bringing back the memories... i played some sweet modem turn based on my appleII lol way back in the day .. i didnt really get hooked until Unreal Tournament came out and then the frag fest started... i even ranked in the top 50 US players the first year they had the Eurpean/US tourny out of Vegas.. (TiVaN1) if anyone played onthe west coast tourneys you might remmber the head shots LOL ... then i got a corp job and just couldnt keep the skillz up.. sounds stupid but you do have to play x amount of hours a day to keep sharp. ive played EVE since beta until this summer and just lost interest and yep im another poor shlep who has lost his soul to WOW.. just started about 2 months ago. god help me

ive driven my mostly stock 77z with the well termed "craptastic fuel injection" (in terms of tuning and horsepower) from Oklahoma to Oregon twice.. never had a problem except for a windshield wiper flying off ... the only thing i did before each trip was fresh spark plugs, wires and oil change. as long as you do ruetine maintenance and feed them oil.. no telling how long the actual motor will last.. i have over 180k on my car and my dad has a tad over 300k on his built l28. but i have to agree that you will be able to go into any local auto parts store and get parts for a sbc .

turned off wet and cold here so no painting yet.... doing this in my Dads garage so moisture is a big thing.. suppose to be nice here for the next two days so if i can get the rest of the car put back together ill be doing the fenders tomorrow sometime before it gets wet again.

Was it for the single SU set up or for duals?? im starting to think i was seeing things... except for extreme customizations ive only seen the singles.. and this was some farmers son's car so i cant see a whole lot of intense one off customizing....but ive been wrong before =). should be down there in like 2 weeks with a camera crew to prove i wasnt seeing things =)

here are some pics of the fenders primered and rough sanded... should paint them next week some time... passengers side fender was hit by a dear and had all theses small but deep dents along the flare... trying to get the shape back is a pain in the ..@$# but its as good as i can do. the drivers side.... well lets say it envolved a bar and a trucker and probably one to many taquila shots but some one stomped on the top edge and dented it all the way to the top of the flare... no work on the flare this time but still a pain on the curvature coming from on top and comign down. and im thinking of leaving the hood black... just repainted to a matte black?? Picture of the side before body... then during and the two finsihed before painting.

Finally finished my intake this last week and took a couple of snap shots... BLue VHT high temp brake caliper paint, ported the inlet to match the Weber 60 cfm throttle body. Dremel snaked all the runners to smooth them out. Now as soon as i work up the nerve ill take apart my completely fine running motor to mount this....... ugh. i hate messing with stuff that work fine. we ALL know where that ends up. complete restoration!!! lol

nope.... its a friend of my Dads when he was living out in western Oklahoma as a kid... so i know where it is... but havnt had the time to go back out there...its a 4 hour drive 1 one. so probably when quail or pheasant season starts i will have another chance to look at it.. they all hunt and i decided this year i was going to go to all the bird seasons. sooo sometime around thanksgiving i should have some pics.

quick question about that driveshaft... since you went from a turbo auto... was it the 3 speed or a 4 speed. ive heard some of the turbo autos were 4 speeds.. so maybe thats why the output spline was larger?? or is this just something you have to swap our going from the auto to 5speed? As for the whole pedal assembly...guess i need to crawl in there and take a better look... i realize its a tight fit as i had to replace the clutch cylinder on my 77... hooking that back up was a pain. Never thought about dropping the whole thing.. i thought it would be easier to just do hte clutch assembly and hook up than unhooking and hooking all 3 back up but like i said i havent taken a real close look at trying to mount the clutch assembly. and im kinda xxl type of guy so ...... what ever requires less wiggling around under there LOL Thnx for the info and if anything else pops up about that swap please feel free.

Ive finally had about enough of my automatic... well actually trying to find one that works right =) this is my 3rd used and reverse is almost out so ive decided to switch to a 5 speed. ive run quite a few searches and got most of my answers from them but a few i couldnt find or search correctly for it. I currently have a 79zx with 3speed auto... i have a 80 zx donor car with a 5 speed in it. 1. with a swap im assuming the starter from my auto will not work with a 5 speed tranny?? 2. are the drive shafts the same length or do i need to swap that as well. 3. ive read in a few posts that the rear end in the auto is a bit weaker so why i have this apart should i just pull the whole assembly or can i just do the tranny?? the rear end is fine in my current car , no whine or bad u joints on the half shafts, so i dont what to swap to an unknown unless i need to. 4. since these cars are mostly interchangeable im "assuming" the 5 speed will bolt up where the auto was minus the trans mount or are they the same?? i know about the pedel assembly and master and slave cylinder, lines and mounting hardware..but ive im forgetting something please beat me with the obvious stick =0) any other thoughts or comments please let me know and thanks =0)

related subject..... so if i finally get brave enough to try to attach my weber throtle body.. i dont need to figure out some way to reattache that weird pointy thing under the oem throttle body ?? which im assuming is the water valve. or did i wander into the twilight zone? =) i was always curious why there was water running to the Tb
