  1. oh god please pics LOL.. did you block that large opening on top or leave it? jeez... just describe the whole processs step by step LOL.. seriously though.. pics would be awesome.. Did you perchance port the intake to match?? and what gasket did you use. i bought some gasket material at Autozone and made my own but would like a thicker version.
  2. heres a cell phone pic of my weber 60 TB. Large outlet on top is one of the ones i have no idea what it is for. also my Tb has some kind of thermostat looking thing coming from the bottom with 2 wires coming off and going to a bundle next to the coil. am i going to be screwing up my cold start?? i thought all that was on the top of the Intake. anyone else have pics of theirs attached and running.
  3. probably one of the best versions since he went sober =) i give you god.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hw-YZuiRfjc i saw him live at the crystal in L.A. around 91 and Phil Collins showed up and took over drums during one of the sets and suprised him... but actually suprised me.. i had no idea Phil Collins could drum like that.
  4. looking good... im sure you've checked but damn you look close to your dizzy if your cap was on it.. or is that just the angle of the picture? good looking box though.
  5. shot this with my cell phone so sorry about the crappy quality... just set all the lash and was putting it up and remembered i had video on my phone. might have to copy and paste if the link doesnt work. just click play on the right. http://www.t-mobilepictures.com/PaulH1970/_entry/8a38a9d10da8b022010dcd8b4f441ad3/ps/ENTRY/EDITENTRY?foneblog=1159067961804
  6. i thought hair dryers that size were illegel in the lower 48 states LOL .. does the Navy know that one of the gas turbine destroyers are missing the turbine??? LOL jeez
  7. anyway you can flip that over =) i seem to have a bunch of inlets on the top of the TB that are not hooked up... it was just bare bones.. and flipping it over ?? im assuming its because you use a cable style setup instead of the linkage?? man didnt mean to thread jack this..and ill try to take some pics of mine..maybe someone can tell me what need to be blocked off or kept and this will help out the thread owner too =)
  8. yea..please keep us poor U.S. guys who cant get the show or latest news updated... luv that show.
  9. i just bought a intake with a weber 60 on it to go with my intake i had already ported a bit... anyone have pics of their weber mounted because this one was sitting in teh passenger seat and has no hook ups and seems to be missing stuff.. just a throttle body on a bare bones intake stripped of everything.
  10. I agree with the smoked comment... my brothers white z has them tinted along with a mild black out kit on his trim so it works but my blue z looked horrible with the tinted covers on it.
  11. Hmmm.. it has the 120 mph speedo... thats worth 200 bucks right there. =0)
  12. yea.. i saw that crown one before for sale. This one definatly had two SU's on it though. and the air filter for the inlet on the turbo was about where the SU is on that first picture for the Crown turbo but lower i think.. and the SU's seemed to be in the normal spots with the exception of the heat shield mounted...................geez i need to make a road trip and see if i can get some pictures. and prove im not going insane lol.
  13. sorry... nite shift throws me off schedule a bit.. This guy is in Montana for a moose hunt... yep i said moose lol. i guess the pack in on mules and camp for like 3 weeks so im not sure when im going to get a reply back from him... must be nice to be retired.
  14. yea no kidding.. would be kewl if it ran..after draining the fuel tank and pre lubing the cylinders, oil spinning the turbo ..etc etc etc. hmm didnt see any IC piping either now that im thinking of it... but still. thing looked like every bit of wiring was eaten by barn rats though... not that they dont have elec problems from sitting anyways lol
  15. Yea that pic of the blow through on the SBC is what ive mainly seen.. i couldnt see the set up near what i wanted to so im not sure what this was ...id did have the two SU's so im assuming it was blow through...they seemed to have some kind of "plenum" in front where the usually big orange air filter would sit for bothof them.. so im guessing it "blew" into this and through the carbs.. man now im thinking about driving back down there to see if he would let me take some pictures.
  16. The SU's were in the normal location.. i just couldnt see them very well especially the heat shield thingy.. now.. what the hell is blow-through?? lol all turbo carb's ive seen were on SBC and had a plenum over the carb im assuming for pressure reasons. oh and it was a mid 70's 280.
  17. OK boys and girls... i dont own a turbo nor have i owned one but i have to admit ive been reading up and would eventually like to get one. Now about 3 weeks ago i went down to SW Oklahoma for the start of Dove season and we met at some guys house who owned the land we were going to hunt on. Met in the barn to shoot the ♥♥♥♥, blah blah blah and back in the corner under a cover was a very distinctive shape.. Yep won 20 bucks on that one as it was a 280z. no one else came close..all thought it was a vette. anyways..i starting looking at it and realized it was pretty clean even with about 12 years of dirt on it under the car cover but had all kinds of crap on top of it including what looked like a pinball machine?? weird crap for a farmer but whatever.. i could only get the hood up about 6 inches or so and could see the SU's. but it had somekind of weird oval heat shield where the back SU was but at an angle toward the front headlight.. kinda like a cover for your roof vent.. anyways.. was weird. saw some more piping under it was was like wtf.. so i moved some lumber stacked under the car and there was an oval aircleaner sitting just above the steering rack.. i was really intrigued so i wedged myself under it and damnded if there wasnt a turbo sitting right there slung between and below the SU's with piping running everywhere. Now ive seen some carb'd turbos before but nothing with SU's. anyone else heard of this???? and should i go back and offer him some cash for it? Guy said it was his son's who left it back in the late 80s. just been sitting there ever since. oh and since it was dark and crap under it i couldnt get any cellphone pics to come out sorry.
  18. was up at the parentals and Dad had his and my brothers z's out and snapped a few with my cell phone so sorry about the image quality.. wish i had a better pic of his front end though. anyways.. here ya go. The Red one is my Dads.. 74 260z full flare kit and glassed in 3 peice tail and hood scoop. big trips and lumpy ass cam, full exhaust. White one is my brothers a 71 240z with little trips and small cam no exhaust. he did all the body work himself except of the painting.. i helped by running to the store for more beer...err i mean tuning fluid.
  19. Heres a pic of my Dads 74. sorry its a little dark
  20. i have a high mileage 79 280zx with the 3 speed auto.. anyone have a good recommendation for tranny fluid to help it along until i can switch it to a 5 speed manual?? thnx Paul
  21. i like the mesh look a lot.. the frame is a bit.. much. but that flat black really blends well with the color.. LOOKS GOOD!!
  22. well crap..time to choose another color... i had that axact color picked out because it was close to the original color but way nicer.. that way i wouldnt have to repaint my door and hatch jams jeez ... LOL looks great just like i knew it would... now MORE PICS =0)
  23. what vent is that ??? i have a ZX and always thought a vern in the fender would look awesome! more pics of the vent please =0)
  24. I think a semi-gloss black on the bumpers would be great.. the flat seems to distract from the rest of the car.. looks great though.. awesome work.
