  1. Found this when i was digging through some old photo's Before and after glassing. somewhere in Arizona on I-40 headed to San Diego in Mar 1991.. My dad was headed out for my Wedding and stopped to snap this pic. This was his first attempt with some newer style paint before he glassed in his fender flares, side skirts and tail.. It looks copper but its because the photo is faded and my scanner lightened it up even further... its Ford Med Red with a gold base... acrylic enamal with 3 coats and 1 coat of 50 50 mix of the red with clear.. no actual clear coat. anyways.. just thought you might like to see a good example of a 260. And now after fender flares, 3 peice tail, side skirts and hand made hood scoop. and for giggles and laughs... pic of me doing the bondo work on his first hood scoop for his 240 in 1987... Lord look at those glasses.
  2. I had read something about the cooling problems on the earlier inline sixes.. guess i need to keep a good look out for that... but have plenty of experience since in a early z car guy =0)
  3. How about a flipside to that... turbo Z motor should fit and with a nice rust free body for once

  5. wow.... no flying poop yet. =0) i have to admit from driving it the last week or so why everyone compares their car to the BMW... and boy do i want one of these smooth running sixes in my Z.. but im thinking that would be an electrical nightmare. but sure would be nice =) any good websites you guys might direct me to would be appreciated also =) ill try to get some more pics up of the interior.

  7. well not only have a sold my ZX to buy a bike... i know i know but it was a good deal.. i have completely fallen to the darkside.. yes i am now the proud owner of a........ BMW actually it turned out to be a damn good deal... now before i get strung up let me splain.... I needed a good low mileage daily driver and wanted to keep my budget around 5k... which pretty much put me in the market for chevy cavalier... ugh. my dad stepped in and said he would help if he had a slight say in waht i bought... so i thought all my sport car aspirations went right down the toilet.."my current daily driver is a unkown mileage (180kplus???) 1994 crown vic which my dad gave me.. which is actually a great highway car.. cops drive em for a reason.. butt ugly but great air conditioners.. we have been looking for about 4 -5 months when i noticed this beemer in the autotrader in Tulsa kept showing up for around 10500 ...we had been looking at just about everything with 4doors and largish for me to go to school and work in... but one afternoon he called and talked to the lady and really thought she was nice and honest about the car and my dad basically talked her down to 8500!!!!!!!!! So we went to look at it.... ok get this.. 1997 328Is coupe. aftermarket BMW wheels, leather winter package, auto with m/a mode and sport mode in 3 ( basically ups the shifts points for some fine spirited driving) absolutly garage kept.. oil changed religiously, records out the wazoo... dark green and ......drum role please... 62,300 miles... even with the slightly higher insurance and possible parts issue.. damn stuff is spendy i could not resist.. after driving it and my dad saying jeez thats a tight car..i had to get it. it has your normal highway scratches and dings but its in GREAT condition considering it age and for the miles and price, nothing and I mean NOTHING we have been looking at came close.... and heres a picture of my new money pit...sorry its cell phone pic. comments???? suggestions??? please keep the flying dog poo to a minimum =)

  13. 148MPH in my 77 between Salem and Portland on I-5... i know i know.... it was around 4am though and kind of a local thing to see who can get to the bridge at wilsonville the fastest.

The idle isnt running fast as those two articles seem to mention but the idea of airflow confusing the sensors might be the culprit since its rmp on the way down after you blip the throttle... its not realy harming anything just mostly annoying. a few people around the block like the car and love how it sounds at high RPMS but that weird hang up is starting to make me wonder if something else is about explode in my face. =0) Just for clarifacation.. when the car is in neutral or with the clutch in and parkingbrake set.. if you blip the throttle it hangs up around 2500rpm on the way back down .... that one of the reason i thought it might be bad compression... no compression means no force on the revs to idle it down.. it does idle down it just pauses at a few place but most noticable at 2500 rpm.

  20. Boost?? whats this here BOost thing eveyone keeps mentioning?? LOL sorry for not mentioning.. its the stock NA motor other than the afore mentioned upgrades.. hell i dont even have headers yet.... im so in the stone age.

In my 77 When im just revving the motor or just driving around town my RPM hangs around 2500 and slowly idles down ..it pauses at a few points along the way down to 850. for example... sitting in my drive way i can blip it to around 3500 or 4000 quick and let off and it just drop quick right to around 2500..it will pause/ level for about 1/2 a second then slowly comes down to normal idle point. Now when im running it around and playing with it this isnt an issue since my shifts are at a much higher RPM and when upshifting its usually dropped to a point above that really quick. but when just cruising or revving it does this. it sounds like its almost the throttle sticking but its not that.. is this a sign of bad compression?? weird FI thing?? or just the natural point of air and fuel idleing for the the FI? I have played with the AFM for better flow rate and have a slightly hotter cam in it from MSA but no aftermarket FI yet.

  23. BlueOvalZ ....... ive never met the man or actual conversed with him .. but his web page and that work of art he calls a Z is how i found this option to crack cocaine we call HybridZ..... I lurked for a year or two and finally posted something and was immediatly blasted for not searching more... oh yes.... luv at first newbie posting.
