holding me back from doing another tune on E85 is not wanting to do yet ANOTHER injector upgrade! I figure I could have a 93 tune, half 93 half E85 tune and full E85 tune. Evan
  7. Phil, if you get the itch again maybe a dedicated track bike is where its at? Evan
  8. Realistically, you will need to go to a good quality spearco etc.. if you want real improvements. I don't think a large chinese core would be any better than what you have. Besides temperature drop, there is pressure drop. If memory serves, there is quite a bit of pressure drop across that I/C. Evan
  9. Awesome buddy! No bird crap shots? come on man! lol
  10. My cousin had a CR80. First bike I had ridden with a power band. Damn near put me on my back! That thing MOVED. I expected a total slouch after riding my enduro 125. Evan
  11. Sound deadener is not really intended to remove major drone from an exhaust. It is possible to reduce it a bit though. If your car is that loud, its unlikely that you will see any benefit really.. I found less interior noise cruising on the highway and my car holds hot/cold in and out better as well (insulation). I am planning on using thermal dynamat on my firewall, I get a TON of heat coming in through there. Evan
  12. Aziza, look at it this way; The time is not right today, maybe not tomorrow. BUT maybe by the time your ready to snap up a high end car, something more fun and more badass will cross your path. Mike, I have to say I agree. I wouldn't trade my S14 for a z. Evan
  13. Wow, Greg Kring... I haven't heard or seen anything of you for a long time. Thanks for being one of my inspirations back in the day. Ill do as you guys suggest. Thank you for the input. My real concern was alternator damage but it doesn't seem likely to be an issue done this way. Evan
  14. Sucks, but there is no way I would run that thing on my car! Its too critical a part. Evan
  15. I guess with the infrequency of the switch being used, its unlikely to cause damage. Thanks John, I appreciate the good information. Evan
  16. ^ wow! Cool thread idea, I am interested to see the information.
  17. This question pertains to stopping the engine from running on its own with an alternator. Unless I am reading an incomplete rule, it does not specify if/how you are to kill power from the alternator. Shutting down the engine kills alternator output no? I fully understand that what I am talking about is used along side a master shut off switch! Thanks guys - Evan BTW, John. I have not been teched in before and didn't know if they would demand to see me shut the car off with the master in the rear. If they generally don't then no sweat!
  18. Thanks John, I knew that the motor would run for a short period after cutting juice to the fuel pump but it would die instantly when the ECU power was cut. I guess its not that big of a deal to wire up a relay to kill the alternator too, I was just concerned about damage to the alternator itself. Evan
  19. I have read the specific instructions several times and have only one question. In order to make the engine stop running is there any reason I cannot tie relays into the fuel pump and ecu (2 different relays) to halt the engine vs. cutting alternator output? Of course, I understand I need a master on the +12v line. Eva n
  20. So those temps are in Fahrenheit? Evan
  21. I have the same turbo in a 60, and it creeped BAD using the internal WG hole. Open that badboy up as much as you can!! Evan
  22. I totally stated that incorrectly, I meant locating the maf further from the air filter. In any event, sounds like its fine where it is in my car. Thanks guys, good read here. Evan
