  5. I had one on my 77 if your talking about the airdamn and not the over ride bar... I ordered it from a little hole in the wall companyin beaverton,OR and it was forthe 77 z. so no problem with the lower valance..it bolted right up with sheet metal screw. i still have it if your interested in it. its currently a light blue color but most of the paint has flaked off. its just sitting in my rafters of my garage. i also have an over rider bar for the rear bumper still in the box =0) 240 only though. i think they would look kinda silly on the newer bumpers since they stick a little further out from the body.
  6. im so glad someone finally posted pics of these mounted with stock suspension.... now if i can just get you to play with your creeper and get some shots of the suspension... =0) hint hint nudge nudge looks good.. really really good.. my car is lowerd pretty good so hopefully with the smaller diameter 225s i wont have too huge a fender gap.. any rubbing turning the wheel lock to lock?????
  7. hmmmm i knew there were a lot of mechanical and elecrical engineers on here.... to many nice cars taken apart LOL i cant begin to tell how many jobs ive had so ill just hit the basic ones started with the Navy for 4 years in San Diego, sears in anaheim led to sears in Portland, OR, located underground utilities for awhile, Hotel front desk/night auditor manager of furniture store, manager of Gamecrazy/Hollywood video moved back to Oklahoma to go to school... 6th year/part time currently 4 years at local Hampton Inn...front desk/night auditor while im in school also part time with a friend running a dump truck and back hoe.
  8. ive seen a few carpet kits available but the prices seem to jump around a lot and would like to get a newer style carpet type for my 280z but dont want some thing so cheap it comes apart in 2 years. the only problem i have is, i have an early 77 and that has a raised trunk area with the back half angled up toward the hatch ... only the early 77s had this i guess cause ive never seen another like it. thnx for your suggestions and comments in advance =)
  9. BLueoval's car is what brought me to Hybridz... i was looking for paint ideas and ran across his car and linked to this site and was home! thanks Blueoval... as if i needed another reason to get online.... =0)
  10. i Tinted the back side glass as dark as i could and then blacked out the trim piece to kinda get an over all shadowing effect the length of it.. i have a cell pic that shows it off but its so small im not sure if you can really see it.... i really dont have a pic that highlights it but you get the idea... and Mike... photochop the hell out of it if you want to =0) very jealous of the skills.! before tinting and painting the trim piece and after.... and the small cell pic taken at nite for the full effect.
  11. My dad molded in the wider street flares that are made to be molded in.. has the same look but were a little cheaper from VB... or Dragon i guess its called now.
  12. bah. they are the same price so i would prob go with straight from GroundControl...suprisingly GC doesnt show any shock/struts for the z but the sportcompact site does..
  13. i was thinking in that direction anyways... but as they had the kit sitting there for one price with springs just curious about the company.. was a new one to me.
  14. http://www.sportcompactonly.com/Coilovers-Springs/Suspension/part_c-24_p-66302.htm those seem to be the set up a few people on here have mentioned, was just curious if anyone has used them and how their service is??
  15. arghh.. beat me to the twistmachine conversion. doesnt one of the larger infiniti 4 door cars have a manumatic type tranny? that might have some possibilities of mating up?
  16. do you have anymore pics of that?? great looking and im a huge fan of the wood look.
  17. LOL what he said like the color though... dead sexy
  18. hmmm.. i saw a rearended Maurader sitting in a junkyard in south tulsa about 3 weeks ago..
  19. That is one clean, nice sounding zcar!!
  20. This may be way off base but after finding a link in another posting i found this site. Now it says it doesnt offer any rebuild for 280/280zx automatics, it does show a rebuild for the 3N71B which is the tranny in those cars but for the early 200SX..... im looking at trying to fix the reverse in mine. The trannys forward gears are perfectly fine but reverse is slipping super bad. i already installed a new modualator on this one. My question is guess would be are the INTERNALS the same?? i realize the trannys probably wouldnt match up for a simple replacement but would the rebuild kit work the same?? I may be barking up the wrong tree here but after calling a few tranny places to get a quote and finding out they can not just do the bands but a whole rebuild which runs around 1200. (low) to 2000. (high) because they are not available anymore as individual selections. I understand this because of the age of the car and tranny parts are not stocked anymore. Heres the webpage ... just scroll down to the 200sx and it has a listing for a gasket rebuild and another for the band kit. http://www.drivetrain.com/nissan_car_dt.htm
